Original Anthem Perfect for Maundy Thursday, this stirring anthem depicts the events from Matthew 26 as Jesus prayed in the garden with his friends at his side. J. Paul Williams' words and Vicki Tucker Courtney's original music combine to portray this familiar story in a passion-filled musical setting, as Jesus accepted his Father's will and was betrayed even in the midst of what was a peaceful scene. The last line of the piece speaks of the Garden not as a place of struggle, which it was, but also as a place of victory. The optional harp part adds an element of beautiful serenity and power, building throughout. The reproducible flute part is included in the anthem.
