Composed by Lew Pollack. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Folk,Jazz,Traditional. 26 pages. Keith Terrett #2856819. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746694).

Arrangement of That's a Plenty for String Orchestra. That’s a Plenty arranged for String Orchestra, is a 1914 ragtime piano piece composed by Lew Pollack. Lyrics by Ray Gilbert (born 1912) were added decades later. A number of popular vocal versions have been recorded, but the tune remains more performed as an instrumental.

The composition started out as a rag, but is nowadays played as a part of the Dixieland jazz repertoire. The song has been recorded by numerous artists, and it is considered a jazz standard. The first recording was in 1917 by Prince’s Band, and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings recorded their rendition in 1923.Television comedian Jackie Gleason used it in his shows in the 1950s and 1960s.

Among the hundreds of later recordings of this standard, particularly notable versions include:

Freddy Martin and His Orchestra recorded a version of That’s A Plenty in 1950. Sheet music from the 1950 version featuring Freddy Martin on the cover has the lyrics printed inside.

It was recorded by Albert Nicholas, clarinet, with The Big Chief Jazz Band in Oslo on August 29, 1955. Released on the 78 rpm record Philips P 53038.

The Pollack and Gilbert song is not to be confused with a 1909 song of the same name by Henry Creamer and Bert Williams. Composed by Alex Gibson, Hans Florian Zimmer, and Ryan Romeyn Rubin. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 29 pages. Anna Lapwood #904082. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1316991).

Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and I’ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them!

I think the Interstellar soundtrack has done more to popularise the organ than anything or anyone else! I’ve chosen three of my favourite cues from the film and put them together into a suite. It can be performed in any order, with the pieces played one after the other or scattered throughout a recital programme.

Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. 20th Century,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and Parts. 17 pages. Jmsgu3 #890087. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1300432).

Berceuse Heroique is a musical composition by Claude Debussy, composed in 1914 as a homage to King Albert I from Belgium and his soldiers. The piece was written for King Albert's Book, a collection of music sponsored by The Telegraph and put together by Hall Caine to raise funds for Belgian war relief. The work opens very dark and somber, with a sense of mourning and loss. The anthem is quoted in the middle of the piece, surrounded by music of gloom and despair. The quote from the Belgian national anthem that is squeezed into Debussy's Berceuse heroique is the first phrase of La Brabançonne by François van Campenhout.

The composition expresses the misery of feeling powerless in events, combined with everyday unhappy shortages of necessities, which was a common experience during World War I. The life of French composer Claude Debussy was full of agony and challenges, from surviving in the 1st World War to his battle with cancer.

Berceuse heroique is a significant piece in music history for its reflection of the somber and melancholic mood of the time, its tribute to the soldiers and their suffering, and its representation of Debussy's work during the war. The piece is still performed and recorded today, and is considered a significant work in Debussy's oeuvre.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1032581

Composed by Dominic M Wright. Christian,Christmas. Octavo. 10 pages. Dominic M Wright #5009059. Published by Dominic M Wright (A0.1032581).

An original setting of the lyrics to the well-known carol 'What Child is This?’

For SABT choir and piano accompaniment. Suitable for any Christmas service or concert.

Composers Note

This piece was originally composed during my recovery from CFS/ME. I was drawn to these particular words because, like me, William Dix suffered a serious illness which strengthened his faith and inspired him to write not just these lyrics, but many other well-known and beloved hymns and carols.

The piece was premiered during the annual 'Carols by Candlelight' service at our local church of St Andrews, Kirk Ella in December 2017. The choir worked extremely hard to prepare for the performance and the piece was very well received by both choir and audience.

I am sure that your choir and audience will enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed working on it.

Duration approximately 4 minutes.

Words: William Chatterton Dix - Public Domain

Music: Original composition by Dominic M Wright - Copyright 2017

Dominic M Wright is an award winning composer based in East Yorkshire, England. He is an experienced singer having sung with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Manchester Cathedral Voluntary Choir and the Hull Choral Union in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Sage Gates-head, Durham Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral, Hull Minster and many more.
