By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Wedding. 14 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #1013148. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.1432730).

Paul McCartney has said before that Here, There And Everywhere is one of his personal favorites out of all the songs he's ever written -- and I think many people around the world would share that sentiment! Originally released in 1966 on their album Revolver, the harmonies of this beloved Beatles song were inspired by the Beach Boys, and it received great popular reception and great critical acclaim as an outstanding contribution to the genre of love ballads. And with its dreamy romantic lyrics about love and living in the moment, it's no wonder this is still a popular request for weddings to this day! This Cellobat arrangement for your string quartet was originally written for a wedding ceremony, but it will also be perfect for receptions, cocktail hour, parties, solo & ensemble contest, or any other occasion you need to remind your audience what life is all about. Maintaining the beautiful layered harmonies, gentle groove, and soaring melodies of the original, you're sure to enjoy playing this arrangement as much as your audience will love listening to it! Rated intermediate; this will be playable for students and easily sightreadable for professionals.

By Wings. By Linda McCartney and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop. Score and Parts. 60 pages. Kevin Riley #875342. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1284109).

Live and Let Die is the theme song of the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, performed by the British–American rock band Wings. Written by English musician Paul McCartney and his wife Linda McCartney, it reunited McCartney with former Beatlesproducer George Martin, who produced the song and arranged the orchestra. McCartney was contacted to write the song by the film's producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli before the screenplay was finished. Wings recorded Live and Let Die during the sessions for Red Rose Speedway in October 1972 at AIR Studios. It was also the first rock song to open a Bond film. Another version by B. J. Arnau also appears in the film.

Upon release, Live and Let Die was the most successful Bond theme up to that point, reaching No. 1 on two of the three major US charts (though it only reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100) and No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also received positive reviews from music critics and continues to be praised as one of McCartney's best songs. It became the first Bond theme song to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but ultimately lost the award to Barbra Streisand's The Way We Were. It won the Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) at the 16th Annual Grammy Awardsin 1974.

Wings performed Live and Let Die live during their concert tours and McCartney continues to play it on his solo tours, often using pyrotechnics during the instrumental breaks. It has been covered by several bands, including Guns N' Roses, whose version appears on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I. One of the more popular covers of the song, their version was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performanceat the 35th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993. In 2012, McCartney was awarded the Million-Air Award from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), for more than 4 million performances of the song in the US.

By The Beatles. By Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow. Arranged by Timothy Stapay/Liberace. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Pop,Rock. Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #729825. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1129326).

A Taste Of Honey is arranged as performed by piano artist, Liberace. For the first time; here is the Liberace version of this famous sixties classic song; arranged for piano solo!

A Taste of Honey is a pop standard written by Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow. It was originally an instrumental track (or recurring theme) written for the 1960 Broadway version of the 1958 British play A Taste of Honey (which was also made into the film of the same name in 1961). Both the original and a later recording by Herb Alpert in 1965 earned the song four Grammy Awards.

Barbra Streisand performed the song as part of her cabaret act during 1962, and recorded it in January 1963 for her debut album The Barbra Streisand Album, on Columbia, which won a Grammy for Album of the Year (1963).

The Beatles performed Lenny Welch's adaptation as part of their repertoire in 1962, slightly changing the lyrics in the chorus. Because the instrumental version by Acker Bilk was popular in the United Kingdom at the time, the song was chosen to be recorded for their 1963 debut album, Please Please Me. A version from that time was released in 1977 on the album Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962.

In the US, this song first appeared on the Vee-Jay Records album Introducing... The Beatles. They also performed A Taste of Honey seven times for BBC radio shows.<.p>

Clarinet Choir

She’s Leaving Home
Program Notes

This beautiful Lennon & McCartney song made famous by The Beatles, translates wonderfully to the scoring for Clarinet Choir or Quintet, and is faithful to the original arrangement.  This arrangement can be performed with as few as 5 players or a full flute choir with multiple players on a part.  It is scored for 3 Bb clarinets, Eb alto clarinet (Bb clarinet part included), and Bb bass clarinet (opt. contrabass).

She’s Leaving Home was released on The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Paul McCartney wrote and sang the verse and John Lennon wrote the chorus, which they sang together. The song’s instrumental background was performed entirely by a small string orchestra, and was one of only a few Beatles songs in which the members did not play any instruments on the recording.

By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Larry Nowelsohn. 20th Century,A Cappella,Barbershop,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. 9 pages. Bluebelldisc Press #1085663. Published by Bluebelldisc Press (A0.1510521).

Featured in the Beatles' 1966 record album Revolver, YELLOW SUBMARINE was also issued on a double A-side single with Eleanor Rigby.

Written as a children's song by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, it was vocal performed by Ringo Starr.

The song won an Ivor Novello Award and went to n. 1 on charts in the United Kingdom and other European countries.

It inspired the 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine and appeared as the opening track on the relevant soundtrack album.

In this pop-lyphonic version for SATB, Larry Nowelsohn treated the music material almost like a Renaissance villanelle, assigning the main melody line to Soprano, with the other voices providing for rhythmic, onomatopoeic and harmonic support, always respecting the original atmosphere and conception of the Beatles' evergreen.

By Louis Armstrong. By Jerry Herman. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Blues,Film/TV,Jazz. 15 pages. Keith Terrett #749261. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1149132).

A classic arranged for Brass Quintet with optional drums. The chart features a fully written Louis style Trumpet solo. Enjoy!

Hello, Dolly! is the title song of the popular 1964 musical of the same name. Louis Armstrong's version was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.

The music and lyrics were written by Jerry Herman, who also wrote the scores for many other popular musicals including Mame and La Cage aux Folles.

History:

Hello, Dolly! was first sung by Carol Channing, who starred as Dolly Gallagher Levi in the original 1964 Broadway cast. In December 1963, at the behest of his manager, Louis Armstrong made a demonstration recording of Hello, Dolly! for the song's publisher to use to promote the show. Hello, Dolly! opened on January 16, 1964, at the St. James Theatre in New York City, and it quickly became a major success.

The same month, Kapp Records released Armstrong's publishing demo as a commercial single. His version reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, ending the Beatles' streak of 3 chart-topping hits in a row over 14 consecutive weeks. Hello Dolly! became the most successful single of Armstrong's career, followed by a Gold-selling album of the same name.[2] The song also spent nine weeks atop the adult contemporary chart shortly after the opening of the musical. The song also made Armstrong the oldest artist ever to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 since its introduction in 1958. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 3 song of 1964, behind the Beatles' I Want to Hold Your Hand and She Loves You.

Hello, Dolly! won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1965, and Armstrong received a Grammy for Best Vocal Performance, Male. Louis Armstrong also performed the song (together with Barbra Streisand) in the popular 1969 film Hello, Dolly!.

Lyndon B. Johnson, often referred to by the moniker LBJ, used the tune, rechristened Hello, Lyndon!, as a campaign song for his run in the 1964 U.S. presidential election. This version of the song was performed by Carol Channing at that year's Democratic National Convention, and a recording was made by Ed Ames for distribution at the convention.

The Sunflower controversy:

Hello, Dolly! became caught up in a lawsuit which could have endangered plans for filming the musical. Mack David, a composer, sued for infringement of copyright, because the first four bars of Hello, Dolly! were the same as those in the refrain of David's song Sunflower from 1948. As he recounts in his memoirs, Herman had never heard Sunflower before the lawsuit, and wanted a chance to defend himself in court, but, for the sake of those involved in the show and the potential film, he reluctantly agreed to pay a settlement before the case would have gone to trial.
