Settings vary from lyrical to marcato and tempos range from adagio to allegro. Using serial twelve-tone technique, each study's tone row is used only in original and retrograde (reversed) forms. Interval review in the studies begins with seconds and gradually expands to focus on thirds, fourths, tritones, fifths, sixths and sevenths. While 14 different time signatures are presented, beat subdivisions are not complex to facilitate precise rhythmic execution. Lin-Manuel Miranda's song Surface Pressure from Disney's Encanto is one of the most popular Disney songs in recent memory.  As performed by Jessica Darrow, the reggaeton hit reached #8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and in this arranger's opinion, the driving rhythm and memorable melody also make for an excellent trumpet ensemble arrangement.This arrangement is for 8 Bb trumpets, and is suitable for a group of trumpeters at different skill levels.  The first 4 parts are fairly challenging (mainly with regard to rhythm), and the 1st part requires a number of high C's and Bb's.  These parts carry most of the melodic lines and are intended to be approachable by a talented high school trumpeter.  Parts 5-8 are easier and mainly accompaniment, but still include plenty of variety.  They are intended to be approachable by an average high school trumpeter or a particularly gifted middle school trumpeter.Performance time is around 3 minutes.

Thus the flute player needed a part with a different challenge than the other parts.You can see that when looking at the score. The first piece Walk is focused on some simple dotted rhythms and syncopation. On top of that the flute flies around like a butterfly in the landscape.The second piece May Night is focused on rests. The flute part is inspired by a nightingale singing in my garden.
