Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1216987 Composed by Saint-Saëns, Camille (1835-1921). Arranged by Kamada, Mikio. 20th Century,Opera. 9 pages. ACORDO Sheet Music #813515. Published by ACORDO Sheet Music (A0.1216987). The story of Samson and Delilah is found in the Old Testament. Gaza, an ancient city of Israel, was once ruled by the Philistines. However, the Hebrew hero Samson killed the governor of Gaza. In revenge, the Philistine beauty Delilah tempted Samson to reveal his weakness. This led to the aria Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix, sung at the climax of Delilah's seduction. The aria, written for a mezzo-soprano, beautifully expresses the seductive atmosphere and Delilah's intense passion. It's considered one of the finest arias in all opera. In the scores, the solo part plays both Delilah's and Samson's parts. In the duets period, Delilah's part is played by the piano and the solo instrument plays Samson's part. Samson's part is written in a lower range, emphasizing the contrast with Delilah's part. The original piece is written in D-flat major, which can be challenging for some string players. This version is transposed to G major for their convenience.

I hope you enjoy this arrangement of It's Gonna Be Me! This arrangement was originally written for 8 voices for the semi-professional group, The Philly Accents, and was rewritten as a 6 piece arrangement with occasional splits. This was a passion project after the group heard the Lawrence & Brasstracks version of the NSYNC classic, and was so graciously mixed by my friend David Shane. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1324262 Composed by Amos Elkana. 21st Century,Contemporary. Score. 10 pages. Amos Elkana #912460. Published by Amos Elkana (A0.1324262). In this composition, we delve into the enigmatic world of Ikkyu Sojun, a 15th-century Zen Buddhist monk renowned for his poetry that defies conventional boundaries. Ikkyu's work often reflects Zen principles, blending deep philosophical insights with a stark, often provocative simplicity. Among his most striking poems is Crow with No Mouth, a piece that captures the essence of Zen’s emphasis on the ineffable nature of reality and the limits of language.Crow With No Mouth Hearing a crow with no mouthCry in the deepDarkness of the night,I feel a longing forMy father before he was born. In these lines, Ikkyu conjures an image that is as perplexing as it is profound. The crow, a traditional symbol of mystery and the unknown, is rendered even more inscrutable by its lack of a mouth - a paradoxical figure that seems to transcend ordinary existence. This poem encapsulates the Zen concept of mu, or the negation of fixed concepts, challenging the listener to embrace the boundless nature of understanding. In my composition, I have strived to translate this philosophical depth into music. The interplay between the piano and the voice is crafted to reflect the paradoxical imagery of the poem. The music moves through moments of tension and release, mirroring the poem’s journey from perplexity to a serene acceptance of the unknown. This piece is an invitation to explore the spaces between notes, between words, where the essence of understanding might lie.The emotional core of this composition is also deeply personal. It resonates with my own longing for my father, who passed away seven years prior to the creation of this work. Just as Ikkyu's poem reflects a yearning for a connection with the past, this music embodies my own journey of grief, memory, and the search for peace in the echoes of loss. The intertwining of my personal narrative with Ikkyu’s profound words aims to offer a universal contemplation on the themes of absence, longing, and the ephemeral nature of existence. In creating this work, my aim has been to offer not just a musical experience, but a doorway into the profound simplicity of Zen thought. Through the synthesis of voice, piano, and Ikkyu's evocative poetry, we embark on a journey that transcends the mere act of listening, inviting contemplation, and perhaps, a glimpse into the boundless sky of our own perception.

Small Ensemble Cello,Clarinet,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1026327 Composed by Jason Anthony Gomez. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 27 pages. Jason Anthony Gomez #6066525. Published by Jason Anthony Gomez (A0.1026327). Dance (2018) was written to be performed by SOLI Chamber Ensemble at the 2018 Alba Music Festival Composition Program. The piece is directly inspired by the 20th century painting La Danse (1910) and the artistic philosophies of its painter Henri Matisse (1869 - 1954). Matisse constantly chose to seek the beauty and joy in life despite his own personal struggles and pain. His art serves as a reminder to us all that even in the most difficult times when beauty and joy can seem almost trivial, they are actually worth fighting for and can help us find hope and perseverance. Dance (2018) is my way of trying to channel these philosophies into music while also trying to translate the bold lines and vivid colors of his painting which are used to convey an almost ancient connection to humanity and joy. I encourage listeners and performers to have as much fun engaging in this piece as I did writing it. Enjoy!

Bassoon,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534689 Composed by Thierry Pélicant. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score and part. 25 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #6230963. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534689). A four-movement concerto for bassoon and orchestra (PIC22(CA)22/2100/Timp/2perc/strings) by the noted French composer. Duration is about 16 minutes. This file is the piano reduction and solo part. The score is also available for sale.   The parts are on rental from the publisher. Thierry Pélicant was born in 1957 at Sainte-Adresse, France. After studying the organ and the horn, his meeting with Jean-Claude Hartemann, the Musical Director of the Opéra Comique in Paris lead him to decide to explore conducting. He was the student of Haremann for fifteen years. He is the Musical Director of the André Messager Orchestre and has also directed the Orchestre Philharmonique de l’Oise since 1980, one of the oldest French orchestras, since it was founded in 1750. A passionate supporter of French music, Pélicant reconstructed the Messe solennelle of L.V.A Boïeldieu and Te Deum of 1792 by Philidor and premièred and recorded the Suite Parnassienne, Massenet’s last work. At the same time, he has also served the music of our time in premièring or recording the works of Dazzi, Marchand, Braconnier, Bénard, Drouin, Preschez, etc. As a composer, musical grammar and stylistic debates only interest him from afar. As a true gourmet (since cooking is another of his passions), he strives to write the music that pleases him, that would be enjoyable to play and which would be enjoyable to hear, hopefully with real pleasure and in which he tries to express the emotions and the pleasant or surprising states of being which, to hime, these works are tied. Through this process, he has created concertos (for oboe, for bassoon, for organ, for contrabass), Escales & paysages, ma monumental literary concerto for narrator, piano and orchestra, composed with his friend Dominique Preschez, Operas (Histoires comme ça, Ribouldingue, Élise et le fantôme) ; With the poet Luis Porquet, he wrote the song cycle Ombre légère (for soprano, harp and orchestre), Rhapsodie du Havre (for tenor and chamber orchestra, a commission from the Forum de Normandie to commemorate the 500 years of the founding of the city Le Havre), Et de toi, Bethleem, Christmas oratorio for baritone, chorus and orchestra and, finally, commissioned by the Orchestre de l’Oise in honor of the centennial of the First World War 14, fresque de la Grande Guerre, for the tenor Daniel Gàlvez-Vallejo, children’s chorus and orchestra. In the area of chamber music, he has written a sonata for horn and piano, for the Festival de Giverny, Borée, (quintet for oboe and strings), Sextuor d’été, , and Milonga, (septet inspired by the World of Tango Music). Published in 2005, his novel Carnets de Walter Crane, explores the sufferings of a composer who has the obligation to write a string quartet ...
