Woodwind Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996126 Composed by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. Arranged by Erik Cole. Romantic Period. 13 pages. Erik Cole #4793073. Published by Erik Cole (A0.996126). This is a transcription of the complete Pictures at an Exhibition for double reed choir. It is all in the original keys and based on the well-known Ravel orchestration, which is quite difficult. As a result, this arrangement is even more challenging. It is designed with at least 2 players per part in mind, and all of the oboe and bassoon parts are divisi throughout. The attached MP3 recordings are multi-track recordings of me playing all the parts. This was, by far, the most daunting recording I have put together for any of my arrangements, and I apologize for any minor imperfections in timing or pitch. In many places, this really stretched the limits of what I am capable of on bassoon. This movement is quite fun, and works pretty well for the double reed choir, except for the trills. The high trills are all doable, but are definitely a big challenge.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.809046 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Kim Diehnelt. Romantic Period. 33 pages. Kim Diehnelt #2079067. Published by Kim Diehnelt (A0.809046). Movement 3 from Edward Elgar’s Sea Pictures, Op. 37.Arranged for voice and string quartet. Duration: 6 minutes. 2016. This string quartet version strives to bring out the full color and texture of the original full-orchestra version. Each instrument part includes a small clued staff above showing the vocal line and lyrics. This makes rehearsal and performances much easier to coordinate without a conductor. Where there is an instrument name noted, this refers to the original instrumental line the player is playing. The term loco means that the player returns to playing a string part. For advanced players as the work makes full use of each instrument, uses double stops and extended ranges, etc. For advanced players as the work makes full use of each instrument, double stops, and extended ranges. I hope this smaller ensemble will allow singers to perform the work more often and bring this beautiful work to a larger audience. More on Elgar’s work at www.KimDiehnelt.com.

This was, by far, the most daunting recording I have put together for any of my arrangements, and I apologize for any minor imperfections in timing or pitch. In many places, this really stretched the limits of what I am capable of on bassoon. This movement is the famous opening Promenade, and is one of the more easily accessible ones. It would stand alone quite well in performance.

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996131 Composed by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. Arranged by Erik Cole. Romantic Period. 50 pages. Erik Cole #4793089. Published by Erik Cole (A0.996131). This is a transcription of the complete Pictures at an Exhibition for double reed choir. It is all in the original keys and based on the well-known Ravel orchestration, which is quite difficult. As a result, this arrangement is even more challenging. This was, by far, the most daunting recording I have put together for any of my arrangements, and I apologize for any minor imperfections in timing or pitch. In many places, this really stretched the limits of what I am capable of on bassoon. The middle section of this movement, with all the tremolos and trills, works much better for strings than for double reeds. Still, I was fairly pleased with how the recording of it turned out. The outer sections of the movement are quite difficult because of the extreme ranges that are consistently needed.
