Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811717 Composed by Joseph Bodin De Boismortier (1689 - 1755). Arranged by Edited by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert,Graduation,Standards,Wedding. 22 pages. Piper Publications #5213317. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811717). The sonata is the fourth of a set of six published in Paris in 1725 by L’Auteur & Boivin ‘Avec Privilege du Roy.1725.’ The title page described them as ‘SONATES EN TRIO pour Trois Flûtes Transversieres sans Basse Par MR BOISMORTIER. OEVRE SEPTIÈME.’The publication consisted of a set of parts each with the title page followed by a copy of the  Privilége granted by King Louis to Boismortier to print and sell his music. There are 4 movements, Doucement, Courante, Allemande and a pair of minuets. The three flute parts are equal and independent and the Sonata is suitable for players of intermediate standard and above. Written in the French Baroque style which, unlike the Italian Baroque, includes all necessary ornamentation in the parts, the sonata makes an enjoyable concert item for players and audience alike.

Flute Duet Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1428140 Composed by JOHANN JOACHIM QUANTZ (1697 - 1763). Arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival. Score. 32 pages. Piper Publications #1008926. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1428140). The last of a set of 6 Duettos Opus 2 which Quantz composed for his pupil king Frederick the great of Prussia. It would seem that these Duettos were composed over a longer period of time than would be expected by the opus number as they clearly indicate the pupil's progressive as a player and Quantz's development as a composer. The date of publication (1759, just 4 years before Quantz's death) and addition of the alternative suitability for violins indicates that a collection  of the Duettos was intended to maximise sales. The movements, Grave in alla breve time leading to Alla Breve, ma Presto, Cantabile and Più Tosto Vivace are the most demanding of the six Duettos. The last movement is a canon, the second part following the first exactly at a distance of two bars/measures for 143 bars/measures plus repeat, with a short Conclusione in the fashion of a coda. The last Duetto of the set is suitable for players of advanced intermediate standard.

Flute Duet Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811771 Composed by Robert Valentine (1671 - 1747). Arranged by Edited by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert,Graduation,Standards,Wedding. Score. 22 pages. Piper Publications #6096735. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811771). The set of 6 sonatas for two flutes were first published by John Walsh in London, a clear indication that Robert enjoyed a Europe wide reputation as a composer and performer. They are in the Baroque style written for two equal players of intermediate ability. The dynamic markings are few as the custom of contrasting dynamics on repeated sections was well known. The dynamics in parentheses ( ) are suggestions only as are the dashed phrasings. The original publication was of separate part books. The repeated sections were only indicated in part two which probably caused some initial confusion! The current edition is in playing score format. The sonatas are also suitable for pairs of oboes or violins.

Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522193 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and part. 28 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3133717. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522193). My Saxophone and Me consists of fourteen short and delightful pieces written especially for absolute beginners up to students at elementary level. The book comes in two versions, one for B flat saxophones and the other for E flat instruments. However, for obvious reasons you cannot mix B flat and E flat instruments in the same group.   The pieces are intended as supplementary material to your usual tutor books. The music can be used with any number of players and the pieces remain in the lower register. Several early pieces use only the notes B, A and G and the key of G major predominates. Six of the pieces use only half notes (minims) and quarter notes (crotchets). The low C, a tricky note for some beginners, has been avoided almost completely. On the one occasion it appears, the note C an octave above is given as optional. Although the pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty you can play them in any order you want, depending on the musical needs of the student. Your students are sure to enjoy these pieces, which are both easy on the fingers and easy on the ear! Several pieces have a few measures (bars) rest in the middle not only to give the player a break and add musical contrast but also to give the experience of counting empty bars during the music. When space allows, piano cues appear in the solo part. Some of the later pieces in the book have good performing potential and could be strung together in any order to create a small suite. Every piece has a short piano introduction so that the student can sense the tempo and musical style before playing. The keyboard accompaniments have been kept as simple as possible with the minimum number of notes. Dynamic markings (e.g. piano and mezzo-forte) are used from the start, but phrasing has been omitted from the solo part. This is because the teacher is usually in the best position to suggest phrasing within the physical capabilities of each student. Slurs have been employed sparingly and only when necessary. An MP3 file of all the piano accompaniments is also available as a separate item. You can find it here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20679835 The book includes a well-known folk lullaby from Wales and a lively folk song from Thailand which is known by all Thai people because it’s taught in elementary schools throughout the country. The music has been converted into pdf files at 1,200 dpi which will produce professional looking printed copies of high quality. However, the output quality will also depend on your own printer settings and capabilities. The publication consists of a teacher's book (18 pages) and a student's book (8 pages) both contained in the same pdf file. The sample MP3 (click on the “Listen†button above) contains recordings of Starting Tune (No 1); Island Song (No 3); Waltzing Around (No 7); Just a Minuet (No 11) and Donkey Trot (No 12). Colin Kirkpatrick studied at London’s Royal College of Music. He followed a career in music education. He was a High School Music Director in London for about fifteen years and later became a Music Education Adviser for local government, with responsibility for training teachers and directing the instrumental teaching service. He has published a great deal of music and his publishers include Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, Oxford University Press, Chester, Belwin Mills and Intrada (Netherlands). His music has been performed and broadcast all over Europe as well as in Japan, Thailand, Australia and the USA. He holds MA and PhD degrees. String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522217 Composed by Various. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christmas,Renaissance,Wedding. Score and parts. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3879697. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522217). Three gavottes arranged for strings, simple percussion and other instruments by Colin KirkpatrickIn this series, Renaissance Hits for Strings, some of the most well-known dances from Terpsichore are included. They are all attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts or end-of-semester events. They are fairly easy to play too and the flexible instrumentation allows any players to take a solo with the melody part. They can be played by string quartet, string orchestra or ideally string ensemble plus any other C-pitch instruments that happen to be available. This publication consists of a score showing the four-part ensemble, keyboard and percussion parts. There are separate parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello/bass, percussion and keyboard. Additional instruments are not essential but they add contrasting tone colour. The keyboard part is intended as a guide and when possible the keyboard player should improvise around the part and chords shown. A piano sounds distinctly out of place in this music and a digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option.Every instrumental part (except percussion) also shows the melody line. This allows anyone to take a solo and play the melody, while the other players remain tacet. Solos can be decided in advance and the parts marked accordingly. Just cross out what you don’t need! The percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and usually include a small bass drum or hand-held drum, clave or small headless tambourine. Two players are usually required and the parts can be interpreted quite freely. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.

Wales is often referred to as “The Land of Song” and singing has always been an important part of Welsh culture. There are many hundreds of Welsh folk songs, some of which are now recognized internationally. The three songs in this publication were originally from a set of six arranged for mezzo-soprano and piano in 1963 when the arranger, Colin Kirkpatrick was a music student in London. These new arrangements for cello and piano have retained many features of the original but have been slightly adapted for instrumental use. The three songs are: 1. Flute Duet Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1090562 Composed by François Devienne (1759 - 1803). Arranged by Pat Spence. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 52 pages. Piper Publications #694746. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1090562). Described on the title page when first published in Paris as “Douze Petits Duos facile d’éxécution, Pour deux Flûtes DÉDIÉS à M. Auguste de la Grange COMPOSÉS Par F. DEVIENNEâ€. Neither the date of composition nor that of the first publication are known but the latter would have been during Devienne’s lifetime. Each Duet has two movements and the set of twelve is gently progressive for both parts making part swapping between pupils or pupil and teacher an enjoyable option. The only dynamics indicated are in Duo 9 and I have refrained from adding more as the possibilities are numerous and players will enjoy experimenting for themselves. In editing these duets I have corrected obvious copying mistakes without comment. All editings are indicated either in parentheses ( ) or dashed lines. In the first bar/measure of the Grazioso movement of Duo 4 I have shown the way the turns (grupettos) should be played and continued using the grupetto sign. The layout of the duets avoids page turns during movements except for the last movement of no. 12 which is too long. A nifty page turn from flute 2 should solve this small dilemma.
