The Baby Sheep Shuffle is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Trumpet and one Clarinet.

The Baby Sheep Shuffle is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. In the musical sense Shuffle is a combination of the jazz swing rhythm with a backbeat. Shuffle rhythms can be found in the Swing music of Glenn Miller right through Rock’n’Roll, R’n’B and to the modern day. The Shuffle connection allowed Swing dance styles like Lindy Hop and Jitterbug to be adapted for Rock’n’Roll music in the late 50s and beyond.

The Baby Sheep Shuffle is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. Band findet sich geeignetes Unterrichtsmaterial sowie entsprechende Literatur, womit der gerade den Anfangsschwierigkeiten entwachsene Hornschüler seine Technik und lockere und spielerische Weise stetig vervollkommnen kann. In allen 12 Tonarten gibt es leichtere und schwierigere Übungen, die Lehrer und Schüler dem jeweiligen Ausbildungsstand entsprechend auswählen können.
