Clarinet Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.937294 Composed by Horatio Spafford, Philip Bliss. Arranged by Hugh Levey. Praise & Worship,Sacred. 19 pages. Woodwindly.com #6529745. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.937294). Clarinet Quartet - 3 x Bb Clarinets and Bass Clarinet The words of this hymn were inspired by a series of tragedies in the life of hymn writer, Horatio Spafford. He lost his 4 year old son in a Chicago fire in 1871 and two years later he lost all 4 of his daughters when the ship, SS Ville du Havre, sank while they were travelling from the USA to England. Only his wife survived the journey. He wrote these words while he travelled alone to meet his grieving wife shortly afterwards. The hymn was first published in 1876, set to a tune by Philip Bliss which is still known as Ville du Havre. It exists in versions with either 4 or 5 verses. This arrangement for clarinet quartet consists of 5 verses, each with slightly altered harmonisation or articulation, to suit the words. For example in verse 3 the words Nailed to the Cross are accompanied by accented stabbing chords. Verse 5 has some trumpet-like fanfares to match the reference to the Trump[et] Calls in the text. The words to the hymn are shown in the score and in the first clarinet part, so the arrangement can be used in a worship setting. Verses can be omitted to suit your liturgical needs. Similarly, if the arrangement is used for an instrumental performance, verses can be omitted as required. Duration: 5’ to 5’30

Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.578645 Composed by Traditional. A combination of German and Australian wandering folk songs (Es es es und es and Waltzing Matilda) Journeymen (young craftsmen) in Germany used to be required by law to go from town to town to practise their skills rather than stay in one town, which gave rise to many songs, of which Es es es und es is the best known - (the words of that song mean it is a hard conclusion but I have to leave this town). These journeys were referred to as Walz so these workers went auf der Walz. The idea of travelling auf der Walz was also taken up in Australia (where they called it on the Waltz or on the Wallaby) and it gave rise to the famous song Waltzing Matilda, although, in the Ozzie song, the traveller was a swagman rather than a craftsman. So I have called this arrangement On the Wallaby.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774724 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Folk,World. Octavo. 14 pages. Sandra Milliken #3873279. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774724). The Old Palmer Song is a favourite Australian folk song that is meant to be sung in a rollicking style that reflects the excitement and anticipation of hardy Australian colonials setting out in search of gold. Following hard on the heels of the great California gold rushes (1848 – 1855) came the discovery of payable quantities of gold in Australia. The first gold rush in Australia began in New South Wales in May 1851 after prospector Edward Hargraves discovered gold near Orange, at a site he called Ophir. Other discoveries quickly followed, including those at Ballarat and Bendigo in the colony of Victoria. Then came Rosewood and Gympie (1867) in Queensland; the Gawler region in South Australia in 1868; and Halls Creek (1885), Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie (1893) in Western Australia. One of Australia’s richest alluvial goldfields was that of the Palmer River in far north Queensland. The rush to the Palmer began in 1873 and lasted for about three years. The goldfields were nearly 100 miles inland from the small coastal settlement of Cooktown and the early prospectors had a hard time of it just getting to the field. Leaving Cooktown they crossed the coastal mangroves, then on through dense tropical rainforest, into the more open eucalypt forest beyond and then across the dry, inhospitable and rugged country of the hinterland dissected by wide and deep rivers. And always there was the risk of meeting with fierce resistance from the Aborigines whose tribal land they were travelling through. At the height of the rush there were around 35,000 prospectors on the Palmer (including a great many Chinese). By the time the rush was over, the Palmer had yielded over 100 tons of gold! The Old Palmer Song is set to the tune of Ten Thousand Miles Away, a shore ballad/sea shanty that probably originated in Ireland in the early 19th Century.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1154516 Composed by Alan Bullard. Classical. Octavo. 8 pages. Colne Edition / BullardMusic #754799. Published by Colne Edition / BullardMusic (A0.1154516). The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls is a colourful response to Longfellow's imaginative poem which depicts life and death through the image of the continual ebb and flow of the tide, watched by a traveller on the seashore. The music clothes the poetry with poignant rising and falling phrases supported by rich harmony and a flowing piano part. It is a movement from Bullard's cantata Travelling Tales, also published by Colne Edition. Alan Bullard's choral works are performed worldwide, and many have been recorded and broadcast. He has a reputation for music that choirs enjoy performing, and which speaks directly to audiences. The Colne Choral Series contains a range of Bullard's pieces for adult and youth choirs of all types, including cantatas and choral suites as well as individual movements. Published by Paul A. Jorg (A0.522333). This song is public domain, written in the 1850's, during a time - pre-civil war - when the nation was being torn apart. The writer calms his anxiety by holding on to God's promises. Here are some lyric notes:   I am a poor, wayfaring stranger -  Wayfaring: traveling especially on foot; peripatetic country preachers; a poor wayfaring stranger.   Wandering through this world of woe -  Matthew 18:7: Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin!  Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! And there's no sickness, toil or danger -  John 11:4: When he heard this, Jesus said, This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it.   Ecclesiastes 2:18-19: I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me.  Acts 14:22: strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,  In that bright land to which I go -  James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.I'm going home to see my Father -  John 6:40 -  For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.   I'm only going over Jordan -  Joshua 22:4:  Now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD  gave you on the other side of the Jordan.   Yet though dark clouds will gather round me -  2 Corinthians 12:10: That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak,  then I am strong.   I know my way is rough and steep -  Psalm 16:11: You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.   Proverbs 15:24:  The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. But beauteous fields lie just before me -  Numbers 13:25: We arrived in the land you sent us to see, and it is indeed a magnificient country, a land flowing with milk and honey.   Where God's redeemed their vigil's keep - Exodus12:42:  Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD  for the generations to come.  I'm going home to see my mother -  Mark 10:29-31: I tell you the truth, Jesus replied, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me  and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1097212 Composed by Daniel Burwasser. Classical,Contemporary. Score and Parts. 140 pages. Head and Stem #701166. Published by Head and Stem (A0.1097212). The composition of Metamorphosis for chamber orchestra began in the Fall of 1985 and was completed in February of 1986 when the composer was just 26. This score represents a newly revised edition done in 2022. Every effort was made to maintain the original intention of the piece. Metamorphosis is a work that conveys the essence of transformation and change. It explores the emotional and sonic journey of a metamorphic process, capturing the stages of evolution, growth, and eventual emergence. Metamorphosis represents a brief early period in the composer’s output where a more dissonant harmonic language was used or where the tonality becomes more ambiguous. The composition begins with a sense of anticipation, using subtle and mysterious musical elements to represent the initial state before transformation. In the opening bars for instance, one hears a suggestion of the Scriabin “mystic†chord which also loosely serves as the basis of the piece.. A brief hat-tipping moment is where a few bars of the Ravel string quartet is paraphrased (listen for it!). The work then travels through various cycles and episodes and only hints at the chord along the way. For more information, go to: https://www.danielburwasser.com/To contact the composer directly, go to: danielburwasser9@gmail.comYoutube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@danielburwasser60.
