Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1427906 Composed by Gaetano Donizetti. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio and Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 32 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1008651. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1427906). Among all opera composers, Gaetano Donizetti (1797–1848) was perhaps the most prolific when it comes to chamber music. He composed sixteen string quartets, countless pages for piano (solo and four-hands), and several fantasia-style pieces for solo instrument and piano. The autograph of the Largo for cello and piano survived to this day thanks to virtuoso cellist Alfredo Piatti (1822—1901), in whose collection it safely rested until it could be unearthed once more. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this edition of the Largo brings the piece back to life, providing a comprehensive and accurate representation of the original manuscript. A thorough section of Critical Notes will let you compare the four existing sources and understand why this edition was needed. This edition comes in a bundle of full score and two separate cello part, one unedited, and one with performance suggestions by Michele Galvagno.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841364 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn, Samuel Arnold, and William H. Cummings. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6098157. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841364). This year's Christmas publication choice fell on a song very dear to me: Hark! The herald angels sing. The text, inspired by Luke’s Gospel (2:14), appears for the first time in a collection of Christmas carols called Hymns and Sacred Poems in 1739, jointly written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788 ) and George Whitefield (1714-1770), two of the founding members of the Methodist movement. The version we know today is the one adapted by William H. Cummings (1831-1915) from the section Vaterland, in deinen Gauen of the Festgesang zum Gutenbergfest, WoO 9, by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847). The story, however, is more complex and articulated than that. The original version of the text, written by Wesley, bearing the title Hymn for Christmas-Day, had received only slow and solemn music for its verses, music now almost completely discarded. Also, his original opening lines were Hark! How all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings .The version that has been passed to us is the result of alterations made by different hands, especially those of Whitefield, who changed the initial couplet into the one we know today. In 1840-one hundred years after the publication of Hymns and sacred Poems-Mendelssohn composed a cantata commemorating Johann Gutenberg’s invention of movable-type printing. The English musician William H. Cummings finally adapted Mendelssohn’s music around 1855 in order to fit the music to the verses and give it its present look.In this edition we propose the version that every listener expects to hear when reading the title on the programme and, immediately after, one of the few original versions that have reached us in their entirety, that is the one set to music by Samuel Arnold (1740-1802) and available today in The British Minstrel, and Musical and Literary Miscellany, vol. 3, published in 1843.The proposed instrumentations are those of the classical string quartet and the cello quartet. Both variants are very simple to perform and are certainly suitable for small string ensembles formed in musical schools. In the cello quartet version, the only relatively complex part is that of the first cello, which should be left to the teacher or to a student able to play up to the 7th position without excessive troubles.I hope this music can bring you the serenity that made me prepare it.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156756 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Chamber,Instructional,Romantic Period,Traditional. Score. 44 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #757087. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1156756). The Russian Air with Twenty Variations for Cello Solo, accompanied by a Second Cello, Op. 32, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860), was composed and published around 1815. It is one of the many set of variations written upon the theme “Їхав козак за Дунай†(“The Cossack rode beyond the Danubeâ€) during the second decade of the XIX century, others including those by Beethoven and Hummel. Despite the title, the theme is of Ukrainian origin but, at the time of its diffusion in Europe, under a German disguise, the region that is now Ukraine was part of the Russian Empire. The language of the text makes its origin unmistakable today. After a fascinating slow Introduction, the theme comes and is followed by twenty variations, most of which requiring great virtuosity. This is a concert piece, lasting anywhere between 14 and 24 minutes according to whether repeats will be played or not. An outstanding variety of techniques is employed, making this a true challenge for even the most gifted players. This edition is based on the oldest surviving source, the first edition by Friedrich Hofmeister. It corrects the most glaring mistakes, and adds notes where ambiguity arises. This edition is dedicated to Yuriy Leonovich.

Cello - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1049251 Composed by Robert Lindley. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Children,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 48 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #653619. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1049251). The Twelve Capriccios & Exercises for the violoncello, Op. 15 by Robert Lindley (1776—1855), are unrightfully absent from modern concert repertoire and from classroom material. This edition’s aim is to rectify this by providing a high-quality Urtext edition in modern notation. They are naturally ordered in ascending order of difficulty, and contain heavy usage of double stops throughout, while thumb position enters the scene only in the second part of the collection. This edition comes in a high-quality PDF and EPUB format, ready for print and tablet usage. Its realisation is dedicated to my good friend and exquisite cellist Antonino Saladino.

Cellos - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125668 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Children,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 66 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #726403. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1125668). The Twelve Original Pieces for Two Cellos, dedicated to beginners, Op. 63, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860) is a most colourful collection, containing a spicy mix of arias from famous operas, original themes, and fugues. The arias are mostly from W. A. Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, and G. Rossini’s Tancredi, with a theme and variation from The Magic Flute crowning them all. Even without employing the thumb, these pieces are challenging, and should not be underestimated. They explore all seven positions, making this the most well-rounded collection of the five (Opp. 52, 58, 156, 159), and a must-have for all cello students. This edition comes in two versions, Original & Collectors’ Edition. The Original version is available in either of the following variants: score only, parts only, and score & parts. It is based on the first edition published by Dotzauer at Breitkopf & Härtel in 1823. The Collector’s Edition adds the new edition of these pieces appeared in the 57 Little Duets compiled by Johannes Klingenberg (1852—1905), and in the early XX century edition by Alwin Schöder (1855—1928). Cellos - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1146959 Composed by Friedrich August Kummer. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Chamber,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 84 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #747161. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1146959). Friedrich August Kummer (1797—1879) produced less pedagogical material compared to his two great predecessors, Dotzauer and Romberg, but what survived to this day is of the greatest quality. The Eight Grand Studies for Cello, with optional accompaniment of a second Cello, Op. 44, were composed when Kummer was first solo cello at the Dresden Court Opera (1854—64). All of them use the thumb in some way, while two are specifically dedicated to the thumb position. No. 7, in C minor, uses the melody from Rossini’s aria “Dal tuo stellato soglio†from the opera Mosé in Egitto, showing how great an influence his work as an opera cellist had on him. This edition comes in two versions, Original & Collectors’ Edition. The Original version contains, for the first time since their composition, the Urtext score and parts, and is available for digital download right now and will be printed in Q1 2023. The Collectors’ Edition contains, in digital download, the Urtext score and parts, the score and parts of the revision by the legendary Milan Conservatory professor Giuseppe Magrini, and the cello part of the revision by the Paris Conservatory professor Jules Loeb (André Navarra’s teacher).

Cello Duet Cello - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841354 Composed by Jean-Baptiste Breval. Arranged by Yuriy Leonovich, Michele Galvagno. Classical,Instructional,Standards. Score. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #5888091. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841354). We come to the end of this first part of the journey into Breval's cello sonatas by proposing the fourth one, in B-flat major. It is very interesting to see how all these six sonatas are firmly rooted in major keys, with fleeting passages to minor relatives, rigorously during the second movements. This Sonata has the longest first movement by far, and also a second movement that sails away from the Rondo form, proposing an Aria (Andantino) with two variations. Technically it is quite demanding, possibly the capstone of the sextuplet, coupling a richness in embellishments with long passages in the extended position.

Cello,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1468192 Composed by Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Emanuele Buono, Josephine Vains, and Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. 36 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1046502. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1468192). The production for Cello and Guitar is, in general, quite scarce, and while one could be repelled from this instrumentation because of the potential sound balance issues, the actual result is, in truth, remarkable and surprising at the same time.During the 1810s, Dotzauer wrote three opuses involving the guitar, making us assume there could have been a player to serve as source for his inspiration. This Pot-pourri, Op. 21, composed around 1811 and marked for publication by Breitkopf & Härtel only in 1817, is a 9-minutes-long piece in five parts in the key of E minor. A dramatic, long introduction leads the way to a Gavotte-like Andante, whose melody is constantly varied and developed to put the singing qualities of the soloist in the spotlight. A dreaming Larghetto, in G major, prepares us for the coming back of the Andante, and for the closing, rushing Presto. This edition comes in a full score and cello part that closely follow Dotzauer’s instructions, plus several bonuses: A guitar part with annotations by Emanuele Buono, 1st-prize winner of the “Michele Pittaluga” competition in 2013Two additional cello parts, one with historical performance suggestions by Australian cellist Josephine Vains, and one with modern performance suggestions by Michele Galvagno.
