Cellos - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125668 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Children,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 66 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #726403. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1125668). The Twelve Original Pieces for Two Cellos, dedicated to beginners, Op. 63, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860) is a most colourful collection, containing a spicy mix of arias from famous operas, original themes, and fugues. The arias are mostly from W. A. Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, and G. Rossini’s Tancredi, with a theme and variation from The Magic Flute crowning them all. Even without employing the thumb, these pieces are challenging, and should not be underestimated. They explore all seven positions, making this the most well-rounded collection of the five (Opp. 52, 58, 156, 159), and a must-have for all cello students. This edition comes in two versions, Original & Collectors’ Edition. The Original version is available in either of the following variants: score only, parts only, and score & parts. It is based on the first edition published by Dotzauer at Breitkopf & Härtel in 1823. The Collector’s Edition adds the new edition of these pieces appeared in the 57 Little Duets compiled by Johannes Klingenberg (1852—1905), and in the early XX century edition by Alwin Schöder (1855—1928). Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1111118 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Carlo Alfredo Piatti. Baroque,Chamber,Instructional,Religious. Score and part. 26 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #713394. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1111118). The first cello Suite by Johann Sebastian Bach is, possibly, the most well-known and played piece of the cello repertoire. Many composers have felt the need to add a piano accompaniment to these already perfect gems, often resulting in dull harmonisation exercises. This is not the case with Carlo Alfredo Piatti’s accompaniment, where many choices are clearly personal and original. This editions includes a full score and a solo part with Piatti’s fingering and bowing suggestions, while the Critical Notes explain Piatti’s source management.

Schumann's Spirit from the Hands of KempffIn 1925, Breitkopf & Hartel approached the young pianist Wilhelm Kempff to prepare Clara Schumann's Instructive Edition of her husband's works for the new engraving. Cello Duet Cello - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841372 Composed by David Popper. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 10 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6707623. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841372). The Three Pieces, Op. 64, by bohemian cellist David Popper (1843-1913), for cello and piano, are among the most appreciated by young cellists, given their relative simplicity. They are made up of a song remembering the old days (No. 1), a tarantella (No. 2), and a lullaby (No. 3).  Following the successful performance of my arrangement for two cellos realised for a student of mine in 2021 of No. 1, I have now resolved to sharing this with the world.  Arranging piano parts for a single instrument is always going to be a compromise, but Popper’s use of the piano in short pieces is usually light enough to make the result convincing.  I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed arranging and performing it. This edition is made up of a single document [10pp.] containing both the score and the two cello parts. The solo cello part contains fingering and bowing suggestions by the composer, while the second cello contains my own suggestions.

Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799619 Composed by Gioachino Rossini. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. 13 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #5334741. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799619). The first of its kind, this is a customized Comtesse-only audition cut of En proie à la tristesse from Gioachino Rossini's Le comte Ory (1828). In the past, singers wishing to audition for this role would have to make a series of awkward cuts to eliminate the gaps created by the Comte and Isolier's lines, and deal with a needlessly inflated page count due to the choral parts, when performing this excerpt. The current edition omits and condenses those passages and, as a result, noticeably reduces the page count to 13. In addition, this new engraving is remarkably clearer than the existing French-language vocal score, which has deteriorated severely from age.The piano reduction itself has not been simplified or drastically altered (at the commissioner's request), although the engraving features minor changes from the original edition (for example, eliminating cross-staff chord notation, correcting some obvious typos, and reconciling details in the Ricordi and French editions). In this edition, the score cuts immediately from 2 measures after rehearsal 41 to the beginning of rehearsal 42 (so the Comtesse sings the last syllable of bonheur on the first downbeat of cut time and the C major/C minor sections are cut away completely). This brings the excerpt in line with most cavatina/cabaletta numbers that do not have a discernible break in between the two.About the Arranger: Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Currently based in the Cleveland area, Ms. DiPaolo has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Ambassador Chamber Players on multiple occasions and as a recitalist, collaborator, and presenter worldwide. Currently, Ms. DiPaolo is an online Adjunct Lecturer in Music at Indiana University; the Principal Theory Teacher at Liberty Park Music, an online-only video subscription-based music school; an invited blog contributor and guest instructor at Tonebase; and a sought-after online instructor of piano, music theory, and composition who includes partimento and historical improvisation in her curricula. For more information, please visit http://ndipaolo.musicaneo.com .

Cello,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1081888 Composed by Carlo Alfredo Piatti. Arranged by Michele Galvagno & Raphael Pidoux. Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. Score and part. 26 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #686016. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1081888). The Race, for cello and piano, is a fresh, virtuoso piece written by Carlo Alfredo Piatti (1822—1901) to celebrate his successful recovery from a long period of illness which kept him away from his beloved cello and from the concert stage. A short introduction by the piano serves as a countdown to a funny chase where the cellist needs to keep the bow in check at every turn to avoid losing control. Left-hand is clearly challenging at this speed, but Piatti’s masterful writing makes the learning path a very rewarding one. This publication is the third one celebrating the 200th anniversary of Piatti’s birth, and comes in a single file containing both the score and two versions of the cello part. One follows faithfully the composer’s manuscript, while the second provides fingering suggestions by Raphaël Pidoux, professor at the CNSM in Paris.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841363 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn, Samuel Arnold, and William H. Cummings. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6098159. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841363). This year's Christmas publication choice fell on a song very dear to me: Hark! The herald angels sing. The text, inspired by Luke’s Gospel (2:14), appears for the first time in a collection of Christmas carols called Hymns and Sacred Poems in 1739, jointly written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788 ) and George Whitefield (1714-1770), two of the founding members of the Methodist movement. The version we know today is the one adapted by William H. Cummings (1831-1915) from the section Vaterland, in deinen Gauen of the Festgesang zum Gutenbergfest, WoO 9, by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847). The story, however, is more complex and articulated than that. The original version of the text, written by Wesley, bearing the title Hymn for Christmas-Day, had received only slow and solemn music for its verses, music now almost completely discarded. Also, his original opening lines were Hark! How all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings .The version that has been passed to us is the result of alterations made by different hands, especially those of Whitefield, who changed the initial couplet into the one we know today. In 1840-one hundred years after the publication of Hymns and sacred Poems-Mendelssohn composed a cantata commemorating Johann Gutenberg’s invention of movable-type printing. The English musician William H. Cummings finally adapted Mendelssohn’s music around 1855 in order to fit the music to the verses and give it its present look.In this edition we propose the version that every listener expects to hear when reading the title on the programme and, immediately after, one of the few original versions that have reached us in their entirety, that is the one set to music by Samuel Arnold (1740-1802) and available today in The British Minstrel, and Musical and Literary Miscellany, vol. 3, published in 1843.The proposed instrumentations are those of the classical string quartet and the cello quartet. Both variants are very simple to perform and are certainly suitable for small string ensembles formed in musical schools. In the cello quartet version, the only relatively complex part is that of the first cello, which should be left to the teacher or to a student able to play up to the 7th position without excessive troubles.I hope this music can bring you the serenity that made me prepare it.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074277 Composed by Carlo Alfredo Piatti. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Classical,Holiday,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period. Score. 12 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #678570. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1074277). The Elegy on the death of Anton Rubinstein, for two cellos, written by Carlo Alfredo Piatti (1822—1901) is a poignant expression of the pain the composer must have felt at the news of his friend’s death, in the first days of November, 1894. The piece begins with an almost sentence-like cadence, in C minor, with the first cello sounding the church’s bells, and the second cello answering with chest-tearing cries of pain. The true elegy start on a Dactyl rhythm and develops into four increasingly tense episodes before seeing the return of the opening melody. But not all is bleak: a shift to C major brings us into the heavens now enriched by the music and pure soul of our friend, and while the end is once more in C minor, we know inside us that he will always be with us. This publication is the second one celebrating the 200th anniversary of Piatti’s birth, and comes in a single file containing both parts and score.

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841329 Composed by Georg Goltermann. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 65 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #3501895. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841329). This is a solo and string orchestra version of the third movement from Georg Goltermann (1824-1898) fourth cello concerto in G major. As a greatest hit in the cello students’ repertoire, it is seldom performed in its full orchestral version, mainly due to the lack of a full symphonic orchestra in little music schools. This arrangement for string quintet or orchestra (with the viola easily adaptable as a third violin) hopes to solve this most basic problem and give students a great chance for a public performance they will never forget!

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1495578 Composed by Gaetano Donizetti. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio, Michele Galvagno. Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 12 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1072095. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1495578). When you think of Gaetano Donizetti (1797–1848), possibly the first opera that comes to mind is L’Elisir d’amore. And what is the first aria that comes to mind? Most probably the one for the tenor Nemorino at the beginning of the Second Act that begins with the words “Una furtiva lagrima…” (A stealthy tear…).What you possibly didn’t know is that this very melody was secretly penned by Donizetti in a sketch for piano solo that he treasured hidden in his wallet—folding lines can still be seen on the autograph manuscript in Bergamo. Editor Fabrizio Capitanio is thrilled to present to us this long lost gem in a new, clean, and clearly laid out edition. A detailed introduction tells of how this piece ended up being included in the opera, even if poet and librettist Felice Romani wasn’t so convinced about it.
