Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1427906 Composed by Gaetano Donizetti. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio and Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 32 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1008651. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1427906). Among all opera composers, Gaetano Donizetti (1797–1848) was perhaps the most prolific when it comes to chamber music. He composed sixteen string quartets, countless pages for piano (solo and four-hands), and several fantasia-style pieces for solo instrument and piano. The autograph of the Largo for cello and piano survived to this day thanks to virtuoso cellist Alfredo Piatti (1822—1901), in whose collection it safely rested until it could be unearthed once more. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this edition of the Largo brings the piece back to life, providing a comprehensive and accurate representation of the original manuscript. A thorough section of Critical Notes will let you compare the four existing sources and understand why this edition was needed. This edition comes in a bundle of full score and two separate cello part, one unedited, and one with performance suggestions by Michele Galvagno.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1317490 Composed by Johann Simon Mayr. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio & Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. 110 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #906154. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1317490). Johann Simon Mayr (1763—1845) is a composer rarely performed today. His music, reflecting the transition from the Classical to the Romantic musical era, inspired Rossini and was crucial in the development of Donizetti’s style. He became a central figure in the musical life of the Italian city of Bergamo where, in 1805, he founded the Conservatory, at the time known as “Lezioni Caritatevoli di Musicaâ€. One of the first pupils of the “Lezioni†was Gaetano Donizetti, whose production and fame soon arose above everyone else’s. The first concerto, in C major, is one of the three surviving keyboard concertos from Mayr’s manuscripts kept in the Biblioteca Musicale Gaetano Donizetti and in the Museo Donizettiano. It is pedagogical in nature, its light orchestration (only 2 oboes and 2 horns joining the strings) allowing it to be performed with minimal forces. In three movements, spanning about 18 minutes in total, it looks back at a late Classical style that was quickly fading out of fashion at the time of its creation (1825-6).This edition comes with the unique contribution of M° Fabrizio Capitanio, in the form of a thorough musicological research delving deep into the historical context, and all of the critical aspects that made this work possible.A reduction for two pianos is available under Catalogue N° ASE 0051, while orchestral parts can be found as a bundle under Catalogue N° ASE 0053.This edition is also the first one in the new series dedicated to the City of Bergamo: La Bergamasque!

String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841327 Composed by Various. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Baroque,Children,Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 29 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #3501893. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841327). In schools using the Suzuki Method it is usual to perform music taken from the children's repertoire books. The main problem with this is that, being violinists usually many more than their cellist fellows, these last ones have to add to their normal weekly practice also the study of the accompaniments of the pieces for violin. This can drain a lot of time from the cello teacher's weekly lesson's already limited time. This edition aims to solve this problem by providing already made parts for accompanying all of the pieces presented in the Suzuki Violin School - Volume 2, ready to use with fingerings, bowings and other editorial marks. Printing the whole score in recto-verso will give you a ready to play book with page turns already set up. The solo violin part is not shown in this publication. The teacher or the orchestra wishing to perform this is required to own a legal copy of the Suzuki Violin School - Volume 2

Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1111118 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Carlo Alfredo Piatti. Baroque,Chamber,Instructional,Religious. Score and part. 26 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #713394. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1111118). The first cello Suite by Johann Sebastian Bach is, possibly, the most well-known and played piece of the cello repertoire. Many composers have felt the need to add a piano accompaniment to these already perfect gems, often resulting in dull harmonisation exercises. This is not the case with Carlo Alfredo Piatti’s accompaniment, where many choices are clearly personal and original. This editions includes a full score and a solo part with Piatti’s fingering and bowing suggestions, while the Critical Notes explain Piatti’s source management.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156756 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Chamber,Instructional,Romantic Period,Traditional. Score. 44 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #757087. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1156756). The Russian Air with Twenty Variations for Cello Solo, accompanied by a Second Cello, Op. 32, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860), was composed and published around 1815. It is one of the many set of variations written upon the theme “Їхав козак за Дунай†(“The Cossack rode beyond the Danubeâ€) during the second decade of the XIX century, others including those by Beethoven and Hummel. Despite the title, the theme is of Ukrainian origin but, at the time of its diffusion in Europe, under a German disguise, the region that is now Ukraine was part of the Russian Empire. The language of the text makes its origin unmistakable today. After a fascinating slow Introduction, the theme comes and is followed by twenty variations, most of which requiring great virtuosity. This is a concert piece, lasting anywhere between 14 and 24 minutes according to whether repeats will be played or not. An outstanding variety of techniques is employed, making this a true challenge for even the most gifted players. This edition is based on the oldest surviving source, the first edition by Friedrich Hofmeister. It corrects the most glaring mistakes, and adds notes where ambiguity arises. This edition is dedicated to Yuriy Leonovich.

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841329 Composed by Georg Goltermann. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 65 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #3501895. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841329). This is a solo and string orchestra version of the third movement from Georg Goltermann (1824-1898) fourth cello concerto in G major. As a greatest hit in the cello students’ repertoire, it is seldom performed in its full orchestral version, mainly due to the lack of a full symphonic orchestra in little music schools. This arrangement for string quintet or orchestra (with the viola easily adaptable as a third violin) hopes to solve this most basic problem and give students a great chance for a public performance they will never forget!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841368 Composed by English Traditional. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 20 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6636597. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841368). This year’s Christmas publication is God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen, one of the oldest carols of the English tradition, in two versions: for string quartet and for cello quartet. The source for this edition has been the choral part found in Christmas Carols New & Old, edited by John Stainer (1840–1901) and firstly published by Novello & Co around the year 1880. The proposed edition consists of two separate full scores, one for string quartet and one for cello quartet, both accompanied by a full set of performance material. I have decided to keep the string quartet version in the original key of E minor, while I have transposed the cello quartet version down a whole step to account for the better resonance the key of D minor gives on cellos, and to keep the highest note of the first cello in range of the first thumb position. The separate parts for the cello quartet versions bear fingering and bowing suggestions by myself. I hope you will enjoy playing this piece with your friends, family, and students as much as I have enjoyed researching and adapting it. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a time of joy, peace, and rest with all your dear ones.
God rest you merry, Gentlemen

Cello,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1468192 Composed by Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Emanuele Buono, Josephine Vains, and Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. 36 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #1046502. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1468192). The production for Cello and Guitar is, in general, quite scarce, and while one could be repelled from this instrumentation because of the potential sound balance issues, the actual result is, in truth, remarkable and surprising at the same time.During the 1810s, Dotzauer wrote three opuses involving the guitar, making us assume there could have been a player to serve as source for his inspiration. This Pot-pourri, Op. 21, composed around 1811 and marked for publication by Breitkopf & Härtel only in 1817, is a 9-minutes-long piece in five parts in the key of E minor. A dramatic, long introduction leads the way to a Gavotte-like Andante, whose melody is constantly varied and developed to put the singing qualities of the soloist in the spotlight. A dreaming Larghetto, in G major, prepares us for the coming back of the Andante, and for the closing, rushing Presto. This edition comes in a full score and cello part that closely follow Dotzauer’s instructions, plus several bonuses: A guitar part with annotations by Emanuele Buono, 1st-prize winner of the “Michele Pittaluga” competition in 2013Two additional cello parts, one with historical performance suggestions by Australian cellist Josephine Vains, and one with modern performance suggestions by Michele Galvagno.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074277 Composed by Carlo Alfredo Piatti. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Classical,Holiday,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period. Score. 12 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #678570. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1074277). The Elegy on the death of Anton Rubinstein, for two cellos, written by Carlo Alfredo Piatti (1822—1901) is a poignant expression of the pain the composer must have felt at the news of his friend’s death, in the first days of November, 1894. The piece begins with an almost sentence-like cadence, in C minor, with the first cello sounding the church’s bells, and the second cello answering with chest-tearing cries of pain. The true elegy start on a Dactyl rhythm and develops into four increasingly tense episodes before seeing the return of the opening melody. But not all is bleak: a shift to C major brings us into the heavens now enriched by the music and pure soul of our friend, and while the end is once more in C minor, we know inside us that he will always be with us. This publication is the second one celebrating the 200th anniversary of Piatti’s birth, and comes in a single file containing both parts and score.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841372 Composed by David Popper. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 10 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6707623. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841372). The Three Pieces, Op. 64, by bohemian cellist David Popper (1843-1913), for cello and piano, are among the most appreciated by young cellists, given their relative simplicity. They are made up of a song remembering the old days (No. 1), a tarantella (No. 2), and a lullaby (No. 3).  Following the successful performance of my arrangement for two cellos realised for a student of mine in 2021 of No. 1, I have now resolved to sharing this with the world.  Arranging piano parts for a single instrument is always going to be a compromise, but Popper’s use of the piano in short pieces is usually light enough to make the result convincing.  I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed arranging and performing it. This edition is made up of a single document [10pp.] containing both the score and the two cello parts. The solo cello part contains fingering and bowing suggestions by the composer, while the second cello contains my own suggestions.
