Johann Strauss jr. composed this march in 1898 for the festival of the riflemen union in Vienna, Austria. The first performance  was in a version with a male choir and orchestra. This arrangement in the original key of the orchestral version was commissioned  by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, principal conductor Hansjoerg Angerer and premiered at their Three Kings' Concert on 6  January 2024 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.  A live recording of this concert is available at  https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/dreikonigskonzert-2024-aus-den-bergen/ .

Aus den Bergen (From the Mountains) was composed in summer 1864 during Johann Strauss' annual concert trip to Russia. It  premiered on 2 October 1864 in Pavlovsk near St. Petersburg and was dedicated to the famous Viennese music critic Eduard Hanslick.  This arrangement in the original key of the orchestral version was commissioned by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, principal conductor  Hansjoerg Angerer and premiered at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2020 at the Grosses Festspielhaus  (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.  Albert Schwarzmann had to step in at very short notice for the sick Hansjoerg Angerer, who performed this piece at the same event  on 6 January 2024. ...My dictionary gives three definitions of 'Intermezzo,' also the name of a world premiere for violin and piano, Reiko Nishioka on violin and the composer, Gary Noland, on piano.  Included are the words 'light character.'  If so, the piece has intercalary intermezzos of its own smoothly segued between sections of sophisticated sobriety-or vice-versa.  I's a romantic romp, rhythmically robust yet melodically flirting with the nostalgia of cabaret, minus the sleazy diminution of spilled drinks and smelly ashtrays. Its elegance recalls Elgar, and the serious sides, a synthesis of those strange bedfellows Schubert and Ives. Composers hate it when their music reminds you of someone else's, but writing within a tradition, Noland has incorporated divergent styles that, woven together, work. The Frankfurt composer and professor of composition Kurt Hessenberg (1908-1994), together with Ernst Pepping and Hugo Distler, ranks among the most important representatives of Protestant church music in the twentieth century. 'Lukas-Passion' was composed in 1977 at the suggestion of Helmuth Rilling and performed for the first time in 1978 at the Frankfurt Dreikönigskirche by the Frankfurt Kantorei and Bach Collegium Frankfurt under the direction of Rilling. In this great Passion, Hessenberg's tonal language is extremely gripping – his sense both of drama and of expressive passages causes a deep emotion which cannot be resisted. The music of Passion according to St. Luke is one of Hessenberg's most important sacred works.

Der Freischütz is a German opera with spoken dialogue. It premiered on 18 June 1821 at the Schauspielhaus Berlin and is considered to be the first German  Romantic opera. The overture is in sonata form and may be regarded as a compressed tone poem about the Freischütz story. The arrangement is kept in the  original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed (without Euphonium and Tuba) by Mozarteum Wind  Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their New Year's Concert on 6 January 2008 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in  Salzburg, then again at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2018 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and  broadcasted live by Austrian television. A further repetition at the same event on 6 January 2024 again with live TV, now under the new name Salzburg Wind  Philharmonic underlines the great appreciation for this arrangement shown by the orchestra and conductor.
