Several times I tried to embrace the depth of this work through its text. And though I thoroughly enjoyed its choral setting, I could not find the musical language that invited its instrumental conveyance. Then, on December 14th of 2012, while playing with my 8-year old daughter, I learned of the details surrounding Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. There I sat, listening as a commentator told of the some 600 children at the school and their parents, who waited outside in a despair I cannot begin to imagine, hoping that their child was not one of the victims. Little by little, the children were released into the arms of their waiting loved ones. But nothing could have prepared me for the emotions that arose when I learned that the parents and grandparents of 20 children learned of their loss when they did not return to them. There are nowords to describe what this picture conveyed in my mind in that moment. But musically, what you are about to perform is the result. I deeply thank Blake R. Henson and GIA Publications for the right to transcribe this work on their behalf.

Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece.This arrangement was made for a late intermediate / early advanced student currently working on Federation class Moderately Difficult 1. It was not easy for him, but he persisted and saw it through, giving an outstanding performance at a recital. I wanted this to be a challenge, but I also wanted to use it as an opportunity for voicing. That is why you will find many notes that are double-stemmed throughout this arrangement. My hope was to give him a little taste of Liszt's Liebestraum No. 3 since I really want him to play that next. But we really enjoyed this arrangement! It's a great piece on its own. I don't give any pedaling suggestions in the score, but these should be chosen carefully so that it doesn't get too muddy.

Amiruddin Tjitraprawira, circulated a lot like the song; Pangèran Trunodjojo, Madhurâ O Madhurâ, Asta Aermata, Kerrabhân Sape, Djoko Tole, Tera' Bulân, È Pasèsèr, Kè' Lèsap, Kembhângnga Naghârâ, Tondu' Majâng, Aèng Tantja 'Torowan, Orèng Matrol and others. This song is a regional Madurese song because it really describes the lives of the coastal communities of Madura who work as fishermen. The song Tondu' Majâng tells the life of a Madurese fisherman. He was born in Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra on August 19, 1996. Currently he is a conductor of Benedicamus Chante Choir - Darma Cendika Catholic University Student Choir, Surabaya.
