Flute Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465994 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Leo Silva. Pop,Rock. Individual part. 2 pages. MP Sheet Music #1044596. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.1465994). All My Loving is a Beatles song, composed by Paul McCartney (although it is credited to Lennon/McCartney) for the 1963 album With the Beatles. It was one of the few examples of compositions where McCartney wrote the lyrics before the music; the text was apparently conceived as a poem, composed while he was shaving.McCartney originally envisioned it as a country & western song, and it was written on piano during a rehearsal for the Beatles' tour with Roy Orbison; George Harrison added his Nashville-style guitar solo to the recording. Using the letter format in the song's lyrics, also used in P.S. I Love You.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869368 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 126 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #33643. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869368). Instrumentation: 3232-4331-timp-2perc-pf-hp-strings. Program note. Nineteen ninety-eight marks the tenth anniversary of my plunge into the world of ballet. I continue to take classes three or four times a week. It's fun, athletic, and challenging. And I'm still working on the basic notion of spotting in my pirouettes ... So when Max Hobart of the Civic Symphony Orchestra of Boston agreed to premiere a new work of mine I knew it had to be a symphonic ballet. Coincidentally, I discovered that my favorite cartoonist, Edward Gorey, is also a balletomane. He lived in New York City between 1953 and 1986 and never missed a single performance of the New York City Ballet. Apparently his leaving New York to live permanently on Cape Cod was prompted by the death of George Balanchine in 1983. Among Edward Gorey's many books there is one, The Gilded Bat, about a young woman, Maud Splaytoe, and her adventures in the ballet world. She dies in the end when the plane she is in flies into a great, dark bird. Hmmm, I thought, The Gilded Bat would make a nice adagio movement. To complete the work, I found four other Gorey books that attracted me in mood and texture: The Nursery Frieze - dogs running across the edge of a nursery ceiling, barking out words whose sequence provides no sense or meaning, e.g., Archipelago, cardamon, obloquy, ignavia, samisen, bandages, wax, Gavelkind, ... ; The Raging Tide - a fantastical story about four creatures, Figbash, Hooglyboo, Naeelah and Skrump, who would not stop abusing each other; The Utter Zoo - an alphabet book of zoo animals of Edward Gorey's concoction, e.g., Ampoo, Boggerslosh, Crunk, Dawbis, Epitwee, ... ; and The Blue Aspic - a macabre story of a mad fan, Jasper Ankle, who stalks an opera diva, Ortenzia Caviglia. When he finally meets her at the stage-door after a performance, he stabs her in the throat and cries, J'ai trouvé Hortense! Symphony No. 2 ... A Phantasmagorey Ballet is in five movements: I. The Nursery Frieze, Con moto. II. The Gilded Bat Adagio: Pas seul for Mirella Splatova, aka Maud SplaytoeIII. The Raging Tide Presto: Pas de Quatre for Figbash, Hooglyboo, Naeelah and Skrump. IV. The Blue Aspic Allegro: Valzer alla Prokofiev ... Pas de deux for Jasper Ankle and Ortenzia Caviglia. V. The Utter Zoo Largo: Grand Funk Finale. This work is dedicated to my wife, Kristin Beckwith, whom I met ten years ago at the Boston Ballet, and who continues to be my one and only ballet teacher.Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/symphony-no-2-a-phantasmagorey-ballet-1998

Flute Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596557 Composed by Juan María Solare. Concert,Contemporary,Graduation,Instructional,Praise & Worship. Individual part. 6 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4614051. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596557). The musical language of this flute solo tends to be atonal. A melodic atonality. Duration: 4:00.As for the title: Chiron is a centaur from the Greek mythology; the only only one wise, skillful and with affable character; in other words, the only centaur who is not a brute. He is credited with musical and healing gifts. Apparently he was the teacher or tutor of Achilles, Jason, Asclepius, Xenophon, Apollo and many other mythical colleagues.

Large orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q3053 Composed by Hans Werner Henze. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 25 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q3053. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q3053). ‘My Sinfonia No. 8 is not at all tragic or moody like the Seventh. It is a summer piece and is based on three moments from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream‘, writes Hans Werner Henze. This, however, is all we get to know from the composer regarding the work’s reference to Shakespeare’s comedy. On closer examination of the three-movement symphony it turns out that the first movement is a fantasia on Oberon’s order to Puck to search for the magic flower. In the second movement, Henze apparently set the love scenes between Titania and Bottom to music. Ultimately, the final movement shines gracefully and peacefully as if everything that had happened before had only been a dream. - Hans Werner Henze2 (1. auch Picc., 2. auch Picc. u. Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1288901 By Roy Orbison. By Bill Dees and Roy Orbison. Arranged by John Holland. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Score and Parts. 42 pages. John Ivor Holland #879740. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1288901). Featured, of course, in the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere film (1990) and now in its own stage musical, Oh, Pretty Woman was originally recorded by Roy Orbison and released as a single in August 1964, spending three weeks at number one in the US and, later that year, in the UK. The title was apparently inspired by Orbison's wife, Claudette, interrupting a conversation to announce she was going out. When Orbison asked if she had enough cash, his co-writer Bill Dees interjected, A pretty woman never needs any money. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number 224 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2008, The Library of Congress selected the song for preservation in the National Recording Registry. A great song for any time of the year, your band and audience will love this toe-tapping classic from the 60s, sounding as timeless today as it did back then.

Instrumental Duet Bassoon,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1097228 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical. Score and parts. 12 pages. RayThompsonMusic #701184. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1097228). Translated as (Duet with Two Obligato Eyeglasses) or k/a The Obligato/Eyeglass Duo. Originally composed for viola/cello duet it is arranged here for bassoon duet. This arrangement is of of Mvt.I Allegro ONLY Mvt II Minuetto is also available on this site. This duet for viola and cello from 1796-1797 is believed to have been written for Beethoven's longtime frind, Baron Nikolaus Zmeskall. The Baron was an accomplished cellist, and Beethoven had played the viola back in Bonn. Both men wore spectacles at times, which is believed to be the genesis of the curious name. Apparently Beethoven wrote Zmeskall a letter containing these lines: Dearest Baron Garbage-truck driver, I am obliged to you for the weakness of your eyes. Perhaps Zmeskall lent Beethven his eyeglasses. Who knows? One thing is certain: the piece exudes a sense of sheer playfulness, similar in spirit (if not style) to Mozart's Duo for Violin and Viola in B-Flat. Arranged here for bassoon duet. I have changed the octaves in both parts in certain bars to suit the bassoon's range, and to avoid overlap. I have obviously removed the chords in the original viola part, which is now bsn 1, and somtrimes given the lower note in the chord to bsn 2 to give a better balance. Bsn 1 plays top Bb once I have NOT simply lowered the viola part an Octave, which you may find elsewhere. I have also simplified the tricky semi-quaver (sixteenth notes) broken chords passages. It suits the bassoon duet.

The Fairest of the Fair March for Brass Quintet and Optional DrumsBy John Philip Sousa Arranged by Jari VillanuevaScore 2 Trumpets in BbHorn in FTromboneTubaOptional DrumsSubstitute parts for Eb Horn and Baritone T.C .providedThe Fairest of the Fair (1908) by John Philip Sousa was composed for the annual Boston Food Fair of 1908 and is claimed that the memory of a pretty girl he had seen at an earlier fair inspired the composition. Sousa composed The Fairest of the Fair intending his Band to perform it at the annual Boston Food Fair in the fall of 1908. It is the only work of any kind that he composed that year and one of only a handful of compositions that he wrote between 1906 and 1910. He apparently completed it in New York during the summer, as the final page of the original score was signed John Philip Sousa, Camp Comfort, Saranac Lake, Adirondack, New York, July 8, 1908.The march almost missed its premier at the Boston Food Fair. Because of an oversight the music, which Sousa had written and scored out, did not have individual parts written out for the performers. This was discovered the day before the performance. The new composition had received much advanced publicity and it would have been an embarrassment to Sousa not to have it performed. The band’s copyist, Louis Morris, rose to the occasion and on the train to Boston stayed up and copied out the parts so the band could premier the work as advertised on September 28, 1908. In the morning when Sousa found out Morris was working all night he instructed him to finish the work and get some rest. Morris missed the concert and the premier but found an extra $50 in his next paycheck.Published by JV MUSIC Baltimore MD www.jvmusic.net https://youtu.be/KeE5dMnrevU

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533997). In 1935, Germaine Tailleferre was asked to write the stage music for Jean Sarment's play Madame Quinze which was produced by the Comédie Française. The play was about Madame de Pompadour and Louis XV and also featured the Société de la Musique Ancienne (Henri Casadesus playing the viola d'amour, Marius Casadesus on the quinton, Régina Patorni-Casadesus playing the harpsichord, Lucette Casadesus at the viola de gamba, Maurice Devilliers at the bass viol). The production was reprised by the Comédie Française in 1950, this time at the Odéon theatre and Tailleferre revised her score at that time. These three pieces are not present in the 1935 mansucript score at the Paris Opera Libarary. They were apparently added to the score for the 1950 production and are sourced through materials at the Library of the Comédie Française

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1365619 By Suze Pratten. By Suze Pratten. Arranged by Suze Pratten. A Cappella,Celtic,Folk,Irish. 4 pages. Suze Pratten #949954. Published by Suze Pratten (A0.1365619). This is an SATB setting of an excerpt from a Gerard Manley Hopkins poem called Inversnaid. I found the words fashioned in concrete on the wall of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and was very taken by them. Apparently, Hopkins went on a daytrip to the small township of Inversnaid on the eastern bank of Loch Lomond in 1881 and he wrote the poem while there. The song is written in two sections which can be layered and arranged as desired. I have suggested an arrangement on the score but feel free to change this - my only caution is to make sure you include some 'light' and 'shade' in the arrangement...it is not meant to be sung with all parts blazing for the whole length of the song!! High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835449 Composed by Stuart Brown. 20th Century,Contemporary,Spiritual. 37 pages. Stuart Brown Music #4285583. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.835449). If you are looking for a genuinely beautiful and rewarding work for solo voice and piano, to fill a 20-minute time slot, then Idylls is for you. It provides an opportunity for both singer and pianist to demonstrate an ability to communicate a wide range of emotions. It is particularly satisfying for the pianist, whose part is anything but subservient to the vocal line and provides an opportunity to shine. At notated tempo the work lasts just under 18 minutes; the concert première performance (in January 2019) lasted just short of 20 minutes because of the slower tempo at which the performers chose to take the fourth song. While intended primarily for the concert platform, Idylls contains some profoundly Christian themes that may make it suitable also for church use in an appropriate context.Although intended for professional use, Idylls may be within the technical capability of advanced high school students, noting that the third song ('Of old sat Freedom on the heights') has a piano part that was described as 'challenging' by the professional pianist who first performed it in public (Jonathan Ellis, January 12th, 2019).As noted above, Idylls can work for church services in various contexts, although not all of the songs are necessarily appropriate to the same context. The lyrics themselves provide the best guidance in this respect. From observing the rehearsal sessions of the two professionals who first performed the work (Chen Wang and Jonathan Ellis), the composer suggests that none of the songs - however apparently straightforward - should be taken for granted. There are nuances in all of them that require careful attention to timing and pitch. The vocal entries in the opening song require careful attention to pitch. In the second song concentrate on the timing and making it sound as light and dance-like as possible. The third song requires the singer to keep an E-flat in mind at all times (in order to pitch entries) and to sing to strict meter regardless of what the pianist is playing. The fourth song requires both grace and intensity. Pitch is the main issue, particularly some of the B-natural entries; pay special attention to timing in the first verse. The fifth and final song is melodically straightforward; pay attention to timing in the second verse.Stuart Brown composed Idylls in early 2015 specifically for the London-based Chinese soprano Chen Wang. She performed it in public for the first time, accompanied by Manchester-based pianist Jonathan Ellis, at a concert in the southwest of England in January 2019.Performing rights are handled in the UK by PRS for Music, in Canada by SOCAN, in the USA by ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1404521 Composed by Noel Gay and Ralph Butler. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson (aka Martycli Piano Guy). 20th Century,Comedy,Jazz,Ragtime,Standards. Score. 9 pages. Martyn Johnson #987601. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1404521). This song was written in 1939 by Noel Gay and Ralph Butler and popularised by Flanagan and Allen, the music hall duo. It was written for the Noel Gay show 'The Little Dog Laughed'. It's a fun song that apparently was one of Winston Churchill's favourites. So my arrangement is a tribute to Bud, Chesney and Winston! My version features a left hand stride piano/ragtime style and goes through the keys of C and F major. There are lots of stride idioms and riffs in the right hand from the likes of Scott Joplin, Fats Waller and early jazz styles as well as popular pianists such as Russ Conway and Winnifred Attwell. If you have problems with the 10ths in the bass just play octaves or single bass notes instead or possibly 'rolling' or 'bouncing' them ie playing one note and jumping as quickly as possible to the next so as to play almost simultaneously.I don't notate dynamics, fingering or pedalling and prefer to leave these to the discretion of the individual pianist as no two teachers ever agree on such matters.Hope you have as much fun playing it as I did arranging it.
