C Instrument - Digital Download SKU: A0.482345 By Matthew Rybicki. By Matthew Rybicki. Arranged by Matthew Rybicki. Jazz. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 3 pages. Published by Matthew Rybicki (A0.482345). Most musicians struggle from time to time with how long it takes to compose new music. That was definitely true of most of these tunes, but Seventh Sun came to me in just a couple hours on a Sunday morning during my writing process. Listening back, it seems I was creating a nod to Chick Corea's Humpty Dumpty, but at the time I wasn't consciously thinking about Chick's masterpiece. The title refers to the day (the seventh sunrise of the week) as well as a play on words referencing the mythological seventh son trope. Gerald Clayton's genius is apparent here, as the tune is extraordinarily hard to play and he had only a short time to learn it.

String Quartet String Quartet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092081 Composed by Franz Anton Hoffmeister. Arranged by Artaria Editions. Classical. Score and parts. 31 pages. Artaria Editions #696220. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1092081). For string quartet Artaria Editions AE171 Edited by Dianne James 31 pages This is a scholarly edition of a public domain work. The three Op.14 Quartets were advertised in the Wiener Zeitung on 15 January, 1791 as the composer's newest works. They were dedicated to M. Joseph de Preuer Senior, a lawyer resident in Linz. Although modest in scope and emotional depth, all three works reveal Hoffmeister as a craftsman of refined musical sensibilities. They show a clear grasp of the conversational style of the genre, as cultivated especially by his great compatriot and true master of the genre, Joseph Haydn, and reveal a kinship with the Mozartian string quartet style in their translucent scoring, harmonic richness and melodic invention. Hoffmeister's liking for third-related juxtapositions is frequently apparent, as is his awareness of the varied textural opportunities - duets and trio scoring for example - offered by the four voices. Taken together, the freshness and vitality of all three Op.14 Quartets make them extremely worthwhile additions to the repertory of 18th-century Viennese string quartets..

Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1111159 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical,Religious,Sacred. 16 pages. RayThompsonMusic #713434. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1111159). Arranged standard wind decet/dectet/bass Mozart's textual inspiration is apparent in the Tuba mirum (Hark, the trumpet) movement, which is introduced with a sequence of three notes in arpeggio, played in B♭ major by a solo tenor trombone, unaccompanied, in accordance with the usual German translation of the Latin tuba, Posaune (trombone). Two measures later, the bass soloist enters, imitating the same theme. At m. 7, there is a fermata, the only point in all the work at which a solo cadence occurs. The final quarter notes of the bass soloist herald the arrival of the tenor, followed by the alto and soprano in dramatic fashion. On the text Cum vix justus sit securus (When only barely may the just one be secure), there is a switch to a homophonic segment sung by the quartet at the same time, articulating, without accompaniment, the cum and vix on the strong (1st and 3rd), then on the weak (2nd and 4th) beats, with the violins and continuo responding each time; this interruption (which one may interpret as the interruption preceding the Last Judgment) is heard sotto voce, forte and then piano to bring the movement finally into a crescendo into a perfect cadence. My arrangement gives the trombone part to the first horn, and the vocal entries are given to the 4 wind instruments (All Player 1) I have added some additional sustaining notes on the horns, under the syncorpated section. Section III of the requiem is titled “Sequenz†(sequentia or sequence). It is made up of the following pieces I have arrangements of all of them, for varying types of ensemble * Dies irae * Tuba mirum * Rex tremendae * Recordare * Confutatis * Lacrymosa I have also arranged Mozarts Motet “Ave Verum Corpus†K618.

The carol is frequently interjected by Culloton's own lovely melody, conveying a ritornello form. The composer's intimate knowledge of choral writing is apparent in his arrangement. A true treasure.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023436 Composed by Theresa Koon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 8 pages. Theresa Koon #5730993. Published by Theresa Koon (A0.1023436). Homage to Beethoven includes five main themes which overlap fugally to some degree, however this music is not intended to directly reflect the tantot recherchée elements of Beethoven’s composition.  It is more specifically inspired by the tantot libre angularity, the exquisitely controlled chaos, and the agonized outrage apparent in Beethoven’s controversial Fugue.  The final Lento section is intended to express uneasy grief over the price of Beethoven’s newfound independence:  the death of innocence.  (Detailed program notes available.)

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1260025 Composed by Guillame de Machaut, 1300-1377. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 86 pages. Jmsgu3 #853210. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1260025). INSTRUMENTATION: 2 Clarinets in Bb, 1 Alto Calrinet, 1 Bass Clarinet1. Kyrie2. Gloria3. Credo4. Sanctus5. Agnus dei6. Ite missa estGuillaume de Machaut composed the Messe de Nostre Dame, also known as the Mass of Our Lady, in the early 1360s. He wrote the mass for the Cathedral at Reims, where he served as a canon, a permanent clergy member. According to a rubric found at the Cathedral, it would have likely been performed for the Saturday Lady Mass. Guillaume de Machaut's Messe de Nostre Dame is significant in the history of music for several reasons:1. It is the first complete setting of the Ordinary of the Mass by a single composer that has survived.2. It is a unified mass, meaning that the composer selected relevant chants for each section as the borrowed tenor.3. It was composed in four voices, which was unusual at the time.4. The texts of both Gloria and Credo are quite lengthy, and therefore Machaut set these movements in a style reminiscent of the earlier discant style, having short phrases, similar rhythmic motion in all parts, and a low ratio of notes per syllable of text, both ending with long, rhapsodic sections for the final word, Amen.Machaut's Messe de Nostre Dame is a landmark in musical history, but it is far from being avant-garde merely for the sake of uniqueness. It is considered to be a culmination of the musical style of the Ars Nova period, which was characterized by complex polyphonic textures and rhythmic innovations. The mass is also significant because it was composed during a time of great political and social upheaval in Europe, and it reflects the changing attitudes towards religion and music during this period. Overall, Machaut's Messe de Nostre Dame is a significant work that represents a culmination of the musical style of the Ars Nova period and reflects the changing attitudes towards religion and music during the 14th century. The mass consists of five movements: Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei, followed by the dismissal Ite, missa est. The tenor of the Kyrie is based on Vatican Kyrie IV, the Sanctus, and Agnus correspond to Vatican Mass XVII, and the Ite is on Sanctus VIII. The Gloria and Credo have no apparent chant basis, although they are stylistically related to one another. The mass is a unified mass, meaning that the composer selected relevant chants for each section as the borrowed tenor. The Messe de Nostre Dame is significant in the history of music because it is the first complete setting of the Ordinary of the Mass by a single composer that has survived. It is also significant because it was composed during a time of great political and social upheaval in Europe, and it reflects the changing attitudes towards religion and music during this period. Overall, the Messe de Nostre Dame was an important part of the liturgical practices of the time, and it is still regarded as a masterpiece of medieval music and of all religious music.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.925020 Composed by Jen Wagner. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Jen Wagner #4623157. As the tension builds and harmonies become more complex the piece escalates to its climax and comes to an abrupt end. After a slight pause, the calm settles in.  Judgement has been passed and the tenors transition us to the Píe Jésu section with Dóna éis réquiem, surrounded by the return of the melodic motif meant to appear as the angels delivering the assurances of God’s mercifulness.  The final phrase dóna éis réquiem, is sung with cross voicing found in the tenor and bass section representing the ascension to heaven as the harmonies settle into their final resting place.
