I duly arranged the whole piece for performance by our quartet. While we played, we could hear many voices softly joining in! It's one of those sorts of piece and I think this may be one of the few (if any) purely instrumental versions of this work. The notes, staff, and all elements are proportionately enlarged to 2 or 2.5 times the size of regular sheet music. This size is what the majority of our low-vision musicians have requested. Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and I’ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! When I was a teenager, my dad and brother would often choose the films we’d watch. When they chose Pirates of the Caribbean I was a bit sceptical at first because I thought it might be too scary, but I quickly fell in love with the film and its soundtrack – it became my favourite film series and I ended up listening to the soundtrack almost every day on the walk to and from school. In the films, the character of Davy Jones plays an iconic organ on his ship, the Flying Dutchman – I think it’s one of the most well-known organ references in contemporary cinema, and so it is one of my most requested pieces. I I also love the fact that Hans Zimmer includes a little nod to Bach’s Toccata in D minor, another piece which sits at the top of my request list. In the film, the start and end of this piece is played by a musical locket, perfectly replicated by the Celeste stop on the organ, although if a Celeste stop isn’t available then a soft 8’ flute would do the job!  - Anna Lapwood.

Pride, pomp, and circumstance of glorious war! – It is these words from Shakespeare's Othello that the probably best-known work by the English composer Sir Edward William Elgar falls back on: the five marches which are contained in Pomp and Circumstance Marches, op. 39. The work was a sensational success from the very beginning, especially March No. 1 should be going around in the head of every lover of classical music. At its premiere in 1901 under the composer's direction, the audience requested two repeats; in 1902 the words of 'Land of Hope and Glory' were added to the march at the request of Edward VII for his coronation ceremonial. The resulting version is now performed every year at the Last Night of the Proms and as English hymn at the Commonwealth Games. Motivated by the success of the first two marches, Elgar composed another three which were performed in 1905, 1907 and 1930. No. 4 is as euphemistic and formal as No. 1 whereas the others are of a rather melancholy nature.

I began this piece when I was a student with the intention of sending it to a composition competition. I composed the first 29 measures and then left it to do another project. The sketch sat in a pile for a few years until I came in contact with KarlWentzel. Karl requested a piece for the same instrumentation; a piece perform himself and to have for his students to perform. On getting this request, I dug out that sketch and completed the piece. I think it is a fine example of my progressionfrom a student to a more honed composer.Western Serenade begins with a nice pastoral melody tossed back and forth between the two soloists. The piece then alternates between pastoral and dramatic moods and closes with an exciting and surprising presto coda.This version of Western Serenade was written for flute, clarinet, and piano.

This composition for string quartet was composed in 2011 at the request of Danielle Rosaria Cummins and the organization Alternate Avenues. The piece existed originally as only an unfinished sketch for solo piano, started some years prior; When Wallin Huff was requested to compose a quick-and-dirty string quartet arrangement of the traditional tune Amazing Grace for a formal fundraising banquet being held in two days, Wallin Huff was inspired to take her old sketch of In the Forest and turn it into this present gem of a string quartet that was instantly well-received and sought after.

IDIOM was originally written at the request of Philip Myers who was a friend and colleague of the composer when they both performed with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The name, IDIOM comes from the style of writing which reflects the typical use of the French horn in Romantic composition. There are the hunting calls, the hand stopped stings, the long melodic lines, and the waltz...all taken from the customary uses of the instrument and developed into the original work for solo horn. The composer's husband, Richard Raum, who plays trombone requested this transcription.
