Piano - Digital Download SKU: BQ.979-0-50179-143-9 Composed by Emil Hartmann. Edited by Stephen Begley. This edition: softcover. Bisel Classics. Score. With Text Language: English / German. 28 pages. Published by Bisel Classics - Digital (BQ.979-0-50179-143-9). ISBN 9790501791439.This ambitious sonata in four movements is a progressive step upwards from Hartmann's first sonata with its more sophisticated treatment of modality and form. The technical range of the piece remains within the grasp of the intermediate pianist but the same agility and imagination at work in the first sonata is evident here too, and the more exploratory techniques the composer uses reveal a contemporary aspect to his writing that feels fresh and modern.

Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1423375 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by John Burkett. 19th Century,Romantic Period. Score. 9 pages. John Burkett #1004688. Published by John Burkett (A0.1423375). Grieg did not write any music for the organ, but some of his short compositions for piano in his multi-opus series of Lyric Pieces can be successfully adapted for performance on the pipe organ.  I have arranged several of them, employing 3-stave scores, along  with indications for what manuals to play on, and suggestions for registration changes.  My arrangements reveal, I think, that Grieg's piano pieces take on new dimensions with the organ's variety of timbres and wide dynamic range.  They all would serve well on a recital program and some could be used in church services as well.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other arrangements for organ in my Grieg Transcription Series.  You may also be interested in my many hymn tune arrangements, some for organ and others for piano.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1392100 Composed by Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829). Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical. Individual part. 19 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #975591. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1392100). PREFACE AND BRIEF ANALYTICAL NOTESThe three sonatinas op.71 by Mauro Giuliani in C, G, and D were first published in 1816 in Vienna and were intended as student pieces of progressive difficulty. In parallel with this intention they are also fully developed three-movement works which reveal Giulianiâ??s technique as a composer with harmony, counterpoint, and structure. They certainly have the time length and the variety of full scale sonatas, but here Giuliani has chosen to use the supporting structures of sonatas met in movements other than the first, such as Menuetto and Trio, Rondo, Marcia and Trio, Scherzo and Trio, etc,  rather than sonata form itself. As it stands, this first sonatina in C has the following three movements:1 Maestoso (Moderato) which is a set of a theme and three variations, or better termed as a set of mathematical divisions reminiscent of an earlier era, as the accompaniment of the theme is given in crotchets, quavers, quaver triplets, and semi-quavers.2 Menuetto-Trio-Menuetto da capo written typically in the subdominant key of F and fully developed as per classical 19th century usage.3 Rondo. This movement is also written in a classical rondo style and form as an A-B-A-C-B-A-codetta  structure, with a typical tonal scheme of A in the tonic Key (C), B in the dominant key (G), and C in the relative minor key (Am).Therefore in this work we do not meet with structural innovations of any kind, but with strong affirmation of already existing and well established early 19th century structural norms, but the beautiful personal melodic and harmonic style of Giuliani and even his routine guitaristic nuances and formulas are present in all three movements and can be enjoyed as always.TECHNICALThis publication keeps each separate movement within the limit of two pages, thus avoiding page turns. It is published with two versions of the same pieces given in undecorated and decorated pages for the user to select which version he prefers to print out. Blank pages have been provided for insertion/deletion for the correct placement of left-right hand pages.Metronome marks are only editorial suggestions that need not be taken too literally.Sibelius Mp3 archive has been extracted for this publication using Note Performer playback engine.Socrates ArvanitakisLondon 2024.

The Boy Next Door is a 1944 popular song by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane. It was introduced in the musical film Meet Me in St. Louis, where it was performed by Judy Garland to an arrangement of Conrad Salinger conducted by Georgie Stoll. It has been praised as a perfect example of how to advance a story and reveal a character’s emotions efficiently on screen. In 1954 Vic Damone sang it in the first minutes of the film Athena. It has subsequently become a popular jazz standard, performed by many artists. It is sometimes performed and recorded under the title The Girl Next Door..

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0014563_T1 1st B-flat Trumpet. Composed by Jeanne Vultaggio. Instructional. Part. 1 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0014563_T1. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0014563_T1). UPC: 038081394978.Star-Rise is a programmatic work depicting the progress of the stars across the night sky. Bells set the tone with a simple three-note melody as twilight falls and the first stars appear. Percussion effects represent crickets and cicadas chirping in the background. The texture becomes more chorale-like as related but distinct themes reveal themselves, representing rising constellations. As the star themes gently roll by, the harmony grows warmer and the melody becomes more grandiose in preparation for the final star-rise: the arrival of the morning sun. The work is a great exercise in part layering. -The Instrumentalist.

Clarinet, double bass and piano - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q23803 Composed by Wilfried Hiller. This edition: performance score. Clarinet Library. Downloadable, Performance score. Duration 8 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q23803. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q23803). 'Kaddish (Aramaic: ’holy’) is the Jewish mourning prayer recited for the dead. My Kaddisch für David Stahl was conceived to honour the memory of the long-serving chief musical director of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and begins with a lyrically flowing lament on the clarinet which towards the end rears up in a despairing wail of grief. The piano and double bass punctuate the arching structure of the melody with an aggressive and urgent three-note phrase which should sound as if ’hammered in steel’, symbolising the three syllables ’Da-vid Stahl’. The work culminates with an original Jewish melody for Psalm 119 with the following text: ’Your word is a lamp to my feet, shadows and light reveal the width and depth of the path of my life.’ Wilfried Hiller.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.901539 Composed by Ginger Fairbanks. Arranged by Ginger Fairbanks. Christian,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Ginger Fairbanks #3892703. Published by Ginger Fairbanks (A0.901539). Though written in 1757, this hymn by Robert Robinson and John Wyeth continues to resonate with Christians seeking divine grace. Ginger’s powerful arrangement expresses the emotions of the text, with poignant soft sections, a soaring climax, and dissonant notes that reveal the conflict in the phrases, Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love. Throughout the song, the arrangement carries an air of hope, then ends triumphantly as the words invite us to turn our will to God and ask him to make us something more than ourselves, saying, Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for thy courts above. This melody-centric arrangement for the intermediate pianist is well-suited for worship services and occasions when you want to inspire your listeners.Listen to this song in its entirety on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/68sJ3cgLo60l50ngysdki2

Tenor Saxophone Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912905 Composed by Brandon Nelson. Concert,Contemporary. Individual part. 6 pages. Brandon Nelson #1954833. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.912905). According to Homer (Odyssey iv:412), the sandy island of Pharos, situated off the coast of the Nile delta, was the home of Proteus, the old god of the sea. In the Odyssey, Menelaus relates to Telemachus that he had been becalmed here on his journey home from the Trojan War. He learned from Proteus’ daughter Eidothea that if he could capture her father, he could force him to reveal which of the gods he had offended and how he could propitiate them and return home. Proteus emerged from the sea to sleep among his colony of seals, but Menelaus was successful in holding him, though Proteus took the forms of a lion, a serpent, a leopard, a pig, even of water or a tree. Proteus then answered truthfully, further informing Menelaus that his brother Agamemnon had been murdered on his return home, that Ajax the Lesser had been shipwrecked and killed, and that Odysseus was stranded on Calypso’s Isle Ogygia. This piece, for solo tenor sax, illustrates that mighty conflict between Menelaus and Proteus. Each movement illustrates a different form the god took in his attempt to evade sharing his knowledge. Composition The rhythmic motives are based on the ancient Greek poetic meters. I translated these patterns of long and short sounds to musical notation (using the sixteenth note as the basic unit). I randomized the order and deployed the resulting phrase as a sort of idee fixe. Each movement uses this rhythmic idea beginning at a different point. The melodic content is based on a pentatonic set and its permutations, primarily its modes. I arrayed these pitches into a grid (not unlike the matrix used in dodecaphonic music) and assigned pitches to the rhythmic motives using differing deployment schemes (rotation, chaining, etc).
