If the guitar part seems sometimes difficult, play the chords - it works! I suggest you to play it at a lower tempo than Parisotti's tempo. Notice that Parisotti's version is in G minor and the orchestral version is in B minor, sounds great for strings. The Moon Song has also worked very well as accompaniment for one or more contemporary dancers.The piece is written in a flamenco rhythm called siguiriyas. It may look complicated on the page, but is counted more simply in 5 beats, with three short and two long beats: [1] and [2] and [3] and uh [4] and uh [5] and In this case, the 1, 2, and 5 are the short beats and the 3 and 4 are long beats. This pattern repeats regularly throughout the piece, though there are a couple of extra bars interspersed to allow for breathing space at the end of certain phrases.The piece was inspired by the early 20th century Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca's poem of the same name, hence the use of the flamenco rhythm. The poem's dark, moody nature fits the cello's character very well.

Some specialists point out that its origin would be Sephardic, although the first known versions date back to the 19th century. Collected by Spanish poet Federico García-Lorca in 1931, still today it can be heard sung as part of the folk tradition of Spain.The song tells us about a woman (Tarara) who walks through the fields dancing, with add clothing and somewhat strange behavior, most likely crazy. Children would follow her and laugh loudly while playing and dancing.This piano piece presents the theme accompanied by a simple harmonization, followed by 5 variations, each of which uses the theme as material. The first variation (Tarara and the children) watches the scene from outside, while variations 2 to 5 describe the character of La Tarara from inside her own point of view.
