“Old Hundredth” probably is one of the most beloved and well known hymns. It’s heard in churches throughout the whole world. Of course there are many compositions written on this tune. A short while ago, my friend Ausra created a beautiful Toccata over it. You can listen to that one here. But, there is never enough music in the world, so I tried to create my own version. I deliberately choice for contrasting harmonies in both hands to create some tension and excitement. The Cantus Firmus is played with the pedals. I hope you like it!

Written on Tuesday, July 16 2024, early in the morning just after my first espresso, this piece is a reflection of my calm start of the day. 

The piece starts in C major with a solo voice accompanied by rich strings and a subtile pedal. That part is followed up by a high pitch solo part exclusively in 16th notes. After the high pitch solo, the main melody returns in G major to be ending with a repeat in the original key of C major. I Hope you like this one!

Written on Thursday evening, juni 20 2024 after a long day with difficult Philosophical/Ethics challenges (my day job), this piece transport the listener to Italy on a warm, sunny day in summer. The piece, written in A minor with a modulation to C major in the middle part is a warm, reflective composition, suitable for many occasions.

This fanfare is a great piece as a Postlude for a church service, or even a Entrada. But of course, it is usable in many occasions, including recitals. This piece, written in C major with a modulation to E Flat Major was a lot of energy. It loves strong voices, including fiery reeds, both in the manual and in the pedal. Hoewever, it doesnt loose it's strenght when played with a more mellow registration. If carefully played, it can even be performed on a one manual organ with pedals.

This work is inspired by a drive over Loop Road Scenic Drive in the Everglades in Florida. A 40 miles dirt track without houses, businesses or people. Just nature and a lot of wild life. It's written in D Dorian and flows gentle like the River of Grass, the alternative name from the Everglades. The first and the last part have a ostinato accompaniment, the middle part uses jazz chords to spice the piece up! It can be truncated at will, mkaing it flexible to use for all kind of occasions.
