Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802596 Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 2 pages. Peet du Toit #5889329. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802596). Perhaps Rimsky-Korsakov's most celebrated work.Sultan Schahriar, convinced of the unfaithfulness of women, swore to execute each of his wives after the first night. But the Sultana Shéhérazade saved her life by diverting him with the stories which she told him during a thousand and one nights. The Sultana so roused the Sultan's curiosity with the stories told him, that he continually delayed her execution. Finally, he renounced his terrible vow altogether. Shéhérazade told the Sultan many amazing stories, blending the verses of poets with the words of songs, combining fairy tales with adventures.

Raymond Fenech #644569. Published by Raymond Fenech (A0.1039654). Flight of the Bumblebee (Russian: Полёт шмелÑ) is an orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899–1900. Its composition is intended to musically evoke the seemingly chaotic and rapidly changing flying pattern of a bumblebee. Despite the piece's being a rather incidental part of the opera, it is today one of the more familiar classical works because of its frequent use in popular culture. The piece closes Act III, Tableau 1, during which the magic Swan-Bird changes Prince Gvidon Saltanovich (the Tsar's son) into an insect so that he can fly away to visit his father (who does not know that he is alive). The duration of this is 2.07 minutes and it is a difficult level piece.
