Cello and piano - Digital Download SKU: BQ.979-0-50179-109-5 Composed by Carl Gottlieb Reissiger. Edited by Nicolas Di Paolo. This edition: softcover. Bisel Classics. Score. With Text Language: English / German. Opus 147. 72 pages. Published by Bisel Classics - Digital (BQ.979-0-50179-109-5). ISBN 9790501791095.Although Reissiger is best remembered as a composer of opera, he wrote over 200 works in the genres of sacred music, chamber music and music for the theatre. He was acclaimed during his lifetime, but his star waned after his death, eclipsed by more stellar musical personalities such as his great rival, Wagner. Reissiger's Grande Sonata is a mature work that recalls the Classical form at its most elegant and merits the attention of any cellist seeking a satisfying concert work.

Ukulele - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1136703 By Michael P Walker. By Adrian Le Roy. Arranged by Michael P Walker. Classical,Renaissance. Score. 90 pages. Michael P Walker #736705. Published by Michael P Walker (A0.1136703). Adrian Le Roy and his cousin Robert Ballard founded the printing firm Le Roy & Ballard, and in August 1551 obtained a royal privilege from Henry II to print music. In February 1553, the company was awarded the title of imprimeur du Roi en musique. Over the following two decades, other rival companies dropped out of the market, and from the 1570s onwards Le Roy & Ballard enjoyed a virtual monopoly in music publishing. The publishing house lasted until the 19th century. While Robert Ballard looked after the business side, Le Roy was the artistic director. He achieved renown as a composer and arranger of songs and instrumentals, his published work includes at least six books of tablature for the lute, 5 volumes for the guitar, and arrangements for the cittern. These compositions are presented in the same order as they appeared in the original work published in Paris by Le Roy et Ballard. They were transcribed from a facsimile edition of the original manuscript and every effort has been made to transcribe the original tablature into modern, easy-to-play, tablature and notation.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.735936 Arranged by Andrew Middleton. Romantic Period. Score and part. 6 pages. Andrew Middleton #5828897. Published by Andrew Middleton (A0.735936). Morning Journals was composed in 1863 by Johann Strauss, as a friendly rival to the composer Jacques Offenbach who composed a waltz around the same time titled Evening Papers. As this is one of Strauss's early waltzes it demonstrates how he developed the waltz style into his later works. This arrangement for bassoon and piano is also available for flute, oboe, clarinet and saxophone too!For more updates on new arrangements follow my Facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/a.middletonmusic/ Or subscribe to my Youtube page at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCClIYqddA2wMpdaxSq3BKEw?view_as=subscriber

Orchestra, choir and 4 soloists ad. lib. - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q21225 From the opera The Midsummer Marriage. Composed by Sir Michael Tippett. This edition: study score. Choral music - Ernst Eulenburg - Score. Eulenburg Miniature Scores. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 29 minutes. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q21225. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q21225). English • German • French.Tippett’s decision to extract the four Ritual Dances from his opera 'The Midsummer Marriage' as a self-contained concert suite reflects the fact that the medium of dance was always present in his conception of the opera. From the start, there was to be an interaction within the opera between the real world and the world of mythology, partly Greek, partly Celtic. This mythological element culminates, in the finished opera, in the 'Ritual Dances' of Acts 2 and 3. Tippett himself described his opera as ‘a kind of elaborate 'L’après midi d’un faune’, in which the 'Ritual Dances' display a powerful sexual energy, though of a very different kind from Debussy’s voluptuous langour. Composition of The Midsummer Marriage occupied Tippett for six years from 1946 to 1952. The first performance of the Ritual Dances as a concert suite was given in Basel on 13 February 1953 by the Basel Kammerorchester conducted by Paul Sacher, and preceded the premiere of the complete opera by two years. Today the Ritual Dances rival the Concerto for Double String Orchestra (ETP 1331) as Tippett’s most widely-performed orchestral work.

Flute and piano - easy to intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7052 Chorale from the Cantata No. 147 Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q7052. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7052). The Air by Johann Sebastian Bach at best can rival his setting Jesus bleibet meine Freude for popularity: The final chorus from the cantata BWV 147 Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life is really catchy because of its simplicity and perfection of which one can hardly get enough. The present arrangement makes this classical hit an ideal performance and concert piece for a solo instrument with piano or organ accompaniment.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.766945 Composed by Bob Delfausse. 20th Century,Concert,Country,Holiday,Patriotic,Standards. Score and parts. 67 pages. Robert Delfausse #2343189. Published by Robert Delfausse (A0.766945). This 3-movement brass quintet is program music, in that it is written in the style usually used to depict the American West, and frequently has the instruments taking on the speaking roles of cowboys or other western characters.  The first movement has a group of cowboys sitting around a campfire telling tall tales (at least this is what I had in mind).  In the second movement ranchers (or farmers) are waiting desperately for rain, which comes only briefly.  The third movement involves rival families, a surprise wedding, and a square dance.  Silly, maybe, but it helped me write the music, which is fun to play.  Suitable for advanced intermediate and professional quintets.  Duration: 11 minutes, 11 seconds.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.535376 Composed by Gregory Sullivan Isaacs. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 11 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2803949. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535376). Gather Us In is an excerpt from Undelivered, a cantata written about the speech that John F. Kennedy never gaev in Dallas in November, 1963. In this piece for chorus and piano, Suzanne Calvin adapted this text from the Oxford Book of Prayer originally by G.D. Matheson (1842-1906). The work is suitable for both religious services and concert performances. Gather us in, Thou love that fillest all;Gather our rival faiths within thy fold.Rend each man’s temple-veil and bid it fall,That we may know that Thou hast been of old;Gather us in.Gather us in: we worship only Thee;In varied names we stretch a common hand;In diverse forms a common soul we see;In many ships we seek one spirit-land;Gather us in.Each one sees one colour of thy rainbow-light,Each looks upon one tint and calls it heaven;Thou art the fullness of our partial sight; We are not perfect till we find the seven;Gather us in.

Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488233 Composed by Leopold Hofmann. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. 83 pages. Artaria Editions #1065120. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488233). A near contemporary and rival of Haydn, Leopold Hofmann was held in the highest regard in his native Vienna where he served as Kapellmeister at St Stephen's Cathedral, a position to which Mozart might have succeeded had he lived. Hofmann was a prolific composer of instrumental music and he wrote a good deal of chamber music although much of it has been lost. Hofmann also composed a substantial body of chamber music for strings and among the most interesting of these works are the Six Sonatas for Violin & Basso. The sonatas are as a whole more technically difficult than any of the composer's other chamber works with violin. In some respects, particularly in their extensive use of double-stopping and two-part textures in the violin part, they are more technically demanding than his violin concertos. There is no attempt, however, to involve the basso in the presentation of thematic material and in this respect the sonatas are quite unlike Hofmann's one extant Duo for Violin and Violoncello (Badley II.D2) in which the two parts are treated equally. In view of their technical difficulty and limited dissemination it is difficult to understand Hofmann's motivation for composing the sonatas. Their exploration of multiple-voicing, particularly in first and second movements, and the use of a Minuet with variations for five of the finales – all of which follow a similar pattern of technical exploitation – suggests that the sonatas may have been composed by Hofmann in the first instance as teaching pieces.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534136 Composed by Louis Adolphe Mayeur. Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 49 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3133403. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534136). Louis Adolphe Mayeur (1837 - 1894), was a Belgium clarinetist, saxophonist, composer and conductor who spent most of his musical career in France; Entering the French Military in 1855, he was a clarinetist in the Second Régiment of the Cuirassiers (Mounted Calvary) of the Garde Impériale. A student of Klosé at the Paris Conservatory, he received his First Prize in Clarinet in 1860. One of the inner circle of Adolphe Sax (along with fellow Belgiums Jules Demersseman and Jean-Baptiste Singelée, whose “Quartet for Saxophones“ was premièred with Mayeur playing and Demersseman conducting), Mayeur took up the saxophone and was quickly engaged as the saxophone soloist in the Opera House of Brussels, La Monnaie (the Mint). Sax commissioned a number of works from Mayeur for the saxophone, which were published by his company and used in his class at the Paris Conservatory.By 1871, Mayeur was also named Saxophone Solo with the Paris Opera, performing in opears and ballets by Halévy, Meyerbeer, Thomas, Saint-Saens, Massenet,   Délibes and Paladlihe. It would appear that sometime during this period, his relations with Sax became difficult, culminating in his publications of works by Buffet-Crampon, one of Sax’s rival companies and one of the main protagonists in the series of lawsuits which led to Sax’s bankrupcy. Mayeur’s own declining health lead to his death in 1894.The Grande Fantaisie de Concert sur Rigoletto dates from 1877. The contrasting sections use motifs from arias and duets from Verdi’s opera. Florid cadenzas seperate the various sections, but those passages should be played in the manner of “bel canto†ornamentation, always lyrical and songlike.  This is the score and solo part for the orchestral version. Versions are available from Musik Fabrik for piano for Symhony Orchestra (on rental : 2222/2000/Timp/hp/strings) and for Concert Band (for sale). The score plus solo part for each of the versions is available for sale, as well as the individual parts for the concert band version
