Piano,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1491671 Composed by Arcangelo Corelli. Arranged by Robert Edward Smith. Baroque,Chamber,Early Music. Score and part. 28 pages. ROBERT EDWARD SMITH MUSIC #1068350. Published by ROBERT EDWARD SMITH MUSIC (A0.1491671). This is an arrangement for viola, harpsichord (or piano) and optional cello of Corelli's famous variations on La Folia.  The original violin version has been transcribed down a fifth so that it lies on the viola as it would on the violin in the original.  The figured bass, a kind of musical shorthand used in the Baroque era, has been realized, that is to say written out in notes rather than numbers in order to make it readable to the average keyboard player.  This is a beautiful and virtuosic work, and is a fine addition to the viola repertoire.
