These arrangements are ideal for weddings, preludes, funerals, and any recital.The origins of Scottish traditional music date back to at least the late Middle Ages, with songs passed down orally until many of the songs were published in collections in the 18th century. Scotland’s National Poet Robert Burns (1759-1796) famously collected Scottish folk songs and adapted many of the melodies to include his poetry. Today, elements of Scottish traditional music are found in epic film soundtracks such as Braveheart, Mary Queen of Scots, and Rob Roy, as well as classical symphonic works including Mendelssohn’s Scottish symphony. Bluebells of Scotland was most famously used by Arthur Pryor in his piece Blue Bells of Scotland for solo trombone and band. There are a few different versions of the melody Turn Again, Thou Fair Elisa, but the melody Robert Burns used (as published in the 1903 edition of The Songs of Robert Burns) is arguably the most beautiful. The timeless song Annie Laurie describes the ill-fated romance between Scottish soldier William Douglas and Annie Laurie, the young daughter of a British aristocrat. The music is often attributed to Lady John Scott (1810-1900).

Autor y compositor de la célebre danza Negrita.Este bambuco es tema de discusión por algunos estudiosos e investigadores musicales, los cuales suponen que este bambuco es original del maestro antioqueño Carlos Vieco Ortíz por su estilo y forma melódica y armónica. Púes en algún momento tuvo un encuentro con este buen cantante, al cual le confió uno de sus cuadernos con sus obras para estudiarlas, y luego fue devuelto lamentablemente con algunas páginas arrancadas de dicho libro; a lo cual el maestro Vieco no mostró disgusto, ni hizo reclamo, dada su pacífica actitud y tranquilo temperamento.Algunos se basan en un sugestivo título del pasillo de Carlos Vieco llamado: Saltando Polínes. A lo que el investigador Javier Gutiérrez Villegas afirma que:...No todas las canciones de Vieco tuvieron ese origen trascendente ni fueron estrenadas con solemnidad. Y dejando a un lado la actitud circunspecta, nos relata el nacimiento del pasillo Saltando polines: en 1932, plena guerra con el Perú, se juntaron en La Bastilla Alberto Ã�ngel Vallejo el aplaudido barítono, Roberto Muñoz Londoño, educador y poeta, y él.
