Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1248051 Composed by Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan. Arranged by Ted R. Marcus. 19th Century,Chamber,Romantic Period,Wedding. 31 pages. Ted R. Marcus #842615. Published by Ted R. Marcus (A0.1248051). Day Dreams is a collection of six solo piano miniatures the young Arthur Sullivan published in 1867. The pieces amply demonstrate a natural melodic gift that would reach full fruition in the enduring comic operas Sullivan wrote with W.S. Gilbert. This is a contrasting pair of Daydreams, numbers 2 and 6, arranged for woodwind quintet. The first Daydream, Robert and Clara, is an expressive cantabile aria that evokes the music of Robert Schumann. The oboe, clarinet, and horn sing the complete melody, but everyone gets at least a fragment of it. (This selection is great for weddings and church services as well as for the concert hall.) The second, À l'Hongroise, is the flashy finale of the Day Dreams collection. It's a spirited Hungarian-inspired dance with a chromatic melody in shifting tonality, with harmonic turns audacious enough to thrill even 21st century listeners, culminating in a wide-ranging arpeggio passage for the four woodwinds. Both selections are transposed up half a step from the original keys of D major and f-sharp minor. Arranged for advanced players, the two selections make a great concert opener, closer, or encore. Duration: 6:12Please visit my Web site to explore more classics for adventurous woodwind quintets.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565116 By Sharon Wilson. By Robert Lowry. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Easter,Folk,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 20 pages. Sharon Wilson #3431319. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565116). This mixed level, 1 piano, 4-hands duet arrangement of the familiar hymn tune PLAINFIELD is designed for a beginning student to play the PRIMO while an intermediate player (teacher, parent, friend, sibling) plays the SECONDO. All notes in the PRIMO are played singly with the hands in one position centered around middle C and then played one octave higher. The PRIMO can also be played as a solo when played as written. Lyrics are included on the PRIMO for sing-along enjoyment. This song is unique in that the melody only uses five notes and when played in the key of C or F, all notes are played with just one hand with no sharps or flats to worry about. Therefore, this arrangement utilizes both keys allowing both left and right hands in the PRIMO a turn on the melody. The song begins in the key of C major with the PRIMO right hand on melody, then transitions to F major where the PRIMO left hand plays the melody. The song concludes by returning to C major and the PRIMO right hand playing melody again. The purchase price includes a 10-page combined score with both piano parts on each page plus the alternate format with the PRIMO and SECONDO on separate pages (4 pages each). Duration 2:35. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs included in the Easy Piano Duets collection titled What Heavenly Music.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1141383 Composed by Robert W. Padgett. Baroque,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Padgett Music Llc #741707. Published by Padgett Music Llc (A0.1141383). This three-part Invention No. 2 in D minor was composed in the summer of 1991. I shared it with my modal and tonal counterpoint instructor, Professor Richard Wilson, and he responded favorably to my venturesome modulations and use of the Neapolitan chord. Similar to my first invention in A minor, the motive is announced by the upper voice before it is restated an octave lower by the lower voice in bar 2 to form a stretto. In bar 3, the middle voice states the motive in the dominant key of A minor with the lower and upper voices playing the first and second countermotives respectively. An episode ensues and arrives at a half cadence in bar 8. The opening fragment of the motive is exploited in conjunction with a pedal tone and a variant of the second countermotive to navigate through a series of contrasting keys. At bar 14, the motive is reasserted in F-sharp minor layered over itself in stretto with a C-sharp pedal tone in bar 15. The voices from the episode in bars 5-8 are reshuffled in bars 18-21 as another exercise in invertible counterpoint. In measure 16, the motive and two countermotives are reprised in C-sharp minor, a half step below the tonic key. Starting in bar 18, the episode from bars 6-8 is reprised in F-sharp minor with the first and second countermotives exchanging positions. This is followed in bars 16-27 by a varied restatement of the episodic sequence from bars 8-17 that cadences in bar 27 before a restatement of the subject in bar 28 in G minor with slightly embellished countermotives. Bars 32-35 present a restatement of the episode from bars 5-8 with the motive relocated to the lower voice and the two countermotives in intimate proximity in the two upper voices. An unexpected descending scale in a series of compound harmonic 10ths forms an inversion of the second half of the motive and sets the stage for a perfect cadence to a Picardy Third in D major. After so many years, I remain especially pleased with the effect of that ending.

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942953 Composed by Geoffrey Peterson. Contemporary. Score and parts. 43 pages. Geoffrey Peterson #4267231. Published by Geoffrey Peterson (A0.942953). Link to complete recording: https://soundcloud.com/geoffrey-peterson/sets/the-edmund-fitzgerald-concerto On November 9th, 1975, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald left port in Superior, Wisconsin. The 729-foot-long iron ore carrier, loaded with 26 thousand tons of taconite pellets for the auto industry, was bound for Detroit. Earlier that day, the weather service had issued a gale warning. This was not unusual, considering that gale storms are typical during November on Lake Superior. The Fitzgerald’s Captain, Ernest McSorley, and her 29-member crew headed northeast unaware of the maelstrom they would soon encounter. At around 2 a.m., Bernie Cooper, captain of the Arthur M. Andersen, another freighter which was following a few miles behind the Fitzgerald, radioed Captain McSorley to consult with him about the worsening storm. They had both decided to take a more northerly route along the Canadian shore, which they hoped would provide some shelter from the violent gale winds and waves. The Fitzgerald’s long-range radar stopped working the following day and was needed in order to avoid Six-Fathom Shoal, a shallow area of Lake Superior that could rupture the ship’s hull. McSorley soon radioed the Anderson to report that the Fitzgerald had sustained some topside damage...a fence rail down, two vents lost or damaged, and a starboard list. A list meant that the Fitzgerald was taking on too much water and was causing it to lean to one side. The short-range radar also stopped working, and the radio direction beacon from nearby Whitefish Point vanished. This would make it impossible for the Fitzgerald to reach the lee waters of Whitefish Bay and escape the 80 mph winds churning 20 to 30-foot waves. At 7:10 p.m. that night, First Mate Morgan Clark of the Andersen radioed the Fitzgerald to see how they were doing. Captain McSorley replied, We’re holding our own. This was the last contact anyone would have with the Fitzgerald. Shortly thereafter, the Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared from the Anderson’s radar screen. All 29 of her crew were lost on November 10th, 1975. The Edmund Fitzgerald chronicles the tragic final voyage of the well-known shipwreck in 4 movements; Embarkment, The Gales, Six-Fathom Shoal (We’re holding our own.) and Entombment-Dirge. The concerto makes use of several musical quotes. The first is Spanish Ladies, an English sea chantey, which appears in both the 1st and 3rd movements. The second is the funeral march theme from the 2nd movement of Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony which is heard in the 4th movement of the concerto. In addition, a chime is rung 29 times during the final bars of the concerto to memorialize the men who lost their lives. The Crew of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald: Michael E. Armagost, Frederick J. Beetcher, Thomas D. Bentsen, Edward F. Bindon, Thomas D. Borgeson, Oliver J. Champeau, Nolan S. Church, Ransom E. Cundy, Thomas E. Edwards, Russell G. Haskell, George J. Holl, Bruce L.
