Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1103701 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach and Robert Schumann. Arranged by David L. Turkheimer. Baroque. Individual part. 3 pages. David L Turkheimer #706976. Published by David L Turkheimer (A0.1103701). The original suite for cello by Bach is a masterpiece of writing for a melodic instrument. While fun to play on guitar, it does not reward the listener with the harmonic depth which the guitar can deliver. Robert Schumann wrote a piano accompaniment for this suite that provides that harmonic richness. This arrangement mines this to show what the guitar can bring to make up for its lack of bowing. The music has been transposed to A; standard tuning. The other movements are also available.

Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.559916 Composed by Robert Lucas de Pearsall. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Romantic Period. 15 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #5711213. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.559916). Robert Lucas de Pearsall is not a well-known composer, especially to instrumentalists, as he composed mainly for the voice. Pearsall lived in the Romantic period, but wrote music in the style of the Renaissance and Classical periods. He did not have any formal musical education, and appears to have just written music as a hobby. His father was an amateur musician, which is probably where he received his talent for music.

Brass Ensemble Horn - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.919038 Composed by Traditional Scottish Melodies. Arranged by L.C. Harnsberger. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk,Irish,Wedding. Score and parts. 23 pages. LCH Music #6426577. Published by LCH Music (A0.919038). This arrangement of Scottish traditional songs includes three iconic Scottish melodies: Bluebells of Scotland, Turn Again, Thou Fair Elisa, and Annie Laurie. The long soaring melodies and bagpipe-style drones of these songs work beautifully for horn quartet. These arrangements are ideal for weddings, preludes, funerals, and any recital. The origins of Scottish traditional music date back to at least the late Middle Ages, with songs passed down orally until many of the songs were published in collections in the 18th century. Scotland’s National Poet Robert Burns (1759-1796) famously collected Scottish folk songs and adapted many of the melodies to include his poetry. Today, elements of Scottish traditional music are found in epic film soundtracks such as Braveheart, Mary Queen of Scots, and Rob Roy, as well as classical symphonic works including Mendelssohn’s Scottish symphony. Bluebells of Scotland was most famously used by Arthur Pryor in his piece Blue Bells of Scotland for solo trombone and band. There are a few different versions of the melody Turn Again, Thou Fair Elisa, but the melody Robert Burns used (as published in the 1903 edition of The Songs of Robert Burns) is arguably the most beautiful. The timeless song Annie Laurie describes the ill-fated romance between Scottish soldier William Douglas and Annie Laurie, the young daughter of a British aristocrat. The music is often attributed to Lady John Scott (1810-1900).

Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553055 Composed by Scott Camp. Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Scott Camp #3142419. Published by Scott Camp (A0.553055). If you like Lady Allyson's Minuet from Robert Vandall's remarkable Book One of Celebrated Solos, I hope you will enjoy teaching and playing this piece. Mr. Vandall's love for his own students is manifest in his recognition that new pieces needed to be created for contemporary students.  His students, like most others, were starved for something new and fresh.  Mr. Vandall's compositions were a gift to them, and also to us!My compositions for Elementary and Intermediate piano students build on the ideas of composers including Robert Vandall, Catherine Rollin, Martha Mier, Dennis Alexander, E. L. Lancaster, and others.  My unique presentation continues the spirit of Robert Vandall in an important way:  not only are the sounds new for today's students, the means of communcation has also been updated to meet the needs of today's students.  Having all of the fundamental technique on the page in terms understandable to elementary piano students enables students to spend more time playing music rather than figuring out how to play music.I know full well the consequences of this approach:  weaker reading in the short term, which is more than compensated for by correct (and more advanced) technique and ability to play more, and more interesting, music.  The approach I have chosen restores playing music on the piano as the primary focus of the piano student/teacher relationship.  Learning to read music is an important secondary goal, and will, in my experience, stand a better chance of being mastered by students who have played a greater ranger of the compelling music that is available today.(PS I started putting in all the finger numbers and hand positions for elementary students because I couldn't stand hearing and seeing the incorrect technical solutions these wonderful children came up with on their own.  They deserved better.)
