Score and parts. 20 pages. RBMusic #5888049. Published by RBMusic (A0.752413). We'll Meet Again was written in 1939 by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, and made famous by singer Dame Vera Lynn. The song is one of the most famous of the Second World War era. It later gave its name to the 1943 musical film We'll Meet Again, where Vera Lynn played the lead role. During the Cold War, Lynn's recording of the song was included in the package of music and programmes held in 20 underground radio stations of the BBC's Wartime Broadcasting Service (WTBS), designed to provide public information and morale-boosting broadcasts for 100 days after a nuclear attack. In 2005, Vera Lynn sang the song in London on the 60th Anniversary of VE Day in 2005, and, in 2020, a duet with Katherine Jenkins reached number 72 on the UK Singles Chart. Arranged during the 2019/2020 Coronavirus Pandemic in memory of Dame Vera Lynn, who died on 18 June 2020. The arrangement includes alternative parts for various quartet setups (including parts for tenor horn, treble-clef trombone/euphonium, and tubas in both bass and treble clef).   Other searchable terms: Stanley Kubrick, Dr. Strangelove, Liberation Day Concert, Amsterdam, World War II, Benny Goodman, Peggy Lee, Mr. Tambourine Man, Rod Stewart, Perry Como, Barry Manilow, Johnny Cash, The Muppets Go to the Movies, The Muppets, Dudley Moore, Lily Tomlin, The Simpsons, Alfie Boe, VE Day 70, A Party to Remember, ABBA, Pink Floyd, Queen Elizabeth II, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, COVID-19 pandemic virus, NHS Charities Together

Flute Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1278790 Composed by William Ross (1762-1791). Arranged by James Pybus. Celtic,Chamber,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,Wedding,World. 18 pages. James Pybus #870356. Published by James Pybus (A0.1278790). The Skye Boat Song is a late 19th-century Scottish song adaptation of a Gaelic song composed c.1782 by William Ross, entitled Cuachag nan Craobh (Cuckoo of the Tree). In the original song, the composer laments to a cuckoo that his unrequited love, Lady Marion Ross, is rejecting him. The 19th-century English lyrics instead evoked the journey of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) from Benbecula to the Isle of Skye as he evaded capture by government soldiers after his defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It is often played as a slow lullaby or waltz. It entered the modern folk canon in the twentieth century with versions by Paul Robeson, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Roger Whittaker, Tori Amos, and many others. Bear McCreary adapted the song as the opening theme music of the 2014 TV series Outlander, sung by Raya Yarbrough, changing the text of Robert Louis Stevenson's poem Sing Me a Song of a Lad That Is Gone (1892) to Lass to fit the story. This arrangement for SSAB or SSSB Flute Quartet is suitable for a wide variety of performance and concert settings. The duration is 4:13. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
