The music was written by Henry Sullivan, the lyrics by Harry Ruskin. This song was published in 1929 and was included in the musical revue Murray Anderson's Almanac which ran for 69 performances at Erlanger's Theatre on Broadway in 1929. It is said that the song was written on-demand for John Murray Anders. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of our arrangements and we've also included a few left-hand fills to keep the tempo going! We hope you like what we've done with the song!

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1487252 Composed by Ignaz Josef Pleyel. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. Score. 11 pages. Artaria Editions #1064226. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1487252). Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) was at one time the most famous composer in the world. The popularity of his music eclipsed that of even his teacher Haydn and publishers vied to bring out his latest works as soon as they were finished. Some 2000 separate prints of Pleyel works had appeared by 1800 and his fame extended to every corner of Europe and as far afield as North America. Pleyel's career as a composer spanned less than thirty years with the majority of his works composed in the 1780s. He founded a successful publishing house in Paris in the mid-1790s and later began manufacturing keyboard instruments. With increasing demands on his time from his business concerns Pleyel's productivity as a composer dropped sharply and he ceased composing around 1805. Pleyel wrote very little solo keyboard music preferring instead to compose accompanied sonatas (i.e. piano trios). The attractive Rondeau in E flat (Benton 613), suitable for performance by either harp or fortepiano, illustrates many of Pleyel's strengths as a composer. It is attractive, technically resourceful and unerring in its sense of dramatic pace. Its principal theme is lively and distinctive, not too difficult technically and yet rewarding to play. The principal theme and the episodic material are elegantly constructed and reveal a sensitivity to the tone colour of the instrument. The minore section is dramatic and the octave doublings lend it a strength and power which contrasts effectively with the gentle rondeau theme. The final episode, the most technically challenging, adds a thrilling touch of drama to the closing phase of the piece.

C Instrument - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1511772 By The Wolfe Tones. By Fred Fisher, Jesse Lasky, and Sam Stern. Arranged by Thomas Degan. 20th Century,Celtic,Comedy,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. Thomas Degan #1086922. Published by Thomas Degan (A0.1511772). My Brother Sylvest' also known as Big Strong Man, is an American song, but often performed by English folk singers and Irish bands. My Brudda Sylvest' was written in 1908, words by Jesse Lasky and Sam Stern, music by Fred Fisher. The song is written in an Italian-American dialect about the singer's eponymous brother, described in hyperbolic terms as a man of legendary strength capable of extraordinary feats. The original lyric has him blowing out a house fire, pushing the ocean away to allow him to walk to Italy, killing fifty thousand [native American] Indians, and drinking the ocean dry.Subsequent versions changed the references from the boxer John L. Sullivan to the Jeffries-Johnson fight of 1910, to American boxer Jack Dempsey, who started boxing in 1914, and even to John Conteh of Great Britain, who fought in the 1970s. Other changes have included the saving of the RMS Lusitania, sunk during the first World War, and swimming from New York to Italy, drinking all the water in the sea, playing every instrument in a brass band in a visit to Japan.
