The middlesections contain settings of the basic melody—first presented over a bagpipe-like drone (withinterjections) and then in a full harmonization.The second movement, Ceremonial (Nigeria), combines a harmonic refrain along with a simplemelody in the Nigerian/Yoruba folk style.
