Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.752401 Composed by Hughie Charles and Ross Parker. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Opera. Score and parts. 1 pages. RBMusic #5741079. Published by RBMusic (A0.752401). We'll Meet Again was written in 1939 by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, and made famous by singer Dame Vera Lynn. The song is one of the most famous of the Second World War era. It later gave its name to the 1943 musical film We'll Meet Again, where Vera Lynn played the lead role. During the Cold War, Lynn's recording of the song was included in the package of music and programmes held in 20 underground radio stations of the BBC's Wartime Broadcasting Service (WTBS), designed to provide public information and morale-boosting broadcasts for 100 days after a nuclear attack. In 2005, Vera Lynn sang the song in London on the 60th Anniversary of VE Day in 2005, and, in 2020, a duet with Katherine Jenkins reached number 72 on the UK Singles Chart. Arranged during the 2019/2020 Coronavirus Pandemic to commemorate/celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, it is designed for two treble-clef instruments in the same key. This version is in C major (written pitch) – part 1 has a written range from F#4 to G5 and part 2 has a written range from C#4 to D5. (For other parts/versions, see my other We’ll Meet Again titles.) Guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1555 Composed by Stephen Goss. Score. 15 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1555. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1555). Pierrot, or Harlequin? (2023) is based on stock characters from the Italian commedia dell’arte tradition. Columbina has a choice of partner – Pierrot, or Harlequin? Or maybe she will select neither of them. In this set of triple variations, Pierrot and Harlequin compete for Columbina's attention and favour. Pierrot is deep, quiet, thoughtful, and loving, but sometimes melancholic. Harlequin is light-hearted, extrovert, and fun to be with, but somewhat shallow and brash. Columbina herself is coquettish, impulsive, and unpredictable. How will the story end between these imperfect characters? The performer gets to select one of three possible endings as the piece nears its conclusion.Pierrot, or Harlequin? was commissioned by the International Guitar Festival Homenaje 2023. The premiere was given by Giacomo Susani at Barco Teatro, Padova, Italy, on 10th November 2023.Pierrot, or Harlequin? Tuba Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.991806 Composed by Jason Allie. Romantic Period,World. Individual part. 14 pages. Joaba LLC #3129601. Published by Joaba LLC (A0.991806). Description Total Duration: 11 minutes. A vigorous, advanced level work suitable for encouraging students, hobbyists and professionals to improve or show off their performance skills.  In an enjoyable and delightful manner, tubists will build dexterity, endurance, expressiveness, effective volume and range (going up to D/C# above the staff). This work will charm, captivate, and rouse/impress audiences.  A great recital piece or encore piece to show off the melodiousness, harmoniousness and vibrancy of the tuba in whole or in part.  Please send feedback, praises and more to contact@joaba.com. Performance Notes from the Composer Édesen Édesen translates to sweetly in Hungarian, and is this movement’s purpose: to be a centering, calming moment before the following tumult. The first 10 bars serve as an introduction to warm up to the melody. The melody has three contrasting articulations that must be respected: staccato, legato, and normal.  The melody easily leads to high and low range notes-excellent for beginner/intermediate tubists to expand and solidify their range.  Give more air for the range’s extremities so pitches don’t become too thin or muddled. The second theme in the dominant (E major) should be played with luscious legato and bright staccato. LassanLassan translates to slowly in Hungarian usually conveying stateliness or seriousness.  This argumentative movement breaks the former’s idyll and sets the case for the next movement’s defiance and victory. The first section is to be played serious and strong.  Increase air support for the higher pitches.  Make the descending scales resound and bounce off the lowest notes.  The second theme starting at 81 should be played with great charm and ease. For the solo passages, show-off but slow the tempo into the fermatas: (m77-80, m102-103, and m132-133). Friska Friska translates to fresh in Hungarian and in this case, it’s a duality of turbulence and final elation.Start the piece fast, but not too boisterous-embellishments are added in the repeat demanding boisterousness.  Epitomizing the turbulence, the con moto sections (at m161 & m260) emphasize a 1 beat per measure feel-accelerate the tempo as is comfortable.  The digressionary, crab-like sections (at m176 & m275) should be played as light as possible to help build up to the elated sections.  The first elated section (m188) should be played as if gleefully discovered but not yet won; the second elated section (m291), with a victorious finality that cannot be diminished or tarnished.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1153134 Composed by Joseph Hasper. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score and parts. 93 pages. Joseph Hasper #753375. Published by Joseph Hasper (A0.1153134). There are five main sections in this piece, each lasting exactly 21 measures. Why this unlikely number? I chose this number because the percussion parts, which are the driving force behind the piece, are based repeating patterns of 6, 7, and 8 eighth notes. It works out that these patterns only line up every 168 half-beats—which happens only at the end of 21 measures! The title for this piece was provided by Armstrong High School student Aaron Baker and was used as inspiration for the work. The phrase “endless routes†guided my decision to have several main themes instead of just one or two. The themes are widely different in character but share the feature that they each go to the same place—the very last half of the last beat of every twenty-first measure. The Minimalist style of music often features short musical fragments that are repeated many times in different combinations, and I used that technique to create a seemingly “endless†effect in the percussion parts. The percussion parts also use a colotomic structure, a technique often used in gamelan music of the far East. Unlike Western music, which generally has a strong accent on the first beat of a phrase, colotomic music accents the last beat of a phrase. You can hear this in Endless Routes when the percussion parts all become aligned and hit a simultaneous accent at the end of each section. This piece was commissioned and premiered by the Armstrong High School, under the direction of Jason Venesky. Mr. Venesky is a veteran teacher with over twenty years of experience in the Armstrong School District. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance (Tuba) and Music Education Certification and an active performer as Principal Tuba for the Butler County Symphony Orchestra; tubaist for the Armstrong Brass Quintet and Windsor Brass Quintet; and Bass Trombonist for the Gibbons Big Band. Mr. Venesky is currently Instructor of Tuba at Grove City College and Music Director for the Kittanning Community Band. Includes a full score and complete set of parts.
