The lyrics were written by Rinkart in 1636, the melody by Cruger in 1647, and the popular harmony by Mendlessohn in 1840.This arrangement begins with a Handelian keyboard introduction, modulates to the 1st Verse for Unison choir with a new homophonic reharmonization for accompaniment, then modulates to Verse 2 which is a softer Unison with a drone accompaniment and a voice solo antiphon, then a final modulation into Verse 3 which is Unison with optional traditional SATB hymn parts.Since it is in Choral Unison we have used it here in the National Cathedral for gathered massed choirs from around the country to celebrate the official Government Holiday of National Day of Thanksgiving. I am aware that one country has also used this piece as part of the Investiture Ceremony to install their new Bishop. The addition of the Psalm antiphons gives it a Nationalistic angle as well. Bergentrückung is an arrangement of ASGORE from Toby Fox's most known and popular game UNDERTALE, an RPG with a large amount of his original music, art, and story.  ASGORE is both the name of the song, and the character it is associated with. Asgore is the king of the monsters who were sealed within Mt Ebott, and is working towards freeing the monsters and rejoining the humans on the surface.  Although the meaning of Bergentrückung is still not fully known, there is some evidence showing it means Mountain King, King in the Mountain, or King of the Mountain, however consulting with some german speakers it was proven that is not the full meaning. Bergen means mountain in German, however in my research, trückung did not hold a meaning or translation. I did however find a page saying there is German Folklore about a king slumbering in a mountain, however there was no citation nor proof. Google translate will tell you it means Excavate, but my reasearch of asking German speaking people proved that to be wrong.  To the UNDERTALE community Bergentrückung will always mean King of the Mountain, but there is no current real meaning in my reasearch.This arrangement was made for two reasons. The first reason being I wanted a solo for an upcoming Solo Ensemble, however the second reason is there are very few songs I could find made for a Bass soloist, so I wanted to add a possible Bass Solo for future soloists looking for music. This can also be played as a Cello Solo.

My Ballade in F minor remains one of my largest works for piano in terms of scope. A single theme dominates the work in a Romantic style which returns throughout the work amid other sub themes that bolster the piece and heighten the Romantic flair I tried to capture throughout. The work is a 13 pages in length and around 9-10mins in performance. All directions on the score are in standard Italian but I leave the pedaling open to the performer's interpretation, it is however a rather heavy work so do not worry about over indulging in the sustain pedal. I give no metronome marks as I believe strongly in the artistic licence one can take with the Italian directions, also that if one follows them well enough that they will be more than adequate.
