The bulk of the music for both horns lies between middle C and top F The 2nd horn part has been transposed up an octave from the original bassoon part, but in other places left alone , to avoid any cross over of parts. it works well as a horn duet Hn 1 goes up to top Bb Hn.2 goes down to bottom D below middle C.
