Composed by Christopher Tin. Arranged by Christian Jenkins. 20th Century,Multicultural,Video Game,World. Brass Band. 44 pages. Christian Jenkins #812619. Published by Christian Jenkins (A0.1215961).
Composed by Christopher Tin, Baba Yetu was written for the 2005 video game Civilization IV. Â Upon its release, it had the distinction of being the first piece of video game music to be nominated for and win a Grammy Award.
The title of the piece comes from the Swahili for “Our Fatherâ€, and the lyrics are a translation of the Lord’s Prayer.
Since its composition, Baba Yetu has become an established part of the contemporary choral repertoire and has been arranged for various instrumental ensembles.  This arrangement for brass band is inspired by the recording that appears on Tin’s debut album, Calling All Dawns, featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
