Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589792 By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by David McKeown. Children,Christmas,Country,Holiday,Rock. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6096137. Published by David McKeown (A0.589792). This version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is arranged by David McKeown as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. The song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, was written in 1949 by Johhny Marks. The Rudolph story was written by Marks’ brother-in-law, Robert L May, a decade earlier. The success of the song was guaranteed when it was recorded by Gene Autry, a huge star at the time. Initially Gene Autry didn’t like the song and was only persuaded to record it by his wife. She obviously knew best as Rudolph went on to become the second best-selling Christmas record of all time after White Christmas, with versions by everyone from the Jackson Five to Alvin and the Chipmunks. This duet version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is based on the Gene Autry version, with a short introduction, and three choruses of the melody, with a key change and varied accompaniment throughout. Rhythms are simple in a swing style and the range is conservative, so this arrangement is ideal for players at an intermediate level. Easy Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.864790 By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by Dan Severino. Rock. Score. 5 pages. Piano Teacher Press #5223229. Published by Piano Teacher Press (A0.864790). Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer -  by Jane Barnes and David Leslie Froggatt (easier)Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer is probably one of children's most popular Christmas songs.  Gene Autry's recording of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer became the Number 1 song first week of 1950.I made two arrangements of this Christmas Favorite. This is the easier of the two arrangements I made. It is a spunky arrangement providing accented chords, shifting moods and other challenges. It is at the mid-intermediate level of difficulty. The trickier arrangement can be found at: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/21682506?aff_id=537113Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer is great for recitals and family gatherings as well as a great way to have students prepare for the holidays.

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215499 By John Denver. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Kyle L. McKinzey. Christmas,Holiday. Score and Parts. 34 pages. KyleMac Music #812252. Published by KyleMac Music (A0.1215499). Gene Autry, the Singing Cowboy, made this song famous in 1949. Based upon a book by Marks’ brother-in-law, Robert L. May, Marks wanted to put the popular 1939 Montgomery Ward story into song. Johnny Marks, a decorated World War II hero, wrote several popular Christmas songs besides Rudolph. The song’s translation into several languages even had an effect on Finnish Christmas tradition – Rudolph is now head of Joulupukki’s sleigh (the Finnish Santa)!  The only difference is that the Finnish reindeer don’t fly. This arrangement has a fun swing style to it. Harmonization is slightly more advanced from a Grade I tune, but the rhythms and ranges are very approachable for young musicians. The style lets them experience a standard swing feel. The percussion is written for a drum set but can be separated as a traditional part for concert band. Sleighbells can have as many players as you want. I often had children come from the audience and give them little toy sleigh bells to play. This was always a big hit.I hope your students and audiences (and you) have fun with this piece. I appreciate all comments, questions, and critiques. kylemacmusic@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.575713 Composed by David Warin Solomons. Christmas,Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. David Warin Solomons #2027027. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.575713). My song Rupert the Chocolate Angel (Ruprecht der Schoko-Engel / Rupert l'ange au chocolat) (a parody of (or antidote to) that ubiquitous Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer song) uses a new melody which is strangely reminiscent of the reindeer song but is actually quite different. The words were also written by the composer. It has gone though several versions These include: 1 an SAB version in German and English (in which the bass part can also be played by a bass instrument if preferred) (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English and then in German) 2 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in English (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer) 3 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in French (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English) 4 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in German (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English) The pdf files for the unison choir/solo voice versions contain the original song (one line melody in E-flat and C and G with guitar chord names) and versions for piano and for piano and percussion, in the original key of E-flat.

C Instrument - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1130713 By John Denver. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Joshua Tindall. Blues,Christmas,Holiday,Jazz. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 4 pages. JLT Studio #730974. Published by JLT Studio (A0.1130713). Two classic Christmas Tunes: - Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (with a nice little riff) Both of these tunes fit the jazzy swing vibe, try them with a nice clear melody and a simple walking (in 2 or 4) bass line. The improvisation / solo is used as a link between the two tunes. The structure: Rudolph: A1 A2 B C 12-Bar Blues Santa Claus: |: A1 A2 B C :| Using C as the tag for the ending. Keeping that structure looks something like this: Intro (Rudolph) A A B C (Rudolph) D (12-bar blues improv) E E F G H1 H2 I (Santa Claus) J (Santa Claus - outro/tag) *Definitely looks more complex than it really is! Enjoy!
