This is a common theme running through Christmas Carol literature. Conceived as a fun, accessible overture for young bands or bands with limited instrumentation, A Celebration of Bells highlights two of the most beloved Christmas carols associated with bells. The piece begins with a joyful brass bell-tone fanfare accompanied by trilling woodwinds. The introduction gives way to mostly-unison woodwind rendition of I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day. The brass then further works out the melody with a more chordal presentation. The woodwinds present a short, light interlude, followed by an explosive snare drum and full-band chord one key higher than the beginning. The piece shifts to a Jingle Bells march. Following the march, the music modulates back down one key and returns to a full band, Maestoso version of I Heard the Bells. The overture comes to a close with a return to the familiar introductory bell tones. This piece is sure to be a festive hit for both your students and their audience!

He hurriedly composed an overture in standard early romantic sonata form with dark opening chords, two distinct themes, development, restatement, and a final coda. Originally scored for winds, brass and strings, this orchestration contrasts colors between brass and woodwinds where the strings were contrasted between the woodwinds and brass.  This overture is still popular today with audiences and is fun to perform. In My Life is a song by The Beatles released on the 1965 album Rubber Soul, written mainly by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. George Martin, who produced the recording, contributed the instrumental bridge. It is ranked 23rd on Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time as well as fifth on their list of the Beatles' 100 Greatest Songs. The song was recorded on 18 October 1965, and was complete except for the instrumental bridge. At that time, Lennon had not decided what instrument to use, but he subsequently asked George Martin to play a piano solo, suggesting something Baroque-sounding.Martin wrote a Bach-influenced piece that he found he could not play at the song's tempo. On 22 October, the solo was recorded with the tape running at half speed, so when played back at normal pace the piano was twice as fast and an octave higher, solving the performance challenge and also giving the solo a unique timbre, reminiscent of a harpsichord.I have arranged it for a woodwind trio of flute, clarinet and bassoon.
