This is possibly my most performed composition, since: - it is accessible to the audiences - it is technically relatively easy to perform and doesn't require many rehearsals - there are more than 30 versions / arrangements from solo piano over duos and chamber music ensembles to full orchestra. - it can be performed in different occasions ranging from recital to funeral (actually, I performed the organ version of Nomade at my mother's burial). - is a good example of crossover between classical music and popular music. At the age of 15, I had a vision to help people not to forget the good and the bad moments of their lives because once the memories are forgotten, people will never be able to go back and tell stories about how they developed and came to be. â€ƒSome of the lyrics were picked from a poem that was written 4 years ago in 2016 called One Brief Moment by John Fleming. The poem was found on a website that provides poems to those who like reading poems. The website is called poetrysoup.com and I think it's a pretty cool website for poem readers, so if you like poems and you want something new, you can go there and check it out. I had learned his peculiarities so well that on meeting him I could tell at a glance if he was melancholy, and had found that I could rouse him up by giving him a new song to work on. He came into my place of business [in Elkhorn, Wisconsin], walked down to the stove, and turned his back on me without speaking. I was at my desk. Turning to him, I said, Webster, what is the matter now? It's no matter, he replied, it will be all right by and by. The idea of the hymn came me like a flash of sunlight, and I replied, The Sweet By and By! Why would not that make a good hymn? Maybe it would, he said indifferently. Turning to my desk I penned the words of the hymn as fast as I could write. I handed the words to Webster. As he read his eyes kindled, and stepping to the desk he began writing the notes. Taking his violin, he played the melody and then jotted down the notes of the chorus. The transposed key of A-minor, or ‘low’ key is a good fit for baritones, basses, or mezzo-sopranos and altos. It features Roto’s Italian lyrics as well as Kusik’s English. Kristine Johanek #4303207. Published by Kristine Johanek (A0.707971). Here is a sweet arrangement of the Vesper Hymn written for two part treble choir, with piano and handbell accompaniment. There is a good amount of unison singing, but there are also harmony parts for both soprano and alto voice parts. This piece was written with the beginning choir in mind. Repetition in the vocal harmony parts is set off by the use of dynamic contrasts which are inspired by the lyrics. The bell part can be played by handbells, tone chimes, hand chimes, or even a keyboard set to a chime voice. (Handbell part is on the last page of the octavo.) The piano part was written to be played by a young accompanist, and so is also repetitive in its notes with contrast being provided by varied dynamics. This piece is approximately two and a half minutes long, and makes a nice concert closer for community youth choir, school concert, or children’s honor choir. (Although the word ‘hymn’ is in the title, there are no religious references that would make this unsuitable for a community or public school performance.)

Aptly it was a good fit for the Italian trio Il Volo, who had achieved popularity with their mix of ‘contemporary pop with operatic style’ - characteristic of the subgenre ‘Operatic Pop’ or ‘Popera’ music.  This arrangement is scored as a duet for tenor and baritone voices with piano accompaniment.  The language is Italian.  Performance time: 3:43+-
