Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.990549 Composed by Ivo Antognini. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Octavo. 42 pages. Ivo Antognini #3368393. Published by Ivo Antognini (A0.990549). Canticle of the Sun is a declaration of love and gratitude to our beautiful planet, to its creator and all living beings that inhabit it. This piece comes from my first major, extended work, A Prayer for Mother Earth, that was premiered at the Carnegie Hall on May 28, 2016.  Canticle of the Sun is the most popular sacred poem of the Italian literature, written in 1224 by Francis of Assisi. It is a prayer, a hymn of thanksgiving and praise to God for the creation of the world.  Be praised, my Lord, through Sister Water;she is very useful, and humble, and precious, and pure.  In this movement (which is the 3rd of five) the orchestration is very delicate, the strings often playing pizzicato. The piano plays an important role, introducing the principal theme that is later taken up by the voices. The file contains the whole score and all the individual parts.Write to the composer to obtain other informations (ivo.antognini@gmail.com)

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576139 Composed by Carroll O'Daly. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 3 pages. David Warin Solomons #2031597. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576139). Choral arrangement of Robin Adair, with some interesting harmonies. Audio sample sung (multitrack and transposed down a little) by the composer The original tune was composed with the words Eibhlin a Ruin (Ellen Aroon or Eileen Aroon) by the Irish bard Carroll O'Daly (14th Century), although it was later attributed to the 18th century Irish composer Charles Coffey (this was presumably an arrangement of the original). The words of Robin Adair itself are understood to be by Lady Caroline Keppel, who was in love with a surgeon by that name. (This seems more likely than the theory that Robert Burns wrote it, although Burns certainly knew Keppel's lyrics and made his own parodies upon the words). Some later versions of the melody contain Scotch snaps but this version follows the simplest melodic line, without the Scotch snaps - which may have been closer to O'Daly's original tune - and with quite romantic choral harmonies.
