My ukulele has a low G string, and my arrangements are notated using the low G. If your uke has a high G, you can use the exact same fingerings and chords. It will just sound a bit different.

Arrangement of Dowland's song Come Again Sweet Love doth now invite. The guitar accompaniment remains the same while the alto saxophone introduces various divisions in the course of the song and becomes quite florid by the end. There are some passages when the alto sax can go an octave higher, as marked 8va, depending on the player's capabilities. The sound sample is an electronic preview and uses the higher octave passages. The pdf contains score and parts.

Ave Maria was written by Franz Schubert in 1825 as the sixth song in his song cycle based on Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake. It is perhaps the best known of all his melodies, adapted for piano by Franz Liszt, and for orchestra many times since. It is often sung with the Latin lyrics of the Catholic hymn of the same name and has been heard everywhere from the Disney movie Fantasia to the funeral of J.F. Kennedy. This version is arranged as a duet for two Tenor Saxophones.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. Both parts play the melody. The overall performance time is around four and a half minutes. The sample recording is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version of this duet. The full length youtube performance is of the Clarinet version.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing and expressive playing. The rhythms are straightforward though there are extended triplet quaver arpeggios which will pose a challenge for finger coordination and breathing.

White Christmas is one of the best loved of all Christmas songs. While sung by countless artists over the years, it is synonymous with its original performer, Bing Crosby, who nailed the original recording with orchestra and singers in under eighteen minutes. Written by Irving Berlin in 1941, the song reached its audience via the 1942 movie bearing the same name. This version, arranged as a duet for one Soprano and one Alto Saxophone, is true to the original in structure and feel. There are two verses, one reflecting Crosby’s free phrasing, and the second, copying the stricter phrasing of the singers and orchestra.

Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal Christmas performances, with both parts enjoying plenty of interest. There are a few moderately difficult rhythms and some less familiar accidentals. Total performance time is around three minutes.
