Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465231 Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Instructional,Romantic Period. 21 pages. Diego Marani #1043927. Published by Diego Marani (A0.1465231). Scheherazade, also commonly Sheherazade Op. 35, is a symphonic suite composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888 and based on One Thousand and One Nights (also known as The Arabian Nights). This orchestral work combines two features typical of Russian music in general and of Rimsky-Korsakov in particular: dazzling, colorful orchestration and an interest in the East, which figured greatly in the history of Imperial Russia, as well as orientalism in general. The name Scheherazade refers to the main character Scheherazade of the One Thousand and One Nights. It is one of Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular works. This arrangement for sax quartet (Bb Soprano, Eb alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone) of the most famous themes of the suite is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Arranged by Stephen Davies. Baroque. 27 pages. Stephen Davies #3469898. Published by Stephen Davies (A0.891899). Each strand extracted from the Organ score of Dietrich Buxtehude's Praeludium in G Minor (BuxWV148), gives for an altogether atmospheric and evocative edge to the Saxophone Quartet, especially when performed in a descent sized venue. Don't forget that Bach walked 250 miles from his home town of Arnstadt to see old Buxtehude play in Lubeck! That must have been some gig!! stephendavies51@btinternet.com

Van Klompenberg. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. 33 pages. Martin J. Van Klompenberg #993923. Published by Martin J. Van Klompenberg (A0.1411673). I have always been fascinated by the walls of sheer rock left behind by the construction of theUnited States interstate highway system. To me, it represents both the majesty of nature and theaudacity and ingenuity of the human race. When you approach these sections of road, often youwill see the yellow sign, reading Fallen Rocks or Fallen Rock Zone, warning of the possibilitythat nature will try to reclaim the roadway. In this quartet, I wanted to show both the majesty of the mountains, told in the various choralesthroughout the piece, and the juxtaposition of the possible chaos below. Cars speeding past, notalways safely or politely. Construction zones. Semi trucks. All of these can be heard throughoutthis work. Despite all this activity, it is important to remember that the rocks remain.-.
