Published by Kristine Johanek (A0.707973). This setting of the 23rd Psalm comes from the Scottish Psalter of 1650, and is arranged for 17 bells from a standard two octave set. It is a fairly easy arrangement for ‘just beyond beginner’ groups, although the dotted eighth-sixteenth pattern and moving harmony parts may take a bit of extra practice. Melody lines in both treble and bass clef keep everyone involved. At about two and a half minutes long, this is an excellent piece for worship or concert use. This is a reproducible product. This piece may be purchased as a score for one performing group, and copies made for the members of that one performing group. Save money and space while allowing for more flexibility in annotating from year to year.

An excellent piece for a women's chorus for church or a Christian college/university, but could also be sung by a very good treble or children's choir. The organ accompaniment is written in two staves and could easily be adapted for piano or keyboard. About 3 1/2 minutes in length.

Published by Maggs (A0.1093848). Brother James' Air is a much loved setting of a poem based on the 23rd Psalm. This arrangement is a gently modernized harmonization of the traditional tune. It incorporates all 5 verses, beginning in Bb major and modulating to C major. (The 3rd verse is partially set in Bb minor.) Although arranged for advanced piano, it is not overly difficult. It would make a lovely prelude or special music for any church service. Note: This arrangement is included in my collection, “In Loving Memory,� also available on this site.
