Instrumental Duet,Piano Instrumental Duet,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127398 Composed by ROBERT VAN HORNE. Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 26 pages. White Piano International Publishing #728022. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.1127398). THE FINAL WAVE for Violin & Piano Piano 22 pages / Violin 4 pages Approx. Time: 6:15 On Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2011, I was invited to a special meeting of Bay Area business people. Their purpose was wanting to help the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami that devastated parts of Japan on March 11th. The meeting was organized by Mr. Alex Kurosawa, president of KPMF and held in San Jose, CA. At the end of the meeting and after much discussion about holding a series of concerts with all funds going to the disaster victims, it was suggested that I compose a new song for the project that would let those afflicted in Japan know they would not be forgotten.I was so inspired by the dedication and volunteerism of all the people at the meeting that I went home and composed a new piece of music entitled: THERE IS HOPE THROUGH MUSIC. After a favorable response from the group, I began composing another piece for violin and piano entitled: THE FINAL WAVE. In this piece, I tried to paint the horror, destruction, uncertainty and sadness of the disaster while giving hope for a future for the people who witnessed this catastrophic event. Unfortunately, THE FINAL WAVE was never completed as planned back in 2011. However, eleven years later, I completed this memorable piano and violin duet. Even though it’s been many years since that terrible day of March 11, 2011, the music can still convey emotions of melancholy, discord, resilience and compassion for tragic and unforeseeable events of today. This timeless work is dedicated to remember and give hope to all those affected by disasters and catastrophic tragedies. This advanced level of music is clearly notated for piano and violin and can be an extraordinary supplemental selection for recitals and concerts. This musical recording of THE FINAL WAVE is an electronic representation available in the notation program. Robert Van Horne is a long standing member of ASCAP. Cl.bsn-2hns-str(1.1.1.1.1) nonet - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q20914 For nonet. Composed by Gerald Barry. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 18 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q20914. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20914). The title No people. comes from the surrealist Raymond Roussel. In 1932 he published a long poem called New Impressions of Africa. For this he commissioned 59 drawings to illustrate the text. The commission was given to the artist through a detective agency so he never knew who the commissioner was or saw the text he was supposed to illustrate. All he got was instructions for each drawing and he had to make the drawings accordingly. A typical instruction might be Nocturnal landscape. Very starry sky with a thin crescent of moon. (No people.) or A rambler, arm raised and fingers outspread, dropping a pebble (still visible) down a well and seemingly straining to hear the sound of its splash. (No other people.) When Roussel put the drawings and text together, the ordinary everyday drawings took on a strangeness they might otherwise not have had if the artist had drawn with the text in front of him. It's the juxtaposition of both unknowns - text/drawings - that gives the final work its strange quality. © Gerald Barry (2013).

Published by Ghost25 (A0.957453). As kids. We all had goals, dreams, thoughts. All of these was inspired by what we were taught. Most of us gave up along the way because we didn't find the offers we wanted or maybe we saw seemingly better offers. The song speaks about a man who had a dream right from when he was nine. It explores the hardship of what he faced to get it. Eventually, it speaks about how he could only have done it with the help of the people with him. One man can't do it, it has to be a bundle..

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1435089 Composed by Stanley M Hoffman. 21st Century,Classical,Opera. Score. 48 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #1015189. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1435089). Opera Scenes 1. At the Clothing Department (3:00); 2. To Get a Ration (9:00) - vocal soloists & piano or chamber ensemble (cl, bn, tpt, tbn, perc, vln, vc) with live or prerecorded crowd noise - 2021, 2024. The libretto is comprised of the insightful observations of a young Jewish boy—Abraham “Abramek” Koplowicz—who was trapped by the Nazis in the Lodz ghetto and who later died in Auschwitz. The libretto appears before each scene in the scores. This may be a relatively brief piece, but it is a major one for me and posthumously for the author. I am fortunate to be the only person given blanket gratis permission to set the words of Abraham Koplowicz to music. He composed a book of poetry, plays, and artwork while imprisoned in the Lodz Ghetto before perishing later in Auschwitz before he could become a Bar Mitzvah. The contents of that book are quite good, sophisticated for his age. Abraham's late half-brother, Eliezer Grynfeld—who found the book in the 1990s—and I eventually became good friends. The Pope once kissed Eliezer's hand. That is how highly regarded this collection is and, by some stroke of luck or fate, I have got exclusive musical rights to the book until it enters the public domain. In my settings of AT THE CLOTHING DEPARTMENT and TO GET A RATION, I combine the musical language of Schoenberg's A SURVIVOR FROM WARSAW very nearly with the instrumentation of Stravinsky's A SOLDIER'S TALE - only the percussion instruments differ. The musical language of these brief opera scenes is appropriately terse, very much in keeping with the oppressiveness of imprisonment. Please have a look and a listen. Thank you for your consideration. ---Words originally in Polish by Abraham (“Abramek”) Koplowicz (b. 1930, Lodz, Poland, d. 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau) Translation by Sarah Lawson and Ma?gorzata Koraszewska Adapted by Stanley M. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782530 Composed by Tyler Merideth. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Tyler Merideth #4810437. Published by Tyler Merideth (A0.782530). Agnus Dei is the tenth movement from a larger work entitled Reconciliation, a set of 12 Latin prayers. Each movement takes it's inspiration from individual postcards containing pictures of St. Michael's Cathedral in Coventry, England. When performed in sequence, Reconciliation can serve as a worship service however, the individual movements also can stand alone. Although the tenth movement in Reconciliation, Agnus Dei was the initial small seed catalyst that grew into the idea to write a 12 movement work. The idea came to me when I first visited Coventry Cathedral and saw a statue entitled Reconciliation by Josefina de Vasconcellos. The statue depicts two figures kneeling in an embrace. What makes this statue so powerful is that the placement of the statue is among the ruins of the original Cathedral after the bombing by German Aircraft in WWII. I immediately sketched an idea for this movement on the bus after my college choir rehearsed in the cathedral. When I returned to the United States, I wrote a rough vocal line and string orchestra accompaniment. The composition then lay dormant for more than a decade with no major changes. It was only this past week (almost fifteen years later) that I rewrote the accompaniment for piano and cleaned up the choral part. The opening unison vocal line can be timeshared among the voice parts. Since it covers a wide range, let the lower voices sing what range they sing well and the higher voices reciprocate. Please feel free to vary the tempo with rubato throughout the piece to allow for proper breath support. Do not be shy leaning into the dissonances found in the suspensions as the ultimate resolution in the grant us peace

By Kerry Livgren. Arranged by Neil Samuel. Disco,Pop,Rock. Brass Band. 78 pages. Neil Samuel Music #845530. Published by Neil Samuel Music (A0.1251253). Arranged For Brass Band.... This was written by Kansas guitarist Kerry Livgren. According to Livgren, the song was not written to express anything specifically religious, though it certainly expresses spiritual searching and other ideas.Livgren became an evangelical Christian in 1980, and has said that his songwriting to that point was all about searching. Regarding this song, he explained: I felt a profound urge to 'Carry On' and continue the search. I saw myself as the 'Wayward Son,' alienated from the ultimate reality, and yet striving to know it or him. The positive note at the end ('surely heaven waits for you') seemed strange and premature, but I felt impelled to include it in the lyrics. It proved to be prophetic.

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).Les opéras de Richard Wagner paraissent pour la première fois sous forme de piano-chant chez Schott en version originale. Sont déjà publiés dans la série : L’Or du Rhin, Lohengrin, Parsifal et Le Vaisseau fantôme (première version de 1841 et version 1842-1880). Les autres opéras de Wagner représentés à Bayreuth paraîtront d'ici 2013, année anniversaire de la naissance du compositeur.
