Published by Music Anon (A0.1151519). Set to poetry by KC Conway, this song cycle depicts the story of Joseph through the birth of Jesus. The eight movement cycle is set for Tenor, Baritone and Bass accompanied by harp. Opening with a prelude, the early songs depict the attraction to Mary, continue into the journey with Hamor, the donkey, and finish with reverence for the child. The work was originally commissioned by the Edgewater Singers to partner on a concert with Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols. The work may be sung by a trio of men or a chorus. An SATB version is available as well.
