Brass Ensemble Baritone Horn TC,Cornet,Euphonium,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1174943 By John Denver and Placido Domingo. By John Denver. Arranged by Rita Arendz. 20th Century,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Pop,Wedding. Score and parts. 16 pages. Rita Arendz #775075. Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1174943). Combining the genres of folk and soft rock, John Denver penned Perhaps Love as a love letter to his wife, Anne Martell, during their separation in the early 1980s.Written and recorded in 1981 as a duet with opera tenor, Placido Domingo, there was some concern about the chart getting on the air.  It became its own genre of popera, which led to such groups as The Three Tenors.   By 2008, the song sold nearly four million copies. This arrangement for Brass Quintet with an optional Drum kit is great for Valentine's Day, weddings, anniversaries, and concerts.  The parts are for British Brass Band instruments with orchestral brass alternate parts.Duration 3:00  16 pages.

String quartet - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q19873 'Divorce' · Scheidung. Composed by Fazil Say. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Op. 29. Duration 16 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q19873. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19873). In the composition of this string quartet, I have permitted myself to be led by my personality and experiences and have attempted to relate experiences such as divorce, separation and the failure of a relationship in the language of music with the aid of notes and rhythms. As is the case with my other compositions, this quartet is more a work originating from intuition than the description of a historical event, a journey or a place. The beginning of the first movement is somewhat wild, rapid and sorrowful with an irregular rhythm. Intermittent sections ensue which are reminiscent of a jazz club. Living history is our present which we are currently experiencing. The second movement with a melancholic atmosphere is dominated by colours, the subject of searching, the search for a remedy and unhappiness. In contrast, the final movement is intended to express the hatefulness, arguments and disputes within a relationship which have been transformed into a profound trauma. (Fazıl Say, translated by Lindsay Chalmers-Gerbracht).

Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1171245 Composed by Christopher Tin and Emily Dickinson. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Contemporary,Film/TV. 21 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #771583. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1171245). Christopher Tin is a contemporary composer who is best known for his choral piece called Baba Yetu.  With an impressive educational background in music composition, English literature, and art history, his compositions come to life with like nothing that I've experienced before. It is simply some of the most beautiful and expressive music I have ever heard.  The Lost Birds is a musical memorial to bird species driven to extinction by humans.  Tin’s soundtrack is a fantastic work of art, with its soaring musical phrases that make you feel like you’re flying.  The Saddest Noise is a choral piece, with its lyrics taken from Emily Dickinson’s poem, “The Saddest Noise, the Sweetest Noise,†which talks of the relationship between beauty and grief.   The saddest noise, the sweetest noise, The maddest noise that grows, The birds, they make it in the spring, At night’s delicious close.   Between the March and April line That magical frontier Beyond which summer hesitates, Almost too heavenly near.   It makes us think of all the dead That sauntered with us here, By separation’s sorcery Made cruelly more dear.   It makes us think of what we had, And what we now deplore. We almost wish those siren throats Would go and sing no more.   An ear can break a human heart As quickly as a spear, We wish the ear had not a heart So dangerously near.   The Lost Birds soundtrack was sung by the choral group, Voces8, who made the music and poetry come to life in a way that not many other groups could.  It is simply beautiful. This arrangement is scored for clarinet choir – 4 Bb, alto, bass, and contrabass.  There is an optional Eb part to play in addition to, or in lieu of, the 1st Bb part.  This is not a strict transcription - I added moving parts and changed/added notes to make it of more interest as an instrumental piece.  I hope you like it. Duration: 3.5 minutes.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156911 Composed by Giovanni Gabrieli. Arranged by Yves Bouillot. Religious,Renaissance. 25 pages. Yves Bouillot #757255. Published by Yves Bouillot (A0.1156911). Gabrieli's version constantly and classically balances two contrasting vocal choirs while maintaining its elegant proportions. Gabrieli divides his text into three unequal parts; each receives a musical section of roughly equal length. The opening phrase is sung three times: once by the first choir, once by the slightly lower second choir, and a third time in full climactic polyphony. The second phrase of the text takes up the same tripartite structure, with a temporal enlargement in triple rhythmic groups. The composer packs the most text into the third section. The radiant conclusion of his motet comes in a fourth section, a long, jubilant “hallelujahâ€. A series of three-meter syncopated antiphonal statements gradually give way to a broad eight-voice tutti. Whether the two choirs braved the logistical challenges of physical separation or simply sang in close alternation, the effect added great sparkle to the Venetian liturgy.
