String Ensemble,String Quintet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799652 Composed by D. M. Gardner. Concert. Score and parts. 25 pages. D. M. Gardner Music #481035. Published by D. M. Gardner Music (A0.799652). This very popular piece has enjoyed performances across the country. Entre Nous was originally premiered in Omaha, Nebraska with the University of Nebraska Chamber Orchestra. Soon, Entre Nous made it's way to places such as Florida, Texas, and most recently, Iowa, where this newest revision was premiered. Entre Nous has faired well in competition and recital and is sure to be a great addition the repertoire of any chamber orchestra.Entre Nous (between me and thee) is a conversation between a man and his God. It is a single movement, ternary composition, mirroring the Holy Trinity. Beginning in a solemn g minor, it quickly moves forward with an endless flow of eighth note counterpoint, emerging enchantingly into the flowing melancholy melody of the B section. The second A surfaces in a minor with a sudden new energy and direction, slipping into a deeply contemplative, ethereally enchanting ending.Entre Nous is also a very unique and interesting piece, perhaps the reason for its popularity. Structurally, it turns upside-down a number of times, each line becoming the melody at some point. A very linear piece, melodic interweaving and predominance give Entre Nous a characteristic that can be best described as enchanting. Much of the melody being perceived is actually a combination of several lines of music at once, often in contrast to another melody or two beneath.Premiere: University of Nebraska at Omaha - Chamber Orchestra - April 30, 1997Difficulty: Moderate - A great piece for middle school or youth orchestras. Great for competition. Entre Nous has been performed for several competitions and a graduate audition at Florida State.Number of Pages: 25 total printed pagesApprox. 7 minutes and 34 seconds in lengthTo learn more about the composer, please visit https://www.dmgardner.com

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412646 By Brent C Robitaille. By Brent C Robitaille. 21st Century,Classical. 83 pages. Brent C Robitaille #994677. Published by Brent C Robitaille (A0.1412646). One Second to the Future (Guitar Orchestra) Composer: Brent Robitaille  • “One Second to the Future†is a two-movement piece for either a single or optional double guitar orchestra with four separate parts for electric guitar and classical guitar. Two optional steel string guitar and electric bass parts are available but may be substituted if these instruments are unavailable. The total score will be around 500 measures with a running time of approximately 12-15 minutes. The piece is quite approachable for intermediate-level guitarists, with the more challenging sections arranged for the 1st and 2nd parts of the electric and classical guitar. Three overhead mics from the stage will be used to spatialize the sound into a stereo or surround sound system.  • The first movement starts with a fixed audio shortwave recording from the Canadian time signal shortwave station CHU, gently fading in for approximately 20 seconds before the guitar orchestra begins with natural and artificial harmonics.  • The second fixed audio track gently enters around the 1:00-minute mark. This track was recorded using eight amplified and non-amplified guitars in altered tunings with eight separate microphones to integrate into stereo or surround sound. The guitar's open strings were left to vibrate sympathetically as the volume increased and struck on the headstock with various rubber and metal sticks, violin bows or paint brushes to get the strings vibrating. The resulting wave files were then imported into a sampling program and filtered into the overtone series with “C†as the fundamental, emphasising the first 14 partials. This recording will be used intermittently throughout the first movement, acting primarily as a background pad.   • At approximately 3:00 minutes into the first movement, the players are asked to use a glass or metal slide to tap out rhythms based on the international Morse code. Several other standard slide guitar techniques are also integrated into this section. See instructions in the score. The first movement ends with both fixed audio tracks fading away.  • The second movement integrates a more traditional guitar playing and composition approach. Its bulk is at a robust tempo of 160 bpm and uses several rhythmic and timbral techniques, including sul tasto, sul ponticello, harmonics, golpe, string snaps, and the further use of guitar slides.  • Midway through the second movement, a rallentando proceeds to a section indicated by the tempo mark “slow motion.†At this point, a third fixed audio recording of a single vibrating guitar string slowed down by 3000% will fade in. The orchestra is instructed to play with this recording in slow motion or approximately 30 bpm. See score for details. The orchestra eventually returns to the original tempo to finish the 2nd movement.  Technical Requirements • Three mono or stereo mics from the orchestra will be required and blended with the stereo or surround sound. • A standard guitar delay and distortion pedal for electric guitar parts one and two is required. • Glass and metal guitar slides are required.   To download the fixed audio tracks, go here: https://soundcloud.com/kalymi/sets/one-second-to-the-future-guitar-orchestra-fixed-audio-tracks For fixed audio track information and information, contact me at:info@brentrobitaille.com.

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889444 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Concert,Standards. Score and parts. 12 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #5297057. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889444). I Had Much Grief, Cantata BWV 21. „Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis, BWV 21. „Sinfonia This work marks a transition between motet style on biblical and hymn text to operatic recitatives and arias on contemporary poetry.  Bach catalogued the work as „e per ogni tempo „and for all times, indicating that due to its general theme, the cantata is suited for any occasion. With its distinctive gesture of descent and the plaintive lines of the oboe and violin, the Sinfonia, held in dark minor, sets a tone of pain that is characteristic of the cantata. With its emotional depth and formal wealth, the cantata I had much grief is almost a solitaire in Bach's church music. Performed in Weimar in 1714 and later rearranged several times, it is also suitable as a compositional business card due to its high standards and its shape, which is representative of various types of sentences, and could therefore be related to Bach's application. Bach performed the cantata on 17 June 1714, as his fourth work in a series of monthly cantatas for the Weimar court which came with his promotion to concert master. The Work was transposed to D minor during the Köthen years, and used in November 1720 for a performance in Hamburg to apply for the position as organist at St. Jacobi. As Thomaskantor in Leipzig, Bach performed the cantata again on his third Sunday in office on 13 June 1723. For this performance, he also changed the instrumentation, adding „for example four trombones to double the voices in the fifth stanza of the hymn. This version was used in several revivals during Bach's lifetime and is mostly performed today.  From the plaintive sinfonia to the arias and duets touching in their pain and charm to the speaking rhythmic psalm and chorus choirs, a development arc spans that transforms suffering and grief into consolation and trust and culminates in an apotheosis reminiscent of Handel of the victorious lamb, Hardly ever has Bach put the process of a relentless self-questioning and spiritual healing as convincingly as here. This arrangement of the sinfonia is intended for modern instruments.  The original score was translated into modern music literature standards thus simplifying the approach and helping to understand the legacy of baroque music in our modern times. A few embellishments and interpretation symbols where added thus mostly shortening the length of some notes. Some „fortes and „pianos are also included.  The arrangement is absolutely faithful to Bach`s versions, not adding or omitting any notes from the original sources.  P.S.-  The score was written on Finale. The sound file was produced with samplers from Garritan,  merely as an audio support for the presentation of the score. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you enjoy the music. Musically Yours, „e per ogni tempo „and for all times Luis Anjos Teixeira Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love and cover design. Special Thanks to Johann Sebastian Bach, Stray Dog Nina, Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Maria Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzeneggerschen, Maria Koboldinha.  For all Living beings on Earth, for all our Ancestors,  Thank You for all of You  All The Love and Compassion. Piano,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1240299 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 6 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #835669. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1240299). This arrangement adapted for violin and piano was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions.Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813441 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. 36 pages. Regis Bookshar #6260475. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813441). Canon (Pachelbel) (Bb) (Flute Octet) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon, is perhaps the most famous canon ever written and has been one of my favorite compositions to arrange. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon, was originally written in the key of D Major and was scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo which repeats the same harmonic progression throughout the entire piece. The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Flute Octet. Three Flutes play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other five instruments. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers. It is perfect for concerts and church services, especially for Weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (36 pages). This version is written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, but another version is also available in the key of D Major if you would prefer. Other versions of Pachelbel's Canon have also been arranged by Regis Bookshar and are available for a wide variety of instrumental Quintets and Octets, in both the keys of D Major and Bb Major. I think that String players would probably prefer to play the versions in the key of D Major while the Brass and Woodwind musicians might prefer to play the Bb Major versions. I hope you take the time to compare the different versions to find the right version for you. To help you decide which version, or versions, you may want to choose, I have included several musical samples for you to listen to and to hear what these arrangements may sound like and so that you may compare the various arrangements. Also, just to let you know, the Octets written in the key of Bb Major have full-length recordings while the Octets in D Major and all Quintets have only the first 25 measures, or so, available to hear. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar which are also available. There are quite a few other arrangements in a variety of styles and I'm certain you will find something else which might interest you as well. Please keep checking because I plan to continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon will be a challenge to some performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

RayThompsonMusic #938540. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1353773). Arranged double wind quintet/bass and optional percussion. Background info:Parade is a ballet choreographed by Leonide Massine, with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche. Petite Fille Americaine  (Young American Girl) is no 2 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : typewriter and gunshots, in addition to normal orchestral perc.It also includes the Ragtime Dance which became very popular in it's own right. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!

Stephen R Dalrymple #4994299. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818294). Tropical Dance 2 by Justin Elie (Classical Music for Tablet Series) ♫ Justin Elie 1883-1931 was one of the few Haitian composers whose works were published outside Haiti and enjoyed an international reputation for his works. He received his early education in Haiti, studying with pianist Ermine Faubert from 1889 to 1894 and enrolling briefly at the prestigious institution de Saint Louis de Gonzague in Port-au-Prince. ♫ In 1895, at the age of 12 he traveled to France and enrolled at the Cours Masset, a preparatory school for the Paris Conservatory. In 1901 at the age of 17 he entered the Paris Conservatoire. Elie returned to Haiti in 1905. ♫ He undertook a concert tour in 1909 and 1910, featuring works by European composers, and visited Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Curaçao, Venezuela, and Cuba. Elie's concerts were especially well received in Jamaica. Justin Elie enjoyed the most prominent international reputation of all the Haitian composers. ♫ Justin Elie drew on Native American music for his creative inspiration. Elie wrote several pieces that used Native American (Haitian, and Central and South American) musical motifs and descriptive programs that put these native cultures at the center of Haitian musical life. Unlike Lamothe, whose audience was primarily drawn from Haiti, Elie developed his career in the United States. ♫ Eager to make a career of music composition, Justin Elie emigrated to the US in 1922 moving to New York City. His wife, Lily, joined him in New York in 1923 and the two of them performed frequently in recitals that included Elie's compositions. (based on http://chevalierdesaintgeorges.homestead.com/Elie.html) ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.
