Guitar - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1522 Composed by Francis Bebey. Arranged by Ingrid Riollot. Score. 5 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1522. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1522). Son originalité continue de résonner dans le monde entier depuis son décès à la fin du mois de mai 2001.Francis Bebey was born in Douala in July 1929, into a large family where his father, a pastor, struggled to feed his children. But Francis had the opportunity to go to school. Admiring his elder brother, Marcel Eyidi Bebey, he educated himself, distinguished himself, and eventually received a scholarship to go and take his baccalaureate in France. We approached the end of the 1950s when he arrived in La Rochelle. More than ever, in this France where Africans were looked at with curiosity, condescension, or disdain, Francis relied on his intellectual resources. A diligent worker, he obtained his Baccalaureate, then moved to Paris where he started English studies at the Sorbonne. One day, he knew what truly attracted him: he wanted to do radio. Francis learned his craft in France and in the USA.After working for a few years as a reporter, he was hired in 1961 as an international civil servant in the UNESCO Information Department. In parallel, Francis had always been drawn to musical creation. His very serious daytime activity didn??t prevent him from frequenting jazz clubs in the evenings. In Paris, the Jazz, the trendy music of that time, but also rumba and salsa attracted him. He collected records and attended numerous concerts. With his accomplice Manu Dibango, Francis took the stage and played music.Francis liked classical music since his childhood. He grew up listening to the cantatas and oratorios of Bach or Handel that his father had sung in the temple. He became passionate about the guitar, impressed by the Spanish and South American masters, and decided to learn to strum the instrument himself. He started composing guitar pieces, blending the various influences that flow through him with the traditional African music he had carried within since childhood. His approach captivated the director of the American Cultural Center (then located in the Saint-Germain neighborhood of Paris), who offered him the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. Francis gave his first guitar recital there (1963) in front of a mesmerized audience. His first solo album was released shortly thereafter.Gradually, Francis became recognized as a musician and composer. Several albums of the African guitar ambassador, as described by the press, were released. He also wrote books, to the point that his artistic career became challenging to reconcile with his career as a civil servant. In 1974, even though he had become the General Manager in charge of music at UNESCO, he took the bold leap and resigned from this prestigious institution to dedicated himself to the three activities that interested him: music, literature, and journalism. He explored the traditional musical heritage of the African continent, notably through the thumb piano sanza, and the polyphonic music of the Central African pygmies, or singing in his native language and composing humoristic songs in French!Success followed. Francis Bebey traveled the world: from France to Brazil, Cameroon to Sweden, Germany to the Carribean, or Morocco to Japan... the list of countries where he was invited to perform, gives lectures, or meets readers is very long. In addition to public recognition, he enjoyed the recognition of his fellow musicians, such as guitarist John Williams or Venezuelan Antonio Lauro, who invited him to be a part of the jury for a classical guitar competition in Caracas. His life was the journey of an African pioneer, a man rooted in his cultural heritage and carrying a message of sharing and hope for the world. His originality continues to vibrate around the world since his passing at the end of May 2001.

Small Ensemble Clarinet,Horn,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845310 By Elvis Presley. By George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Wedding. Score and parts. 13 pages. Phil Beaman #6719795. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845310). Can't Help Falling In Love was made famous by Elvis Presley on his album and film Blue Hawaii. My arrangement takes it from a 60's pop song to a gentle jazz ballad. It is totally reharmonized and has a fresh new feel. The melody is the same, except it has a new Time Signature. The song was originally in 6/8 but I have set it in 1/2 in order to get the pulse and phrasing I want. (Yes, 1 minim/half note per bar.) The original accompaniment was broken arpeggios, but now it is all about the rich new blocked chords. With repeats and a D.S. I have covered all 4 verses and bridges. Enjoy a fresh take on this forever classic. Great for weddings and nostalgic concerts.  available for several different instrument combinationsinstrument part ranges - 10th Clarinet 1,2; FrenchHorn 1,2; Trombone 1,27 pages score, 1 page parts2:00 minutes

Flute and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q53378 Op. 33 (TBA 37). Composed by Theobald Bohm. Edited by Edmund Wachter and Elisabeth Weinzierl. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Op. 33. 10 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53378. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53378). English • German.Theobald Böhm was principal flautist at the royal Isartor theatre from 1816, appointed as a member of the court orchestra in his native city Munich two years later and promoted to principal flautist there from 1830. Concert tours to several European cities established his reputation as one of the leading flute virtuosos of his time. In 1828 Böhm opened a flute manufacturing workshop and revolutionised the construction of the flute with two features: the conical ring-key flute of 1832 introduced the key system still in use today, while the acoustic refinements of the cylindrical bore flute of 1847 have hardly been improved on since then. As a composer Böhm wrote works that show off the best qualities of both flute and flautist. Plate no. 15040 / published in 1857.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1474238 By Billy Williams. By Fred E. Ahlert and Joe Young. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1051907. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1474238). I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter is a 1935 popular song with music by Fred E. Ahlert and lyrics by Joe Young. It has been recorded many times, and has become a standard of the Great American Songbook. It was popularized by Fats Waller, who recorded it in 1935 at the height of his fame. It is one of several songs from the Harlem Renaissance featured in the Broadway musical Ain't Misbehavin'. American Public Media's business-news program, Marketplace, uses a portion of Fats Waller's version to open its weekly letters-from-listeners segment. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1401127 By Stacey Plays Hymns. By Stacey Plays Hymns / John Reynell Wreford. Arranged by Anastace. Christian,Easter,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 9 pages. Anastace #984315. Published by Anastace (A0.1401127). Here is the full piano vocal sheet music for When My Love to Christ Grows Weak, as heard on my YouTube channel with all the other classic, beautiful hymns from the Lent collection. The lyrics are from a traditional hymn but I've written new music for it in a minor key to match the sombre mood. This piece is a perfect song for either a moving, beautiful solo during a church service or for a congregation to sing along with, led by a singer who has heard the recording and knows the song. This rare hymn is wonderful for Ash Wednesday or any time during the Lenten Season or even Good Friday, contemplating Christ's betrayal by Peter and all who give in to sin. Although it is very solemn and touches on many points about our need for repentance and Christ's suffering, it ends on an uplifting note and leads us on to stronger faith in Him. This pdf includes each vocal part and piano accompaniment separately as well, to save you a good amount of space on the music stand. This song has a vocal range of Bb3-C5 and there is also a full backup track and sheet music in keys for high voice and low voice available by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the title on this site.Purchase includes a free license for one church service with under 300 people, with proper attribution and credit in any printed or online materials. For a license to use this work on a larger scale, please contact me for permission and other usage details including lyrics formatted for printing in church bulletins or for powerpoint. Please let me know if there is any other way I can serve you as a congregation or fellow music/choir director as I endeavour to write several new choral anthems per year, along with my other recording work.Thank you for supporting modern hymnwriters and musicians!

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.969440 Composed by Patrick Glenn Harper. 20th Century,Classical,Jazz,Romantic Period. 184 pages. Patrick Glenn Harper #575133. Published by Patrick Glenn Harper (A0.969440). The definition of Catharsis is: 1) A purification or purgation of the emotions (such as pity and fear) primarily through the arts. 2) A purification or purgation that brings about spiritual renewal or release from tension. This piece for woodwind ensemble attempts to musically represent the experience of an emotional catharsis. The negative emotions are represented by a sinister fanfare and several reoccurring themes that are manipulated throughout the first half of the piece using elements of Romantic, Jazz, and film score music. In the middle section of the piece, new themes are introduced as the music gradually evolves toward a major key tonality. Even then, fragments of the ??negative? themes are played alongside these new ones, as these sorts of emotions still leave their mark even when purged for a time. Eventually, the struggle is over as the piece reaches a triumphant ending that re-states the beginning fanfare in a major tonality and brings the piece to a close. An optional E-flat Contra Alto Clarinet part is included to be used in place of the B-flat Contrabass Clarinet part if needed.

Trumpet Duet Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587181 By Simon And Garfunkel. By Paul Simon. Arranged by David McKeown. Pop,Rock. Score. 5 pages. David McKeown #3106297. Published by David McKeown (A0.587181). Bridge Over Troubled Water, by Paul Simon, was the last song written for the last Simon and Garfunkel album. It was a huge worldwide hit in 1970, selling six million copies and winning several Grammies. Yet the song nearly wasn’t released as a single at all; radio stations at the time rarely played songs longer than three minutes and Bridge Over Troubled Water came in at five. This version is arranged as a duet for two Trumpets. Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances, with plenty of opportunity for expressive playing and dynamic contrast. The overall performance time is around four and a half minutes. The short sample audio is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full-length youtube performance is the Clarinet Duet. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with ensemble skills. There are some challenging syncopated rhythms, though knowing the original song well will help. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203
