Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,English Horn,Flute,Multi-Percussion,Oboe,Piano,Timpani,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533710 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary. Score and parts. 83 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3041105. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533710). I. Murky WatersII. The ForgottenIII. Casting InfinityEnchanted Tracings (Piano Concerto No. 2) (2008) for solo piano and wind ensemble was commissioned for a consortium of Donna Amato, piano, the Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble, Denis Colwell, conductor; Keith Kirchoff, piano, the Harvard Wind Ensemble, Thomas G. Everett,Mark Olson, conductors; and Nora Skuta, piano, the Slovak Radio Symphony Winds, Kirk Trevor, conductor. These three marvelous piano soloists served as the inspiration for the work. The concerto bears the dedication “for Walter Simmons, a hero for the cause of American music.†Musicologist Walter Simmons has been an inspirational and passionate advocate for seriousAmerican concert music for nearly his entire life. Through his tireless efforts as author, critic, recordand concert producer, and lecturer, Walter has brought myriad composers and works to muchdeserved attention. The basic musical material for the entire work is presented near the outset, the pitches Eb – D – G –Ab – E. This cell is used throughout the rest of the concerto both motivically, in transformation, and as a harmonic structural device. Its harmonic identity creates the mix of tonal/modal and atonal constructs that are a preoccupation of my music. The concerto’s title provided the poetic idea behind the musical development. Though more or less equal with the ensemble in the first movement, the piano clearly takes over as leader in the second and third movements as the goaldirected formal narrative of the movements becomes more obvious. The first movement, Murky Waters, is a free fantasy in which the piano and ensemble “unpack†the musical potential of the basic material. A number of melodic ideas emerge—some lyrical and some disjunct. A brief coda prepares for the next movement. The second movement, The Forgotten, is a lament led by the piano. The harmonic colors of thepiano’s sustaining sounds interact with the more linear textures of the winds and brass. The third movement, Casting Infinity, is purposeful and structured as a march with trio. The spiky melodic material is treated in a variety of manners (including very tonally within the trio) before areturn of material from the first movement pushes the concerto towards its conclusion.InstrumentationPiccolo2 Flutes2 OboesEnglish Horn2 Clarinets in BbBass Clarinet in Bb2 BassoonsContrabassoon4 Horns in F3 Trumpets in C2 TrombonesTubaTimpaniPercussion (2 players)I: crotales, bass drum, tenor drumII: vibraphone (motor off), suspended cymbal(Percussion II needs one rosined bow.)Solo Piano(The above scoring is exact—with a single player on each part. Indeed, some of them can perform to a high standard using this method, but then really struggle with composition and general musical understanding later in their educational careers.I equate this to learning to speak sentences in a foreign language without fully understanding what those sentences actually mean.So who is this book for?It is for music teachers to use with their students who are learning to create exam-level compositions within a school environment. Luis Anjos Teixeira #3478441. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889414). Celtiberian Fantasy For Harp And Strings written for the - 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry. Dear music Lovers and Friends.  Celtiberian Fantasy was designed to be performed by a group of five artists, or even seven, nine, one thousand or more!  Any kind of diatonic Harp can be used to perform this piece.  The harp part can also be performed as a solo piece.  When performing the piece solo and according to the size of the harp or the needs of the artist of course, it is possible to transpose the left hand part an octave lower and to open many of its chords or adding a bass without damaging the caracter of the music. When playing the harp with the rest of the ensemble it might be better to perform it mostly as it is written. The double bass is a soloist but it can be reenforced with a cello. Otherwise the cello joins the ensemble only in the „Tutti. However in the absence of a Double bass, than should the cello take its part. A Cello should always be present in the case that a little stringed orquestra performs the piece. It is a perfect piece for a mixed group of early beginners and „early soloists, it is very easy to perform by experienced artists. It can be played by a group of five artists, as well as a complete string orquestra with harp. Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left virgin to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of bowing and fingering. It is a very flexible piece that can be used in all kinds of events. The score For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entrywas written on Finale.  The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was produced with samplers from Garritan, conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. It is a Harp Quintet with a Double Bass instead of a Cello. Another audio version with the full orquestra will be found in sound cloud at „Anjos Teixeira Music. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. This is the first time that it has been published in Sheet Music Plus. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Sheers! Luis Anjos Teixeira Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. A Clarinet,Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1358397 Composed by Juozas ŽileviÄius. Arranged by Kazys DaugÄ—la. 20th Century,Classical. 162 pages. Kazys Daugela #942837. Published by Kazys Daugela (A0.1358397). Juozas ŽileviÄius (1891–1985) was an organist, composer, educator, and researcher in the history of music. In 1919, when graduating from the Petrograd Conservatory, he composed Symphony in F minor, the first Lithuanian composition in this genre. Upon his return to Lithuania in 1920, ŽileviÄius worked in various musical life spheres of the young republic: he took part in the activities of the Society of Lithuanian Art Creators, contributed to the establishment of Kaunas Opera House, worked for several years as the head of the Art Department at the Ministry of Education, prepared the first music curricula for secondary schools and progymnasiums, conducted courses for music teachers, taught at music schools in Kaunas and KlaipÄ—da, published a musical periodical, and initiated the first Lithuanian Song Festival. Musicologist DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ— managed to bring copies of three-movement Nonet for strings and wind instruments  from Chicago to Lithuania. ŽileviÄius started writing it in December 1924. The composition was apparently inspired by the Czech Nonet members, working at KlaipÄ—da School of Music, who had been invited by its director Stasys Å imkus from Prague. This was a lively and youthful group that gave concerts all over Lithuania. It amazed audiences with its high artistic level and set an example for students, encouraging them to form various ensembles. The repertoire of the Czech Nonet consisted mainly of works from the Classical and Romantic eras. There were few contemporary compositions, and therefore the Czech Nonet performers turned to composers with a request to write new works for them. They might have discussed the matter with ŽileviÄius with whom they maintained a close relationship, as they did later with Lithuanian composer Jeronimas KaÄinskas.ŽileviÄius finished writing Nonet on 15 November 1926. All three movements were based on the intonations of Lithuanian folk melodies. The first movement (Andante. Allegro moderato) imitatively developed the motifs of the song “Autumn will Comeâ€, while the second one (Andante cantabile) featured fragments of the song I Rode through the Woodâ€, and the third one (Allegro) of the song “Oh, you Bird Cherryâ€. The composition was written professionally, it should have been attractive and interesting for the performers, but, unfortunately, it was never performed. The reasons for this could have been various: disagreements between the director of  KlaipÄ—da Music School, Å imkus, and his deputy, ŽileviÄius, as well a the Czech teachers’ falling into disgrace and starting to resign from their teaching positions in the autumn of 1926. A few years later, ŽileviÄius also resigned from the school: in January 1929 he left for the USA and settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he worked as a church organist. He also brought his Nonet from KlaipÄ—da, hoping that this work would be heard in America. To this end, he found transcribers who made instrumental parts from the score. As it turned out, there were few Lithuanian instrumentalists in the USA, and ŽileviÄius did not have close relations with Americans. Thus Nonet, which the composer regarded as one of his most successful compositions after his Symphony in F minor, sank into oblivion. Thanks to Kazys DaugÄ—la, an opportunity appeared to edit and digitise it after the sheet music of Nonet had arrived in Lithuania. This work reveals the origins of the Lithuanian musical culture, enriches the repertoire of chamber-instrumental ensembles, broadens music education curricula, inks the name of ŽileviÄius, the author of both the first Lithuanian symphony and of the first nonet, in the history of music, and contributes to the preservation and fostering of the Lithuanian musical heritage.by Prof. Dr. DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ—.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.733009 Composed by Benjamin Ayotte. Contemporary. Score and parts. 30 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #2075851. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733009). A promise to stand by... this phrase indicate loyalty, steadfastness, being a man of one's word, knowing that integrity and honor are the enduring qualities by which we will be judged; not fame, fortune, influence, or other worldly measures. It is no surprise, therefore, that this phrase was incorporated by Lou Fortunate and Msgr Herman Kucyk, of blessed memory, into the alma mater of Divine Child High School. When I was approached by Mr. Bush and the Divine Child Band Boosters about the possibility of writing a piece to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the band program I was excited, flattered, and--most of all--humbled that I should be chosen out of many worthier candidates, in my estimation. Divine Child has had, for the longest time--since the beginning, it seems--a vibrant and thriving fine arts program involving music (both vocal and instrumental), theatre, and the visual arts as well as literature and poetry. I began to conceive of a work that would pay homage to each of these arts musically and be a celebration of all that Divine Child has to offer. One of my favourite composers, Gustav Mahler, famously said, a symphony must be like the world; it must contain everything. In the 1988 vice-presidential debate, Lloyd Bentsen famously said to Dan Quayle, Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy. A voice in my head said, Benjamin, you're no Gus Mahler. As the discarded drafts in the recycle bin took on a life of their own, I eventually dismissed the idea as impractical, and even vainglorious. I settled upon a more general idea to make the music about the band program. Most every student in the band program goes through the rigors of marching band and performs at the Falcon football games where they become intimate with the Three School Songs: the Falcon Fanfare, the Fight Song, and the Alma Mater. Taking the latter piece as my inspiration, I meditated upon the mission of the school: a promise to educate us in body, mind, and spirit. Divine Child High School stands by her promise, recruiting some of the best teachers in the area to guide us through the tumultuous adolescent years. We students, too, have a promise: to strive to be worthy of this gift, and to accept it and use it for the betterment of society. In band class, under Leo Tallieu, I learned to listen; to contribute to the group; to consider my part in relation to the whole ensemble; to show leadership when needed; and to be a role player when needed. And so, my conception of the piece changed. I wanted to use melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic devices that would be familiar to all DCHS band students, but to use them in a new and different way; to recontextualize them. As time went on, Bob Bush asked me if I would be able to work in a tribute to two band students who had tragically died in the last few years: Blaise H.

Gnome`s Dream revealed in the2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry.    Gnome`s Dream was designed to be performed by a group of five artists, or even seven, nine, one thousand or more!  Any kind of diatonic Harp can be used to perform this piece.  When playing the harp with the rest of the ensemble it might be better to perform it mostly as it was written.  In the absence of a Double bass, than should the cello take its part. In the case of an ensemble with more artists where we have already formed a bowed stringed orquestra, The double bass while playing the introduction of the piece remains a soloist and it will than be reenforced with a cello while the other bowed instruments are also playing. It would be good to tune the E string of the double bass down to a D but if this is not possible than simply play the lower „D notes one octave higher. It is a perfect piece for a mixed group of early beginners and „early soloists, it is very easy to perform. It is here presented as a Harp Quintet. Thanks to Stray Queen Mimi for my Family, all the Love and Compassion. Special thanks to my feline Family for all the Patience, Love and Compassion. Luis Anjos Teixeira

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533692 Composed by Carson Cooman. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards. Score. 17 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3038635. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533692). Biblicals: Concerto for Solo Piano in Five Movements (1998) was commissioned from thecomposer by an anonymous benefactor for pianist Kathleen Supové in tribute of her tirelesssupport of new music. The work is in five movements, each inspired by a different biblical quotation which isquoted in the score before each movement. If possible, these passages should be printed inthe program or read aloud before the performance of the work. Each movement isprogrammatic only in an internal sense. While the movements do not attempt to directlyportray the action of the passage in a storybook sense, they do attempt to capture the overallaffect of the verse. The form of the work is as a concerto for solo piano drawing on a titlethat has been used in the past by numerous composers. Likewise, although the work does notinvolve an orchestra, I have titled it concerto because it contains elements of a concerto solopart and because of the virtuosity required to perform the work. The work explores a widerangeof styles from quasi-lyrical to highly chromatic. Throughout, the work has a rhythmicintensity which should be observed by the performer. The first movement, Hovering Over the Waters, makes use of an irregular rhythmic patternintroduced in the opening measure and used throughout the work. Irregular and nervousrhythms using chromatic intervals pervade the entire movement. The second movement, Baldhead, is a forceful and loud movement making use of the clashbetween diatonic and pentatonic clusters. It is relentless in its pounding energy, irregularrhythms, and volume. This movement is dedicated to American composer Daniel Pinkhamon the occasion his 75th birthday in 1998. The connection of this movement to Pinkhamcomes in the superimposition of pentatonic and diatonic clusters, a technique used so well inone of my favorite Pinkham works, Blessings for Organ (1978).The third movement, Forgiven and Free, presents a tranquil scene involving the building ofchords, standard and otherwise, through the adding of tones one at a time. Brief chromaticmelodies appear and then disappear quickly. The fourth movement, Under the Sun, makes use of a motive involving four chords over a lefthand bass consisting of a major-tenth chord. This motive appears throughout the movement, constantly breaking in and interrupting the action. A variety of irregular rhythmic motivesappear throughout as a contrast to the main motive with its strict rhythm. Quotes of nurseryrhyme tunes are hidden throughout the movement as well in various forms. The fifth movement, The Seventh Angel, is a fast and furious tarantella. As the movementflies by a variety of musical ideas emerge and then disappear into the main motive again. The music continues to get faster and faster and finally the movement ends with a furiousprogression from the bottom to top of the piano and then a thunderous unison chord in thelower register.

Small Ensemble Medium Voice,Piano Accompaniment,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534375 Composed by Paul Wehage. Concert,Contemporary,Holiday,Love,Standards. Score and parts. 41 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3396161. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534375). To You for Baritone, Tenor Saxophone and piano is dedicated to the American Baritone Kurt Ollmann, who has done much for the promotion and performance of American music both in the United States and abroad.Whitman’s poem speaks of seeing a stranger and feeling love for this person. In contrast to Poe’s To Helen, which treats a similar subject of a chance meeting of a stranger that the poet loves, Whitman does not idealize his subject but rather pointedly and brutally describes how he sees this person and what feelings (both negative and positive) this contemplation provokes in the poet’s mind In order to reflect this musically, there is an alternation between more introspective and brooding sections which are then followed by more ecstatic outbursts. The piece ends with the poet watching the stranger leave, expressing what the composer felt to be acceptance and release. As in any chamber music with voice, it is important that the two instruments allow the voice to predominate, regardless of the dynamics marked in their parts. The saxophonist should try as much as possible to match colour with the voice,in order to allow the contrapuntal exchanges between the voice and the saxophone to blend evenly. The pianist should play the passages at rehearsal marks E, G and K in a more soloist manner, always taking care not to cover the voice..To YouWhoever you are, I fear you are walking the walks of dreams,I fear these supposed realities are to melt from under your feet and hands,Even now your features, joys, speech, house, trade, manners, troubles, follies, costume, crimes, dissipate away from you,Your true soul and body appear before me.They stand forth out of affairs, out of commerce, shops, work, farms, clothes, the house, buying, selling, eating, drinking, suffering, dying.Whoever you are, now I place my hand upon you, that you be my poem,I whisper with my lips close to your ear.I have loved many women and men, but I love none better than you.O I have been dilatory and dumb,I should have made my way straight to you long ago,I should have blabb'd nothing but you, I should have chanted nothingbut you.I will leave all and come and make the hymns of you,None has understood you, but I understand you,None has done justice to you, you have not done justice to yourself,None but has found you imperfect, I only find no imperfection in you,None but would subordinate you, I only am he who will never consentto subordinate you,I only am he who places over you no master, owner, better, God,beyond what waits intrinsically in yourself.Painters have painted their swarming groups and the centre-figure of all,From the head of the centre-figure spreading a nimbus of gold-color'd light,But I paint myriads of heads, but paint no head without its nimbusof gold-color'd light,From my hand from the brain of every man and woman it streams, effulgently flowing forever.O I could sing such grandeurs and glories about you!You have not known what you are, you have slumber'd upon yourselfall your life,Your eyelids have been the same as closed most of the time,What you have done returns already in mockeries,(Your thrift, knowledge, prayers, if they do not return inmockeries, what is their return?)The mockeries are not you,Underneath them and within them I see you lurk,I pursue you where none else has pursued you,Silence, the desk, the flippant expression, the night, theaccustom'd routine, if these conceal you from others or fromyourself, they do not conceal you from me,The shaved face, the unsteady eye, the impure complexion, if thesebalk others they do not balk me,The pert apparel, the deform'd attitude, drunkenness, greed, premature death, all these I part aside. There is no endowment in man or woman that is not tallied in you,There is no virtue,.
