Choral Choir (SA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.561597 Composed by Charles Dickens, Samuel Stokes, William C. Dix, and William Morris. Arranged by SamuelStokesMusic.com. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Hip-Hop,Musical/Show. Octavo. 47 pages. SamuelStokesMusic.com #3567955. Published by SamuelStokesMusic.com (A0.561597). EBENEZER is a one-act musical based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The music is a blend of hip-hop and traditional Christmas carols. The adaptation is suitable for performance by adults or teens alike. Four of the lead roles take on the greatest musical challenge with their rap numbers, but the choir parts are more generally accessible as they are based on familiar carols, making the musical appropriate for colleges, high schools, middle schools, church groups, and community theatre groups. This libretto contains the full play script and vocal sheet music.  Purchase of this libretto kit entitles the purchaser to reproduce the appropriate number of copies for the cast and crew of the production.  Please note that royalties must also be paid for each performance (visit https://www.SamuelStokesMusic.com for royalty information).  The musical is scored for 2-part choir and rap soloists with MP3 accompaniment tracks (available separately). If desired, the musical can also be performed with unison choir singing the melody only. There is the also the optional opportunity for two violins to perform onstage and for a percussionist to play the chimes offstage (MP3 tracks are also available for these underscoring cues). The musical demo available on this page is an excerpt from the number Jacob Marley - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, in which Ebenezer Scrooge's former partner returns from the dead to warn him that he must change his ways or suffer the fate of eternally roaming the earth in chains. There is also a teaser video of this musical number at: https://youtu.be/4nPryAZUnDYNote on printing: this libretto has been formatted with pages intentionally left blank, so that it can be printed properly on the front and back of the paper. Also, there are one-inch margins on the left and right for ease of binding into folders or binders.

A Clarinet,Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1358397 Composed by Juozas ŽileviÄius. Arranged by Kazys DaugÄ—la. 20th Century,Classical. 162 pages. Kazys Daugela #942837. Published by Kazys Daugela (A0.1358397). Juozas ŽileviÄius (1891–1985) was an organist, composer, educator, and researcher in the history of music. In 1919, when graduating from the Petrograd Conservatory, he composed Symphony in F minor, the first Lithuanian composition in this genre. Upon his return to Lithuania in 1920, ŽileviÄius worked in various musical life spheres of the young republic: he took part in the activities of the Society of Lithuanian Art Creators, contributed to the establishment of Kaunas Opera House, worked for several years as the head of the Art Department at the Ministry of Education, prepared the first music curricula for secondary schools and progymnasiums, conducted courses for music teachers, taught at music schools in Kaunas and KlaipÄ—da, published a musical periodical, and initiated the first Lithuanian Song Festival. Musicologist DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ— managed to bring copies of three-movement Nonet for strings and wind instruments  from Chicago to Lithuania. ŽileviÄius started writing it in December 1924. The composition was apparently inspired by the Czech Nonet members, working at KlaipÄ—da School of Music, who had been invited by its director Stasys Å imkus from Prague. This was a lively and youthful group that gave concerts all over Lithuania. It amazed audiences with its high artistic level and set an example for students, encouraging them to form various ensembles. The repertoire of the Czech Nonet consisted mainly of works from the Classical and Romantic eras. There were few contemporary compositions, and therefore the Czech Nonet performers turned to composers with a request to write new works for them. They might have discussed the matter with ŽileviÄius with whom they maintained a close relationship, as they did later with Lithuanian composer Jeronimas KaÄinskas.ŽileviÄius finished writing Nonet on 15 November 1926. All three movements were based on the intonations of Lithuanian folk melodies. The first movement (Andante. Allegro moderato) imitatively developed the motifs of the song “Autumn will Comeâ€, while the second one (Andante cantabile) featured fragments of the song I Rode through the Woodâ€, and the third one (Allegro) of the song “Oh, you Bird Cherryâ€. The composition was written professionally, it should have been attractive and interesting for the performers, but, unfortunately, it was never performed. The reasons for this could have been various: disagreements between the director of  KlaipÄ—da Music School, Å imkus, and his deputy, ŽileviÄius, as well a the Czech teachers’ falling into disgrace and starting to resign from their teaching positions in the autumn of 1926. A few years later, ŽileviÄius also resigned from the school: in January 1929 he left for the USA and settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he worked as a church organist. He also brought his Nonet from KlaipÄ—da, hoping that this work would be heard in America. To this end, he found transcribers who made instrumental parts from the score. As it turned out, there were few Lithuanian instrumentalists in the USA, and ŽileviÄius did not have close relations with Americans. Thus Nonet, which the composer regarded as one of his most successful compositions after his Symphony in F minor, sank into oblivion. Thanks to Kazys DaugÄ—la, an opportunity appeared to edit and digitise it after the sheet music of Nonet had arrived in Lithuania. This work reveals the origins of the Lithuanian musical culture, enriches the repertoire of chamber-instrumental ensembles, broadens music education curricula, inks the name of ŽileviÄius, the author of both the first Lithuanian symphony and of the first nonet, in the history of music, and contributes to the preservation and fostering of the Lithuanian musical heritage.by Prof. Dr. DanutÄ— PetrauskaitÄ—.

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.953628). Great for concerts about nature and the environment, pandemic life, creativity!Shelter in Place by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) for mixed SSAATB chorus with nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnsona setting of Shelter in Place, a poem by Kim Stafford Commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021Founder, composer, and singer with Inversion Ensemble of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Inglis also serves as principal flute with the Central Texas Philharmonic, flute instructor at Southwestern University, and flutist with flute/harp duo Chaski. She has music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and the University of Texas at Austin. An avid birder and environmentalist, she lives in the rural hill country of Central Texas.Poet Kim Stafford grew up in Oregon, Iowa, Indiana, California, and Alaska, following his parents as they taught and traveled through the West. He is the author of a dozen books of poetry and prose, and the founding director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark College, where he has taught since 1979. He holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Oregon, and has worked as a printer, photographer, oral historian, editor, and visiting writer at a host of colleges and schools, and offered writing workshops in Italy, Scotland, and Bhutan.Shelter in Place by Kim Stafford (used with permission)Long before pandemic prisoned us,the trees knew how to guard their placewith roots and shade.Moss found how to hug a stone for life.Every stream knows how to move in place, stay home and yet flow outward, sending bounty far.Now is our time to practice-now to sing from balconies, now send words of comfortby any courier, now to hoard lonesome generosity-and then to shine in all directions like stars.Program note: Shelter in Place (2021) by Adrienne Inglis, commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021, sets former Oregon poet laureate Kim Stafford’s poem Shelter in Place (2020) for SSAATB mixed choir with Oregon nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnson, Lewis & C lark College class of 2021. Written during the coronavirus pandemic, the poem expresses how quarantine can serve as a conduit for healing, how words of comfort flow despite barriers, and how the paralysis of sheltering in place generates creative movement. The music and poem draw inspiration from ancient forest wisdom, shown musically with a pentatonic scale. The tight harmonies of Locrian mode bind moss to stone and stream to its own flow. Then vocal expression bursts forth with lush harmonies as singers serenade from balconies, sharing compassion through music. Returning to the pentatonic scale, we overcome obstacles and send generosity beyond our ancient and modern world into the celestial realm. The nature soundtrack features sounds of the Oregon forest, stream, and night sky.Acknowledgements: The composer warmly thanks Katherine FitzGibbon, Bailey Dean, Chris Clark-Johnson, Kim Stafford, and the Lewis & Clark College Community Chorale. Contact the composer to obtain the audio file of the nature soundtrack.Copyright © 2021 Adrienne Inglis | adrienne.inglis.com

2tpt. Hn. Tbn. tba - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM481 Composed by Roma Cafolla. Brass Quintet. Score and parts. 58 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM481. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM481). ISBN 9790570483808.Brass 4 All This piece was inspired by the brass section of the WNO, the importance of 'Music For All', and the need to make it accessible to children. A stately introduction opens the piece, with all the instruments passing the theme between them. This leads into a the main body of the piece, a bold, driving tune that contrasts with a more lyrical middle section before bursting out into fanfares of repeated notes to bring the music to a thrilling finish. Brass Neck The tuba is featured prominently in ths piece. The repeated motif drives the rhythm forward: 'Cry the tears for the freezing years. Just walk away' ... as the other players finally do. Marked Andantino and in Bb major the central section changes to Bb minor, where the horn and trombone carry the melody. This is then taken up be the second trumpet and the players stand as the music modulates back to Bb major. As each player finishes they sit down until the tuba is left to finish alone. Autumn Breeze A sultry September evening and a gentle breeze fans the last of the fading flowers. The family are gathered informally, and the music begins.... Marked Andante and with flowing descending quavers, the opening has interest for every player. The horn and then the trombone pick up the central theme, and this is then embellished by the trumpets. A gentle phrase marks the ending. Bankers Notes A letter drops on the mat. A final demand and the thought of the 'green paper rotting in their clutch' assails my mind. I write notes of a differnt kind! The opening is marked Vivace and is rather punchy, but soon settles into the main theme with driving rhythms throughout. The extended ending climaxes in rising staccato semiquavers for all.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565975 By Sharon Wilson. By James M. Black. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 38 pages. Sharon Wilson #6612669. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565975). NOTE: This song has many eighth notes and may take beginners longer to learn and master. Those with a little music experience will probably have an easier time learning this arrangement and have a lot of fun with the quick tempo. For beginning musicians or for introducing new players to Handbells and Boomwhackers®, I recommend starting with an easy song which uses only quarter notes and rests in the score such as God Is So Good for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers®. This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers with 1 to 3 notes assigned to each player. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Only filled noteheads are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. All sharps and flats are displayed as well (shown in the key of C); a helpful reminder for beginning musicians. Note assignment suggestions are provided. Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groupsPermission is granted to make as many copies as needed for one family, church, school, or other performing group.
