(Alt Horn in F provided) The Wind Trio for two Oboes and English Horn in C major, Op. 87 is a trio composition by Ludwig van Beethoven written in 1794, shortly after he arrived Vienna. Because amateur performers would gather in unusual permutations of players, this Trio was quickly arranged for many other combinations of instruments: versions exist for two violins and bass line, two flutes and viola, two clarinets and bassoon, as a sonata for violin and piano, and in various piano settings. In 1806, Beethoven approved an arrangement (not by him) for two violins and viola, which was published that year. It was assigned the misleadingly-high opus number of 87, which would seem to place it near the Seventh Symphony; in fact, this music was written before Beethoven had published his Opus 1.

It was the most structure-organized and explicit pieces of my all compositions. The performance was only seen by 20 composers in the masterclass, which means it's brand new piece for the musical-world, and it was a really successful and inspiring performance!! John Corigliano was satisfied of my interpretation of the topic and called it an ingenious work !!!!

The first part, the words of the archangel Gabriel (Luke 1:28), appears in liturgies as early as the 6th century. The second part, the words of Elizabeth, the mother of St. John the Baptist (Luke 1:42), was added to the first part by about 1000 CE, the appositive Jesus being added some two centuries later, possibly by Pope Urban IV (reigned 1261–64). The closing petition came into general use during the 14th or 15th century and received its official formulation in the reformed breviary of Pope Pius V in 1568.

Angels We Have Heard On High encapsulates the birth of Jesus Christ as narrated in the Gospel of Luke. The flowing second part of this carol portrays the shepherds’ wonder as they encounter a multitude of angels singing and praising.  The spiritual renewal brought about by the birth of the Christ child is given in What Child Is This? Sung to the tune of the traditional English song Greensleeves, its haunting quality has made it one of the most popular of Christmas carols. And focusing on the immediacy of the Child’s entrance into the world, Away in a Manger has become the most loved of all American Christmas carols.  The medley opens with an eight-measure introduction that immediately establishes the Christmas spirit, and then moves on to Angels We Have Heard on High. The binary form of this section should suggest to the performers two contrasting manners of execution, one involving brisk, rhythmic strokes and the other more legato in nature. At the second indicated rehearsal number What Child Is This? introduces a new key and new meter for new melodic content. The score shapes these phrases with dynamic changes, which should be observed with care. The dynamic arches and divided eighth note passages will enhance the impetus of a rolling ternary meter  The medley’s final selection, Away in a Manger, begins at measure sixty-seven. A light and delicate approach to execution should create an innocent, child-like characterization. The final cadence of this selection is expanded to a bolder conclusion. Players and conductor may wish to experiment with a dead stroke on the last soft note, to artistically suggest that the music may be experienced for a moment even after it is concluded.  This medley will be especially effective programmed on a winter holiday concert. It was written in 1893, during Dvořák's time in the United States of America. The quartet is one of the most popular in the chamber music repertoire. For the London premiere of his New World symphony, Dvořák wrote: As to my opinion I think that the influence of this country (it means the folk songs)) is to be seen, and that this and all other works (written in America) differ very much from my other works as well as in colour as in character,. A characteristic, unifying element throughout the quartet is the use of the pentatonic scale. This scale gives the whole quartet its open, simple character, a character that is frequently identified with American folk music. However, the pentatonic scale is common in many ethnic musics worldwide, and Dvořák had composed pentatonic music, being familiar with such Slavonic folk music examples, before coming to America Specific American influences have been doubted: In fact the only American thing about the work is that it was written there, writes Paul Griffiths. The specific American qualities of the so-called American Quartet are not easily identifiable, writes Lucy Miller, ...Better to look upon the subtitle as simply one assigned because of its composition during Dvořák's American tour. I have NOT simply copied the string parts across to the winds, as other have done. Rather, I have arranged the piece as though it had been written for wind ensemblet, so have given the horns repeated notes , in the same way as the slow movement of the slow movement Dvorak's wind serenade., and also used the horns to sustain. Some of the arpeggio figures remain, but in a simplified form.and are shared between clarinets and bassoons.

The work was selected by Access Contemporary Music to be performed in a Chicago reading session by members of the contemporary music ensemble Anaphora and broadcast over the internet in February 2012. This atonal work utilizing tone rows has a total duration of 9 minute.  The title makes reference to both the dodecaphonic movement in music from the early 20th Century and my immigrant family's immigration to the United States during the very early part of the 20th Century.This serial piece was composed using 10 tone rows. Each instrument was assigned a separate tone row. Rows 1 - 3 comprise first section. Rows 4 - 6 comprise the second section beginning at measure 20. Rows 7 - 9 comprise the third section beginning at measure 41 and Rows 3, 6 & 10 comprise the final section beginning at measure 100. The algorithm used proper names with letters outside the 7 letter musical alphabet being converted using the numbers 1 - 7 in a recurring fashion. Musical letters were first considered natural with duplications in any particular tone row first lowered then raised. Any additional duplication was returned to the natural form. Octaves are considered the same as unison. There were no enharmonic accommodations made to the tone rows. ASCAP.

The three instrumentalists are assigned literary figures who can all be considered as constants in Zimmermann’s Å“uvre: Ubu Roi (piano), a voracious grotesquely caricatured tyrant from Alfred Jarry’s absurd play, Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quijote (violin) and Molly Bloom (cello) from James Joyce’s ground-breaking novel Ulysses. The instrumentalists are accompanied by a silent (!) “speaker†who hisses so-called “word emblems†from Paul Poertner’s volume of poems Wurzelwerk between the movements. The word emblem for Scene 3 incorporating musical quotations from Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata Op. 83 and Stockhausen’s Zeitmaße is: “Alle Wahrvögel nisten in einem einzigen Baum†[All true birds nest in a single tree].
