Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.905717 By Casting Crowns. By Mark Hall. Arranged by Brandon Haynes. Christian,Gospel. Octavo. 11 pages. Brandon Haynes #4609419. Published by Brandon Haynes (A0.905717).  If We are the Body was a praise song written over a decade ago in the early 2000’s by Mark Hall and performed by renowned praise-band Casting Crowns. The song still holds great significance nearly 16 years later as it poses important questions of discipleship to those who associate themselves as Christians. The song asks; if we are the body of Christ, what are we doing to further his kingdom? It also candidly points out many faults in Christian behavior, which is an honest quality I love about this song. Youth groups and praise-bands often perform this song; however, I have arranged the accompaniment more solemnly to highlight the text in a more meditative manner so that it is also accessible for adult church choirs.

Oktober 1762 (To my beloved son Wolfgang Amadeus for his sixth Name Day from his father Leopold Mozart.Salzburg,October 31st, 1962)This book had an important influence on Mozart’s early compositions. The pieces fall into three categories:The first category includes songs and dances of a folk nature such as Jägerlied, Schwabentanz Schmiedecourante, Waldhornstück. The second category provides examples of compositions by Scarlatti, Bach, Händel, e.g. Fantasias, Allegros, Arias. The third group presents contemporary dance movements in the French style like Minuets, Courantes, Polonaises and Rondi.Father Mozart included pieces in a variety of styles with the intention of helping Mozart not only to learn piano technique, but also elements of composition. The works are intentionally simple, one task for the boy being to fill out the incomplete harmonies. Overall, the technical standard is appropriate to the age and abilities of the player. Apart from its historical significance, the Notenbuch for Wolfgang Amadeus is a colourful collection of charming little pieces.

The International School of Stavanger lies only one kilometer from a small fjord called Hafrsfjord where a monument, Swords in Stone, was constructed consisting of three large bronze swords stuck in an outcropping on the shore. The monument commemorates a battle which unified the Viking tribes of Norway under one king, Harald HAY=rfagre, or Harald the Fairhaired. According to legend, in 872 Harald invited the other tribal leaders to a meeting, then had his boats cut off their retreat and they battled until the other leaders submitted to Harald's rule. Harald then became the first king of Norway. The Swords of Stavanger seeks to provide a musical backdrop to this legend of Viking heroism and conquest. Digital Download SKU: A0.1471488 Composed by Robert A. Howard. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Halloween,Thriller. 30 pages. Robert A. Howard #1049261. Published by Robert A. Howard (A0.1471488). This work aims to depict a common theme of certain pieces by some classical composers: that of deathly or devilish dances, and the like. This piece is an extended single movement structure for a mixed chamber ensemble that is an octet of oboe, 2 clarinets, bassoon, piano, viola, cello, and double bass. The form is divided into a series of contrasting dances (labelled as Dance, Folk Lament, Jig, Meditation, and Funeral March), all of which are interspersed with differing statements of an ostinato-based 'chorale' idea on the piano. The whole work is framed by an 'intrada', which builds the germinal motif on which the whole piece is based, characterised by semitones and fourths. Indeed, the 'devil's interval' of the augmented fourth has a particular function and significance. The piece actually ends with an 'epilogue', which features mysterious and ghostly reminiscences of the previous main sections. The title of this work also refers to the episode 'Dance of the Dead' from the 1960s cult TV series 'The Prisoner'. In part, the piece attempts to capture the mystery and atmosphere of the series, and of that specific episode. Indeed, the music's series of related but contrasting sections act almost as an original sequence of dramatic TV incidental music cues. The work is accessible to both performers and audience alike. The attached document is the full score only, with audio provided.Duration: 11 minutes 40 minutes.Registered with PRS (Performing Rights Society, UK).Composer's website: www.roberthowardmusic.co.uk

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1317681 Composed by Public Domain. Arranged by Marcelo Borba. Christmas,Classical,Historic,Instructional,Traditional. 7 pages. Marcelo Borba #906359. Published by Marcelo Borba (A0.1317681). Work arranged for two Guitar. The First Noel is a traditional Christmas carol that tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The word Noel itself is derived from the French word Noël, meaning Christmas or the Christmas season. The song is believed to have originated in the 16th or 17th century, and its exact authorship is unknown. It has been passed down through generations and has become a popular Christmas hymn. The lyrics of The First Noel typically describe the joyous announcement of the birth of Jesus by angels to shepherds in the fields. The shepherds are guided by a bright star to Bethlehem, where they find the baby Jesus lying in a manger. The lyrics emphasize the significance of the event and the adoration of the shepherds for the newborn Christ. Here are the first few lines of the song:The first Noel, the angels did say, Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter's night that was so deep. The song is often sung in a reverent and celebratory manner, capturing the spirit of Christmas and the joyous occasion of Jesus' birth. It has been recorded by numerous artists and is a staple in many Christmas carol collections.

Choral Choir,Choral (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1396191 Composed by Brendan Graham. Arranged by arranged for solo and SSAA choir by Desmond Earley. Celtic,Irish. 8 pages. Seolta Music Limited #979575. Published by Seolta Music Limited (A0.1396191). Arranged for solo female voice, SSAA choir and piano, this is a song of hope, the hope of a girl to escape the workhouse during the Irish Famine years and to travel to make a new life in Australia. At the time the British Crown was encouraging girls to emigrate as a means to redress the gender balance in the colonies – there were too many men and not enough women. Over four thousand young women took this journey between 1848 and 1850. The composer Brendan Graham expressed his own hope that this song might have significance for the descendants of those girls, many of whom were present at the song’s first performance in 2012 at the Irish Famine Commemoration in Sydney.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410576 By Caetano Velosa. By Edward Eiscu, Gus Kahn, and Vincent Youmens. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Folk,Pop. 9 pages. Peet du Toit #992996. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1410576). (The) Carioca is a 1933 popular song with music by Vincent Youmans and lyrics by Edward Eliscu and Gus Kahn, as well as the name of the dance choreographed to it for the 1933 film Flying Down to Rio. It was sung in the film by Alice Gentle, Movita Castaneda and Etta Moten and danced by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers as part of an extended production dance number illustrating the ballroom dance. The dance, which was choreographed by the film's dance director, Dave Gould, assisted by Hermes Pan, was based on an earlier stage dance with the same name by Fanchon and Marco. The word Carioca refers to inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro.Astaire and Roger's short dance has historical significance, as it was their first screen dance together. Though billed fourth and fifth, many felt they stole the film, which became a big hit for RKO. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 7th Academy Awards, but lost to an even bigger Astaire and Rogers production number, The Continental from The Gay Divorcee (1934), their next film together and their first starring vehicle. They were billed by RKO as The King and Queen of 'The Carioca.'While the song has become a jazz standard, the dance did not have longevity. Following the success of Flying Down to Rio, an attempt was made to propagate it as a new ballroom dance, without much success. It was a mixture of samba, maxixe, foxtrot and rhumba. The distinctive feature of the dance â?? at least as portrayed in the movie â?? was that it was to be danced with the partners' foreheads touching.A French cover of the song was introduced in the comedy movie La Cité de la Peur (1994) along with a dance, also meant in a humoristic way. Both the song and the dance appear in the film that takes place in Cannes during the Cannes film festival in France, and have become a reference for a whole generation in France. 25 years later, in May 2019, the Carioca scene of the movie was celebrated in Cannes with a flashmob dance and by the actors themselves who danced again the mythic scene included in La Cité de la Peur.
