Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.932693 Composed by Gustaf T. Holst. Arranged by Terry M. Forsyth. Children,Christian,Christmas,Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Forsyth Publishing #6113529. Published by Forsyth Publishing (A0.932693). Put on you alpaca!  This organ solo Christmas winter arrangement takes this hymn through a raging wind storm.  Really!  By putting melody on great flute 8' with no volume fluxuation and the left hand constant moving tritone using Gedeckt 8', the organist has to experiment with increasing then decreasing unpredictable and violent volume changes to achieve the realism of a major wind storm.  Truly, it will become a bleak mid-winter.  I have used it as an offertory last year and will be using it somewhere this Christmas season.  The wind storm makes this a very unique piece, not the standard worship service piece.  Easy to play as it uses no pedal tones, the challenge is extensive use of the swell pedal for only the accompaniment with flute on great the steady volume.  Tune name:  Cranham.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799621 Composed by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #5791453. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799621). From my in-progress collection of intermediate and late-intermediate piano compositions in Impressionist styles, this is an homage to Maurice Ravel's piano writing as shown in his minuets (like the middle movement of the Sonatine and the minuet from Le tombeau de Couperin). It means The Sunken Garden, and I'll explain why below. It introduces techniques that Ravel frequently uses but that less-than-advanced students rarely encounter in repertoire at their level: sometimes-awkward hand and arm crossings, extended tertian chords (9th/11th/13th voicings), large rolled chords, and some modal writing, to name a few, while still maintaining a clarity of voicing that students will find in Ravel's own music. All of these can be disorienting to students encountering Ravel's music for the first time, so students will benefit from Ravel-preparatory repertoire, like this piece, that introduces these techniques.Since most currently published collections of Impressionist-style pedagogical repertoire focus on Claude Debussy's language, this piece is a welcome addition to the student piano literature and will help bridge the gaps between standard teaching repertoire and pieces like Ravel's Sonatine, while also exposing students to a new, rich, and inviting tonal language that will inspire them to seek out more of Ravel's compositions. On a more personal level, this piece was inspired by the Sunken Garden, a former landmark on the Indiana University campus that sat across the street from the practice building in which I taught dozens of piano students, coached numerous singers, and learned piles of repertoire before moving away last year. The Jordan Hall greenhouse now sits on the former Sunken Garden site.Because the Wells Quad dorms are right next door, I hear this piece as a recollection of a social dance night that the dorms probably held frequently back when the Sunken Garden existed. Wells Quad served as a classroom/academic office complex for years after Jordan Hall was built in the 50s, but they are now back-converting the buildings into dorms again. (As of this writing, two of the buildings now serve as dorms, while the other two are still academic buildings. While I was pursuing my doctoral minor in composition, the composition professors' studios were almost all in Wells Quad's Sycamore Hall. They upgraded to the East Studio Building as soon as they could, though!).

Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114067 By Budapest Scoring String Quartet. By David Warin Solomons. Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 136. David Warin Solomons #715968. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1114067). Instrumental quartet based on my choral piece The Choir in the Rain which is a sequence of limericks written and set to music by the composer imagining the scene if a choir were made to sing in the rain, complete with colds, coughs, sneezes and fever. Original limericks: (Introductory words: pitter patter pom etc) Our conductor was trying to train our choir to sing in the rain the music got wet and to our great regret we finally had to refrain So all of us went back indoors and we sang from our poor dripping scores but the audience cheered as we persevered and demanded sev'ral encores It was then that we all started sneezing the basses were coughing and wheezing The altos in harm'ny sniffed not very calmly but the audience thought we were teasing The Sopranos then noticed their dresses were shrinking and causing distresses the buttons they popped and the tenors they hopped as those buttons shot right past their faces It seemed that the choir was dissolving and the room started slowly revolving we'd all caught a cough it near carried us off as the fever we'd got was evolving We finally reached the last ditty in that chilly and rain sodden city oh we're told that in Spain it just rains on the plain but here it soaks both plain and pretty Performed by Violin 1: Csongor Veér Violin 2: Anna Fehér Viola: Péter Kondor Cello: Mátyás Ölveti of Budapest Scoring.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1133657 By Julian Hartwell. By Julian Horner. Arranged by Julian Horner. Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV,New Age. Score. 11 pages. Julian Hartwell Music #733773. Published by Julian Hartwell Music (A0.1133657). The Journey is a meditative solo piano excursion traversing realms of both melancholy and hope..quiet reflection and forward motion...the energy of momentum and the pause of reflection. It's an original fusion of neoclassical and new-age inspired piano music in the style of artists like George Winston and David Nevue. This piece is my way of musically expressing the patience, determination, and hard-won triumphs along the way in ‘the Journey’ of our lives - from finding our Purpose to the act of becoming who we are meant to be, both on an inner and outer level. It features two movements, with a rising, driven melody that keeps pushing ahead to new heights, full of unexpected harmonic twists and turns throughout, and an uplifting final section that builds slowly to an ultimate crescendo full of energy and enthusiasm. The recapitulation of the main melody at the end, yet in a new, brighter key, speaks to the transformation of the traveler as he proceeds along his journey, speaking to the growth and enhanced perspective that he has garnered along the way, and a summation of all he has become in the process. For intermediate to advanced pianists, looking for an emotional and dynamic piece that takes both the player and listener on a journey, pun intended. This composition is broken up into two movements, which can stand alone in their own right.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033403 Composed by Adam Geibel, Evan Stephens, Grace Gordon, and Will L. Thompson. Arranged by Stacey Oakes. Christian,Gospel,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 12 pages. Stacey Oakes at Whiting Publishing #3878753. Published by Stacey Oakes at Whiting Publishing (A0.1033403). Good for Missionary or Youth Musical Numbers - Soprano/Tenor or Men/Women Choirs This medley was written upon request for a missionary's send-off! It's great for: - Church Services - Missionary Farewells and Homecomings - Firesides - Youth Choirs - Adult Choirs - Soprano and Tenor Duet Purpose/Message: The medley's purpose is to invigorate us and to encourage us to be brave in sharing truth. It emphasizes the concepts of pressing on, having courage, and not fearing. Difficulty: Medium (There are some independent singing sections, some notes at the top of the soprano and tenor range, and a couple spots with less typical harmonies. It is, however, not a difficult piece overall. Those who are accustomed to singing in choirs will have no trouble but will be challenged enough to enjoy the piece.) Range: The notes are within range for a somewhat experienced or serious singer. If using in a choir, you can have the higher notes sung one octave lower by those out of range, or add a harmonic note as needed. There are only a couple of instances where this might be needed. Solutions to Problems: If you have youth afraid to go on missions, this song will help them take courage and be brave. If you have adults who are faltering from fear (as all do on occasion), it is hoped this song will bolster their courage and resolve.   Duration of Work: This medley is approximately 4:12 minutes long. Performing Rights Organization: The composer is a member of BMI. Contact Information: You can contact the composer through MyMusicStash.blogspot.com. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1394205 By Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. By Francesco Sartori, Frank Peterson, and Lucio Quarantotto. Arranged by C Strommen, U Bye & A Fernie, orchestrated by Peet du Toit. Classical,Pop. 11 pages. Peet du Toit #977678. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1394205). Con te partirò (With You I Shall Depart) is an Italian song written by Francesco Sartori (music) and Lucio Quarantotto (lyrics). It was first performed by Andrea Bocelli at the 1995 Sanremo Music Festival and recorded on his album of the same year, Bocelli. The single was first released as an A-side single with Vivere in 1995, topping the charts, first in France, where it became one of the best-selling singles of all-time, and then in Belgium, breaking the all-time record sales there.A second version of the song, sung partly in English, released in 1996 as Time to Say Goodbye, paired Bocelli with British soprano Sarah Brightman, and achieved even greater success, topping charts all across Europe, including Germany, where it became the biggest-selling single in history. Brightman and Bocelli produced a version with Brightman singing in German and Bocelli in Italian, with this version being available on the CD Time to Say Goodbye. That version alone has now sold more than 12 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.I hope this cover thereof for a Brass Quintet is pleasing to the players and their audience.

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.923852 By George Shearing. By Hoagy Carmichael. Arranged by Steve William Lussing. Jazz. Score and parts. 5 pages. S. W. Lussing #3126013. Published by S. W. Lussing (A0.923852). Many venerable songs were written in the age before computers and midi synthesizers. A musical score or lead sheet was intended to be interpreted for style and tempo, and while some of those interpretations may not necessarily have been wrong, quite often they weren't always what the author intended, but face it, it's just plain hard to write music exactly in the way that the song is intended to be sung. Enter the computer age, and the ability for performers to understand that the interval of a note is an absolute time interval which puts the natural rhythm, or beat, of a musical arrangement at about 25% faster than a beat per second, which is why I arrange music to be performed at ~ 80 BPM, which means, approximately 80 beats per minute. That is not etched in stone, but it does represent the comfort zone to which the performer should subscribe when singing or playing a song. Contemporary jazz singers are, in my opinion, therefore obligated to re-arrange the songs that they intend to record, to avoid the embarrassment of getting it wrong. It happens. Timing is of the essence.  Many of those old jazz classics are well served with a rewrite for the contemporary artist. The Nearness of You was written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael, with lyrics by Ned Washington, and was performed in the 1938 Paramount movie, Romance in the Dark, by Gladys Swarthout of the Metropolitan Opera.  It has been recorded numerous times over the years, and it maintains its popularity today.  The guitar chording for this arrangement is targeted toward the experienced and more advanced players, but I encourage the experienced intermediate level player to take up the challenge of learning to play this song.  It will be a rewarding experience.
