Tuba Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.865253 Arranged by Chris Cooke. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Individual part. 65 pages. Chris Cooke #3603527. Published by Chris Cooke (A0.865253). 50 Favorite Hymns for Solo and Duet Instruments is a sequel to the first book, Hymns for Solo and Duet Instruments.  This second collection contains my all-time favorites and is written for early-mid-intermediate players.  The hymns are written so that instruments can be mixed and matched for duet or ensemble purposes.  Suitable for worship services, they can be played as offertories or special music selections, or as accompaniment to congregational singing.  Many of the hymns are in the traditional hymnal keys, however, there are some that may be slightly lower to accommodate instrumental ranges.  This tuba book contains only the melody of these hymns. One verse and chorus is written for each and can be repeated as needed.  Hymns with a particular theme or key can be combined for a medley, e.g. I Love to Tell the Story, Oh How I Love Jesus, and He Keeps Me Singing-all are in A-flat.  Melody and duet parts are available for flute/oboe, clarinet/trumpet, alto sax, French horn, and trombone/baritone/bassoon.  When necessary, parts occasionally cross for ease of playing for the bass instruments.  A piano accompaniment book is also available.  These accompaniments are eclectic in style and span the gamut from classical to gospel.  The hymns with their concert keys are:   All Things Bright and Beautiful, alternate tune, C And Can It Be, F Are You Washed in the Blood, G At Calvary, C Be Thou My Vision, E-flat Blessed Be the Name, A-flat Breathe on Me, Breath of God, F Come Christians, Join to Sing, E-flat Faith is the Victory, E-flat Glory to His Name, G Heavenly Sunlight, F He Keeps Me Singing, A-flat I Love to Tell the Story, A-flat Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise, A-flat It Is Mine, B-flat Jesus Saves, F Joy Unspeakable and Full of Glory, A-flat Just As I Am, E-flat Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, A-flat Like a River Glorious, F Love Lifted Me, B-flat My Faith Looks Up to Thee, D Nothing But The Blood, A-flat Oh How I Love Jesus, A-flat On Jordan’s Stormy Banks, E-flat Praise Him!  Praise Him!  F Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It!  A-flat Rejoice, The Lord Is King!  C Revive Us Again, F Rock of Ages, B-flat Send the Light, F Since I Have Been Redeemed, F Since Jesus Came into My Heart, F Softly and Tenderly, F Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus, G Standing on the Promises, B-flat Sunshine in my Soul, F The Old Rugged Cross, B-flat There is Power in the Blood, B-flat There Shall Be Showers of Blessing, B-flat The Solid Rock, F This is My Father’s World, E-flat To God Be the Glory, G Trust and Obey, F We Gather Together, B-flat When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, G When We All Get to Heaven, C Wonderful Grace of Jesus, B-flat Wonderful Words of Life, F

Small Ensemble Drum Set,Euphonium,Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802654 By Bee Gees. By Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Dance,Disco. Score and parts. 12 pages. Peet du Toit #6200345. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802654). First of May is a song by the Bee Gees with lead vocals by Barry Gibb, released as a single from their 1969 double album Odessa. The song was first recorded in Atlantic Studios in New York and was continued in IBC Studios, London. Barry said in the booklet with Tales from the Brothers Gibb that the title of the song came from the birthday of his dog, Barnaby. Maurice recalled the session in which that song came about. Barry and I were sitting at the piano, he said, And I started playing the chords, and Barry started singing, 'When I was small and Christmas trees were tall' and I started singing along with it. We put a demo down with a vocal and we kept the piano track. Went back to England, and went into IBC Studios in London, added onto that piano track and Barry's vocal stayed on as well. We had a choir and an orchestra all on this one piano. This song was initially taped in demo form in New York City on 16 August 1968.The orchestral arrangement from maestro Bill Shepherd was featured on the second chorus. The song starts with a piano on the first verse and chorus. Shepherd's orchestra was featured in second verse and second chorus. After singing the second chorus, the singer repeated the first verse. The music was stopped when he sings don't ask me why, but time has passed us by, Someone else moved in from far away.It was quite a challenge to arrange such subtle music for a brass quintet. I am very pleased with the result though. Enjoy!

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1015164 Composed by Timothy Piper. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Timothy Piper #4747147. Published by Timothy Piper (A0.1015164). Glorificamus Deum is a setting of Psalm 23. This setting works well in both a church service and a concert setting. It takes the very traditional words of the psalm, and spins them with a fresh new approach. The music takes you on a journey from a quiet beginning, into a jazzy-pop expression of wonder as the words joyfully proclaim that goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.... An added refrain of Glorificamus Deum adds an accent of exuberance throughout the piece. This piece of music is not difficult and is accessible to most choirs. Mostly sung in unison, it goes into two parts briefly, but the two parts are canonic and thus, easy to master. The piece is musically interesting for the conductor of a youth ensemble. The range is just over an octave and has young people singing in their head voices. There are opportunities for controlled expressive singing, and also opportunities for more exuberant let-it-out singing. The piece goes back and forth between the major and minor modes. It has one particularly challenging interval with a descending major 7th. As well, there is a large dynamic range and some excellent opportunities for rubato and watching the conductor carefully in the softer, more expressive sections. This piece is fun, melodic, and will be a favorite with every chorister, the instant it is learned.

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972673 Composed by James Siddons. Contemporary,Folk,Jazz,Spiritual. Score. 25 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #6698569. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972673). Performance NoteSonata Hymnica No. 6 is scored for two pianos and three performers. One  performer (or player) sits at Piano I and may also serve as the conductor. At Piano II, Performer 1 plays from the treble  staff and Performer 2 plays from the bass staff. There are possible variations in this, such as having four pianos (two pianos  doubling the other two), or having two performers at Piano I, with Performer 2 playing only the bass-staff rhythmic pattern that  begins in measure 37. A standing conductor (not playing piano) may be desired.  Although repetitive, the music in this sonata rarely repeats itself  exactly; hence, further minor improvisations by the performers are appropriate, keeping with the improvisatory nature of oral  tradition. Program Note (for use in concert programs) by James Siddons  The Sonata Hymnica series by James Siddons consists of piano solos that explore the world of American hymns and  vernacular religious songs in the 1880-1920 era, when rural and small-town churches relied on pianos for music, and, in an age before microphones and amplification, the acoustics of wooden floors, walls, and high ceilings. These sonatas are not hymn arrangements but explorations of the sounds that can be created by a piano in a reverberant environment, all the while keeping in mind the essential message of the familiar words  sung to the various hymn tunes. Sonata Hymnica No. 6 is the first in the series to be for piano ensemble, and the second (after No. 3) to be based on the worship music of the 19th-century African American church. This sixth sonata also explores the singing world of the black congregation and choir as well as the piano. Their singing was shaped  by the sounds and intonations of the piano and the heritage of European music behind it, as well as the contours and cadences of the religious folk songs known as Spirituals. But the black congregations also sang hymns and choruses from the Classical tradition, and the Spirituals became the basis of many adaptations by white arrangers. Thus, we may speak  of  standardized adaptations of Spirituals as white black music, and black performance styles of Classical works as black white music. Piano ragtime music is a non-religious example of white music (the military march) made into black white music by the blending in of the syncopated rag rhythm. Sonata Hymnica No. 6 explores the intermingling of these two strains of American music as heard in the 19th-century black church. In his classic book The Souls of Black Folk (Chicago, 1903), W. E. B. Du Bois confesses to not being a musician but nonetheless finding himself enthralled by the music of the Southern 19th-century African Americans. He refers to their singing as the Frenzy or ‘Shouting,’ when the Spirit of the Lord passed by, and seizing the  devotee, made him mad with supernatural joy . . . stamping, shrieking, and shouting, the rushing to and fro and waving of arms,  the weeping and laughing, the vision and the trance (p. 116). On another page, Du Bois speaks of . . . the songs of my fathers . . . swelling with song, instinct for life, tremendous treble and darkening bass (p. 163). Sonata Hymnica No. 6 uses the African call and response form as well  as percussive polyrhythms.

The reborn willow tree arrives on a river bank in Oxford and experiences all the special celebrations that May Morning brings: The choir, the bells, the singing and the folk dancing. Approximately 4 minutes and a delightful piece to play.Goodness me!   Where am I now?  The sun is just rising and there is a slight mist in the air. I must be by a river.  There are strange boats floating by, propelled by long poles. All on board are laughing, drinking and singing at the tops of their voices.  I see a tall tower and on the top are small boys dressed in strange white dresses. They are singing wonderful songs. .Now bells are ringing and I hear cheering and music that keeps going all day long until tiredness slowly brings the fun to an end.  The moon is rising and the world sleeps again. .I like my new home. Goodnight!

Published by Bilsco Music (A0.1475304). SCORES INCLUDED:Full Score & Parts Scores: Solo+Sopranos, Mezzos+Altos, CajonPERFORMANCE NOTES FROM THE COMPOSER:I AM is a singing meditation. It is both a piece that honors the individual and the whole. It is meant to affirm an individual's worth, as well as the whole collective. When a choir prepares for a performance, they rehearse a piece dozens if not hundreds of times. I wanted the experience of rehearsing I AM to be an ongoing declaration of the singer’s value. Therefore, every phrase in this piece is an affirmation. When a singer finds themselves singing the piece outside of rehearsal, they will be singing words that are positive and affirming. I cannot express how much joy that brings me as a composer.Musically, I AM is both complex, with its 7-part vocal split, contrasting rhythms, and varying accents, yet simple in its repetition, lyrics, and tonality. Each of the 7 parts sings a unique affirmation throughout the piece. They are simple statements like, I am enough and I am love, but can hold so much complexity depending on an individual's relationship with the statement. In the middle of the piece, there is an aleatoric section where each singer contributes their unique affirming statement. It creates a chaotic building of sound before coming together for the first and only time in the piece to sing I AM as a whole choir in block chords.  It is one of my favorite moments in the piece because simple and complex are just a beat apart.I AM was commissioned by the Grand Rapids Women's Chorus and premiered on May 10, 2024.  If you would like to hear more about the creation of the piece, you can hear the composer's original explantions on Youtube.

Choral Choir,Choral,SSA Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1421687 By The Beatles. By George Harrison. Arranged by Hazel Hannam. 20th Century,A Cappella,Pop. 5 pages. Hazel Hannam #1003052. Published by Hazel Hannam (A0.1421687). This arrangement of Here Comes The Sun in 3 parts is suitable for most choirs, especially beginner to intermediate levels. It can be sung by just men, just women, or mixed voices SAB. (see SAB version)Although it is a simple arrangement, there is plenty to push and challenge your singers to help them to improve on technique. Singing on the 'nn' of 'sun' and 'mm' of 'comes' to add interest, creating a tension throughout the song with the grand release at the very end, singing 'comes' as an open vowel sound, and then shutting it back down to an 'mm' right at the last few seconds! It is a joyful song about finally feeling the gentle warmth of the sun after a winter full of cold, wind, rain and snow and long dark days. Reminding us of warmer sunnier days ahead. What could be more hopeful or more uplifting?I hope you enjoy this arrangement of this great Beatles' classic. Please let me know how you get on with and send me any links to youtube of your choir singing it. I'd love to hear you! hazelhannam@icloud.com  Thanks for your support in buying this arrangment. David Warin Solomons #863483. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1271090). Here is my 1976 Oratorio on Winnie the Pooh (Poohratorio) for alto voice, spoken parts, guitar and various optional other instrumentsGreat fun for young and old. It uses the whole of Chapter 8 of A A Milne's Now we are six -The expotition to the North Pole, which is now in the public domain in the USA.The pdf file is the score based on the alto and guitar parts with spoken voices provided in text on the score.CHAPTER 8 ...IN WHICH CHRISTOPHER ROBIN LEADS AN EXPOTITION TO THE NORTH POLEONE fine day Pooh had stumped to the top of the Forest to see if his friend Christopher Robin was interested in Bears at all. At breakfast that morning (a simple meal of marmalade spread lightly over a honeycomb or two) he had suddenly thought of a new song. It began like this:Sing Ho! For the life of a Bear. When he had got as far as this, he scratched his head, and thought to himself That's a very good start for a song, but what about the second line? He tried singing Ho, two or three times, but it didn't seem to help. Perhaps it would be better, he thought, if I sang Hi for the life of a Bear. So he sang it . . . but it wasn't. Very well, then, he said, I shall sing that first line twice, and perhaps if I sing it very quickly, I shall find myself singing the third and fourth lines before I have time to think of them, and that will be a Good Song. Now then:Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! I don't much mind if it rains or snows, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice new nose! I don't much care if it snows or thaws, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice clean paws! Sing Ho! for a Bear! Sing Ho! for a Pooh! And I'll have a little something in an hour or two! He was so pleased with this song that he sang it all the way to the top of the Forest, and if I go on singing it much longer, he thought, it will be time for the little something, and then the last line won't be true. So he turned it into a hum instead.   ..... etc.
