An accompanied saxophone (A-A-A/T) trio beginning with a piano introduction. The first section is a blocked harmony in the saxes with the first carrying the melody. The second section uses the same underlying rhythmic patterns but now the structure is in a different meter (quadruple vs the previous triple) which gives an extended feeling. A couple modulations take place and the style becomes smooth and expressive. This all leads towards the Coda where the whole premise shifts the moods of the beginning where it increases in tension and ends with solid impact.

An unaccompanied quartet for two flutes and two clarinets. The introduction is presented in a rather rollicking manner where it breaks into a first presentation of the melody- the verse is more said while the chorus is more snappy. A brief transition gives way to the first flute stating the tune, supported by the clarinets with this chorus more block. A modulation takes place using motivic material from the theme with the style smoother and more contrapuntal. The coda section takes from the introduction material and gains dynamic momentum, with a snappy ending.

A brass sextet with opt. parts for flugelhorn and BHTC. The beginning introduces stacked motives building to full chords. Following is a rendition of When I Can Read My Title Clear with melody broken down into fragments passed around to the various instruments. After key changes the quintet presents I Am Bound For The Promised Land in much the same fabric of the earlier section. After a brief transition in a new key we find Just Over In The Glory Land in a more flowing style than the earlier tunes. The Coda section becomes my rhythmically active where it ends on a solid chord .

Traditional string quartet with opt. violin part for viola. The introduction begins in a somewhat solemn nature, building in tension and then in repose where it introduces the hymn Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us. The texture is in a traditional harmonization with the tune in the first violin where it gives over to the cello on the chorus with gentle punctuations in the upper voices. An imitative motif serves as a transition progresses leading into He Leadeth Me with the tune in the cello. The violin takes over with a modified tune and then in a fughetta-like series of entrances leads into a modulation where the cello expresses the tune with the upper voices accompanying with moving rhythms. The tune of All The Way My Savior Leads Me is presented by the viola with a violin obbligato overhead leading into a full ensemble with rich and moving harmonies. A change of meters gives way to a change of counterpoint and God Leads Us Along. Here, it moves amongst the various parts and gives way to sweet release.

A brass quintet with opt. Trumpet for horn and baritone TC. It begins with fanfare motifs of the tune and then breaks into the hymn adding more parts as it progresses. It continues with a Q&A type of dialog between the lower, then upper voices. The second setion in a different key is reminiscent of the opening only this time in the middle voices and again moves in a Q&A type of dialog. Again modulating to a new key the theme is bounced around with rhythmical interest only to finalize in strong chordal patterns and ending on a bold declamation.
